A Winery Visit, Birthday Celebrations, Food, And Fitness

Hi there, everyone!! How has your weekend been?! Mine has been fun and I’m sad it is coming to an end. I am not sure that I am ready for another week.

Onto my weekend!

After work, I came home and did a few things around the house before my husband called that he was on his way home. He wanted Chinese for dinner, so he brought me some won-ton soup to go with my dinner. I had an asian salad kit, fried plantain, and chicken!

We watched Justice League and Master Chef Jr. before bed.

I woke up super early! I didn’t plan on it, but I struggle sleeping in. I had coffee and did some things on the computer until my husband woke up. Mid-day, I went to the gym for a spin class.

When I got home, I realized I didn’t feel well. I was slightly flu-ish and began having sinus pressure. We had a big evening planned, so I made Theraflu tea and got Afrin, which made me feel SO much better!

We headed to Cincinnati to celebrate me and my uncle’s birthdays at one of our favorite places: Valley Vineyards.

Each couple gets a bottle of wine (or beer), a meat that you get to season and cook yourself on huge outdoor grills, unlimited sides, and pie! It is SUCH a fun experience!

I always get salmon and my husband gets steak.

My plate!

My aunt and I! She’s the best.

My brother, cousin and his wife, with my husband and I!

My uncle and I share the same birthday so we always get together to celebrate!

Me, my aunt, sister-in-law, and mamma!

We had so much fun catching up!

By the time we got home, I started feeling crappy again, but was so glad I felt good throughout the evening.

I woke up and went to Starbucks with my mom. We went shopping, while my husband cleaned my car. He’s pretty awesome!

We were supposed to go to my cousin’s daughter’s birthday party, but since I still wasn’t feeling great we went home.

We were super hungry when we got back, so we made some food.

A poppyseed salad topped with leftover chili and a cornbread muffin!

Afterwards, I did some laundry and now we are relaxing until our show comes on.

That’s all for today! Have a wonderful week!

Weekend Wrap-Up (A Winery Visit, A Date Night, And A Baby Shower)

Hi there, everyone! I hope you all have had a great weekend. Mine has been fun and busy.

After work, my friend and I met at a local winery by us called Coopershawk. They have the best wines and delicious food!! We each got a flight of wine and split two meals from the happy hour menu.

I love sweet wines, so my flight had rhubarb, sweet red, raspberry, and white sangria! YUM!

For dinner, we split chicken pot stickers and ahi tuna tacos. All of the meals come with pretzel bread, which is addicting!

We had a great time talking and winding down from our crazy work week.

I started the morning with a big breakfast, cat cuddles, and coffee, followed by a treadmill hiit workout at the gym!

My chunker! Isn’t he adorable?!

After that, I went with my husband to pick up my car, which he has been busting his butt to fix! He’s amazing!

We finally were able to have a date night since my car was finished, so we went to the dinner theater for dinner and a movie!

I woke up super early to clean and grocery shop since I knew I was going to be gone all day.

I drove about 2 hours to celebrate my sister-in-law and soon to be niece! We had so much fun and she has another shower in two weeks! Yay!

I can’t wait to meet baby Avery!

I am finally home and my husband and I are going to grill out and relax.

That’s the update for now! Have a great evening, all!!

Weekend Wrap-up (workouts, food, and a date night)

Happy Monday,  everyone! I hope you had a great weekend. Between some fitness, eating out, and a date night, ours was great.

The morning started out with an early, hot and sweaty 3 mile run. I came back to this adorable view:

After a shower, I met my work bestie at Starbucks. The school year starts soon and we are getting ready, excited-ish, and nervous.

When I left there, my hubs called and asked me to meet him at Chipotle for lunch. I love mid-day meet ups with him.

The evening was spent watching the Notebook at home. Cue all of the tears.

The morning started with protein pancakes. I took a protein mix and added a heaping TBSP of chocolate peanut butter  protein powder and cocoa nibs to the batter. I also topped them with honey. YUM!

Next was a couple’s workout. We jogged to the park by us, and once we got there we used the benches and equipment to do jumps, pushups, etc. I love working out together.

After some house cleaning and showers, we utalized gift cards and movie points for a date night! The evening started with dinner at Roosters. (Thanks for the gift card, mom).

Mine was just a tad healthier than his haha

After dinner, we went to Coopershawk winery for a glass of wine. I had rhubarb and my husband had raspberry.

Next, we walked around outside until it was movie time. We saw the new Transformers in our favorite theater. Who doesn’t love reclining leather chairs at the movies?

It was a great date night!!

The day started with a huge breakfast with my husband’s parents, followed by a Lowes trip for more house stuff. I could spend so much time and money there.

After that, we spent some time to chill before doing more house work.

I ended the evening with a hot yoga class at my gym! It was amazing and oh so needed.

Well, there you have it! Have a great start of your week!

With love,
