Weekend Workout (Strength and Cardio)

Hello and happy Saturday! We are off to see the progress on our new home, then heading to my husband’s shop for a bit. I am hoping to grab a favorite local food place by there to bring home for dinner.

Anyway…

This morning I was able to get in an outdoor workout during K’s nap. My husband had the monitor, so I had a chance to take a little time for myself. It was quick, sweaty, and felt so good. The weather was overcast and warm, but had a lovely breeze!

THE WORKOUT:

*5 minute run

*Legs: 3 rounds with weights

10 squat to calf raise, 10 squat pulses, 10 single leg deadlifts (both sides)

*5 minute run

*Arms: 3 rounds with weights

10 around the worlds, 10 bicep pulses, 10 push-ups (I did incline)

*5 minute run

*Full body: 3 rounds with weights

10 curl press, 10 lunges (both sides), 10 overhead triceps

The whole workout took my a little over 30 minutes!

Food, Fitness, And Friday Favorites

Hello, everyone! I hope you are all staying safe and healthy. I sure do miss getting out, just the store, gym class with baby K, wine dates with friends, or a random Starbucks trip. I do feel so lucky to be home with my beautiful baby girl every day. She gets me through, that’s for sure.

Her personality shines, and she is a constant reminder of just how blessed we are.

This week has been pretty chilly, so most days have been spent inside. Today, however, is beautiful! Baby and I took a jog this morning and plan on getting back out after her nap.

Let’s talk favorites this week…

TV:

*Tiger King: we finally jumped on the band wagon and oh my gosh what a crazy show! We binged it in a couple nights after K went to bed.

*Outer Banks: We are loving this show! I have been going to the Outer Banks every year for over 20 years, so that makes it even more fun to watch.

*Nailed It: This show is absolutely hilarious and makes me forget my worries.

FOOD:

Veggie burgers, taco cups, wheat crust pizza, and a basil burrito from Northstar Cafe. YUM!

FITNESS:

Bands, my new kettlebells, elliptical, hiit videos, and stroller jogs!

Weekend Wrap-Up (Food, Fitness, And Surviving Daylight Savings Time With A Baby)

Hi, all! I hope your weekend has been wonderful. I didn’t get as much cleaning done as I would have liked, but I hope to finish tomorrow.

Anyway, I was semi-dreading daylight savings time. Messing with baby K’s sleep schedule really had me worried, but the method I used worked so well! I started pushing her typical schedule back by 15 minutes a few days ago, then 30 the next day, and so on until today to get her body used to the time change. She literally did perfect today, and her naps and bedtime stayed the same times as they were before the time change. She has an early bedtime, and it seemed strange to put her down when it was so dark out!

She was such a happy baby today!

My schedule-oriented heart is happy now….well, until the holidays.

Now, onto the rest of the weekend…

SATURDAY:

My mother-in-law and sister-in-law had stayed with us Friday night, and they left fairly early for a volleyball tournament near our house. Once they left, I had coffee and hung with the family.

I headed to the gym after getting the baby down for her morning nap. I took an upper body workout class and it was awesome!

Once the baby was up, we all got ready to go watch my sister-in-law play volleyball. She did awesome and was excited we were there.

Her look for the day!

We got the baby down for her afternoon nap when we got home. When she woke up, we headed to my work bestie’s house so that my husband could work on her car. I love seeing her!

We left when the baby got sleepy, and got her home for bed.

For dinner, we had tacos!

We were both pretty beat and went to bed early.

SUNDAY:

This morning started with coffee and family time! We played with the baby until her morning nap. My husband went to finish my work bestie’s car, and we joined after nap time.

I got my grocery shopping done during baby K’s afternoon nap, then played with her until her bath and bedtime.

Hubs and I had chicken and potatoes for dinner, and now we are relaxing. I have a feeling I am going to fall asleep on the couch because I am wiped out.

Weekend Wrap-Up (Food, Fitness, And Father’s Day)

Hello and happy Monday, all! How was your weekend? Ours was nice, as we had some family time, and spoiled my husband for Father’s Day.

Let’s recap…

SATURDAY:

My mom stayed Friday night, so in the morning we had coffee, played with the baby, then went to the gym before doing some shopping.

At the gym, I took an upper body workout class.

We picked up salad bowls from Piada for lunch. Talk about tasty!!

After lunch, my mom headed home, and my husband and I played with the little one.

I cleaned a bit, then we hung around the house. The baby had a bath and an early bedtime, so my husband and I got Chinese and rented a movie.

It was a lovely evening!

SUNDAY-FATHER’S DAY:

I woke up early and picked up donuts and coffee while my husband and baby were still sleeping.

When my husband and little one woke up, we had some family time. My husband enjoyed his breakfast and opened his gift card (for a deep tissue massage).

When the baby took a nap, I cleaned and had lunch, while my husband played some video games.

My husband took off for his massage, so the baby and I played until he got home.

We all went to Kroger for groceries and picked up food to grill for dinner. After putting the baby to bed, we grilled out steaks and turkey burgers. We also had corn and potatoes!

After dinner, we rented a movie before heading to bed.

We had a great weekend!

Now, I will leave you with some of my favorite pictures to honor my husband, my dad (who passed away in 2012), and my father-in-law.

My husband is the best daddy to our little girl. He adores her, and she adores him. I’m so in love with these two!

My dad was so amazing. I miss him every single day. I find that I am so much like him, and I couldn’t be more thankful for that.

My father-in-law has loved and accepted me from day 1. He constantly tells me that I am a good mom and it means so much to me.

I am so blessed!

My Weekend Of Fast Cars And Fitness

Hello, all! How did your Monday treat you?

I went back to work today, and cried leaving my sweet girl this morning. The day flew by and I raced home, greeted with a huge smile. Ahhh I love her so much! I am so exhausted though.

Anyway…

This weekend was busy, but very nice. Here’s the recap:

FRIDAY NIGHT:

I had sausage and bean soup in the crockpot that we ate for dinner (after getting the baby down for bed).

We also rented a movie before bed.

SATURDAY:

The day started with coffee as always. I snuck out to do an upper body workout class at the gym.

It felt so good! After class and a quick lunch, I put the baby down for a nap and cleaned up the house. Afterwards, we all went to my husband’s shop while he worked on his racecar.

When we left, we did a quick grocery run before heading home. We put the baby down for bed, made some food, then rented the Ted Bundy movie on Netflix.

SUNDAY:

My husband’s shop puts on a big race each year, so he left super early to get there. It was rescheduled from last weekend due to the rain.

I got up and got the baby and myself ready before heading to church with some friends. After church, my girlfriend, little one, and myself headed to the track. It was a long day, but so fun watching my husband race.

I headed home around 5 to get the baby to bed by 7. She was overtired and it took me a while to get her down, but she slept great!

I read in bed until my husband got home.
