2020 Recap And Intentions For The New Year

Hello, all!! Is anyone else ready to say good riddance to 2020? I have definitely had some low moments this year. It hasn’t been all bad though! We have definitely had some wonderful things happen as well! I like looking back and going through pictures. Here is the recap:

JANUARY: *K made a full recovery from her December hospital stay!

*I found out I was pregnant, but suffered an early loss.

FEBRUARY: K turned 1 and we had a “Sweet One” Party for her.

*My sister-in-law moved in with us because she started a job in our city.

MARCH: *The pandemic started, and I had a quarantined birthday at home.

APRIL: *We took a lot of walks, and played at home.

*We celebrated Easter at home and K had her very first egg hunt.

MAY: *Celebrated Mother’s Day with a socially distanced dinner with our families.

*Found out that I was pregnant and felt so much joy, and a little anxiety knowing that I would have two littles under two!

JUNE: *Had an appointment/ultrasound and our sweet baby had a faint little heartbeat.

*Had family pictures taken for when we were ready to announce our pregnancy.

*Found out that I was likely to miscarry, and was given options of how I wanted to go about it. I decided to let it happen naturally.

*Went to the lake with my husband’s family, and it was so nice to get my mind off of things for a while.

She ended up loving this!!

JULY: On the 4th, I suffered a very painful miscarriage at home. My mom and husband switched on and off taking care of me and K.

After the pain settled some I soaked up cuddles and cartoons with this sweetheart.

*Spent a ton of time outside and went to the Zoo often.

My giraffe loving babe!

AUGUST: *Put our house up for sale while our new one was being built. It sold in 5 days!

*Visited my brother and his family. K and her cousin had a ball together!

*Had many more Zoo visits, and enjoyed the outdoors as much as possible. It was a super hot month!!

SEPTEMBER: *Went apple and pumpking picking, and made some final memories in our first home.

*Moved into an apartment with my mom while our home was being built.

*Went to Michigan for my brother-in-law’s small, family only wedding. It was beautiful!

K was tired so this picture was the best we could get hahaha

OCTOBER: *Enjoyed SO many fun Fall activities: Hayrides, pumpkin picking, farm visits, and Boo At The Zoo. We also did a ton of Fall baking!

*Went on vacation to the Outer Banks, NC. My husband and I celebrated our 5 year wedding anniversary while we were there!

NOVEMBER: *We moved into our beautiful new home and enjoyed celebrating Thanksgiving.

Our new table and chairs! Perfect for Thanksgiving dinner and hosting (which I love to do). I can’t wait to do it more when Covid is a thing of the past.

DECEMBER: *Went to Zoo Lights, baked cookies, and enjoyed Christmas at home.

Now that a new year is coming, I just want to have a positive outlook on everything and enjoy making memories with my family! I don’t plan on making a bunch of resolutions that I won’t keep, instead I just want to enjoy this wonderful life I have been given.

Wishing you all health and happiness!

With love,

Carly

Fit Friday-This Week In Food, Fitness, A New Baby,  And Thanksgiving At Our Place

Friday is here…although with the holiday I have had an extra long weekend already. What a wonderful week it has been! Between meeting my niece, cleaning, and hosting Thanksgiving, it has been crazy…but in the best way possible!

MONDAY:

My workout after work was the C9 challenge! I take it every week and I can tell I’m getting stronger. It is circuit style with weights and bursts of cardio.

Dinner was Kodiak Cake pizza and a salad. Simple, yet so tasty!

TUESDAY:

I woke up flooded with texts and pictures of my brand new niece born late the night before. I knew I had to see her as soon as possible!

My morning workout was a 30 minute stair climber workout.

After work, I drove to meet ny niece. Luckily, my mom came halfway so I didn’t have to drive the whole thing alone.

I love this little peanut so much already!!

After spending time with the little one, my mom, brother, and I went to dinner at Ruby Tuesday’s. I love their salad bar. I made a huge salad with chicken and had a bowl of soup.

I stayed at my mom’s place that night since I didn’t want to drive so late. We watched This Is Us before bed!

WEDNESDAY:

I woke up bright and early to get home. My friend and I picked up our packets for the Turkey Trot, then grabbed Starbucks.

I headed to the gym for a Barre class and it was awesome. It was low impact, but I got a lot out of it.

The rest of the day was spent deep cleaning and prepping for Thanksgiving!! I did take a break for a nourish bowl. I found this at Kroger and it was super tasty!

My husband and I ran some errands then crashed hard once we got home.

THURSDAY:

I woke up early and had a cup of coffee before meeting my friends to run the Turkey Trot. It was freezing at the race, and I lost feeling in my feet until almost the end which kind of sucked. We had a lot of fun despite the cold and rewarded ourselves with Starbucks after!

I love my friends!

After the race, it was time to get ready to host Thanksgiving! We spent hours cooking, and it all payed off. The food was delicious and the company was even better! Wine, food, family, and friends…you can’t beat that.

After dinner, we cleaned up a bit. My husband’s family stayed the night so we watched a movie before bed.

It was a wonderful day!

FRIDAY:

This morning I woke up and used our new coffee grinder  (our housewarming gift from my aunt and uncle) to make some delicious coffee. I plan on taking a workout class and potentially doing some shopping later! We have a big weekend coming up and I can’t wait to share with you guys!

Have a wonderful rest of your weekend!

With love,

Friday Five

Hi there, everyone and happy Friday! I hope you all are well. This week has been fairly crazy for me. Getting back into another school year, new students, trying to wake up at 5 to workout, funcion in the evenings to cook, blog and hang out with my husband has been hectic. Even though things get crazy at times, I am blessed beyond measure.

I wanted this post to be positive because I have SO much to be thankful for! So, here is five (of many) things I am greatful for.

1. MY HUSBAND

I will never be able to put into words how amazing this guy is. He is hard working, fun, loving, smart, gentle and patient. He makes every day worth while and I don’t know how I got so darn lucky, but I am thankful I did.

2. MY STUDENTS

One of the greatest joys is having a student run into your arms, beaming to see you after summer break. Those are the moments that make the hard times worth it.

3. WORKING OUT

I love taking time to push myself and better myself at the gym, outside, or even in my home. It makes me feel better and lets me get my stress out in a healthy way.

4. THE ANTICIPATION OF FALL

We have been getting cooler weather here lately and I love it so much. Crisp air, pumpkins, apple picking, celebrating our anniversary, football, fires and family. I. Can’t. Wait.

5. COFFEE

The smell, the taste, the pick me up. The way it starts my day. Yep, it’s the little things! Haha

Well friends, there is just a few things making me happy this week! I hope to spread the joy to all of you!!

What are you thankful for lately?

Stay blessed and have a great weekend, everyone!

With love,

Carly
