Let’s Eat….And Catch Up

Hello, all! Goodness, it has been a while since I have been consistent on here. SO much has been going on, and I feel like I am being pulled in a lot of directions.We have been consumed with finishing our house projects because it needs to be up for sale asap. With building a new house, this is a requirement. My husband has been working his tail off, and I am beyond thankful for him! This work takes away much of our free time, although I am trying to squeeze in some fun for our girl.

FUN THINGS WE HAVE BEEN UP TO:

THE ZOO:

Oh my goodness, we had a blast at the zoo! They have great precautions in order for covid. My mom came, too! K LOVED seeing the animals, and was full of energy and giggles the whole time.

WATER TABLE:

My mom got this for K and she loves it! It has been very hot lately, and she has so much fun while keeping cool.

PLAY DATES:

We have been able to see some buddies, and K has had such a great time seeing her friends!

FOOD FAVORITES:

We had Chicago style deep dish pizzas sent to us and oh my goodness they were DELICIOUS! This one is half canadian bacon and half mushroom.

My mom stayed over one evening and we had a place called Clean Juice. This salad was SO tasty!! It had nuts, avacados, eggs, quinoa, and feta cheese. Yum!!

Double chocolate avacado muffins! Such a yummy, healthy treat. These go fast in our house! My sister-in-law came over and made them with me.

Pineapple boats! These are so fun to make.

WORKOUTS:

My at-home workouts typically include baby K these days! Sometimes I miss the gym and classes, plus the hour to myself. I do love saving money and utilizing what I have at home. K is the cutest workout buddy, too!

We run together, and do a lot of stroller barre.

If I wait until her naptime, I enjoy using my kettlebells and stairs to do some full body exercises.

OTHER:

My heart is in a good place since my miscarriage, and I am looking forward to all of the good things happening right now!

A Family, Food, And Fitness Update

Hi, all!! The baby is napping and my cleaning is done, so I am relaxing with my cats and favorite chocolate. My mind has been racing quite a bit with everything going on, but I have been counting my blessings every day. Here is a little life update….

BABY:

Or should I say toddler? This kid keeps me on my toes, and I just adore her. She is learning new skills every day, and is absolutely hilarious. She is walking along everything, but not quite without support yet! She makes my days fun, but definitely has way more energy than me.

FITNESS:

Working out at home has been pretty fun actually! I have been using bands, my new kettlebells (thanks, mom), running, and the baby is awesome added weight for squats and stairs. Plus, she thinks it is funny. Win for everyone!!

FOOD:

We are trying to continue to eat well, and cook healthy, tasty meals! Just a few favorites that my wonderful husband cooked…

FAMILY:

When the days are nice, we take walks. Yesterday, we went for a long family walk. It was wonderful! We have some beautiful areas around and the baby loves riding in her truck.

We utilize facetime often to see our families, and play trivia with mine! It has been so fun. We miss everyone though!

PROJECTS:

We have been trying to do some fun projects around the house. My sister-in-law and I made a flag pallet and it turned out so cute!

We also have been working on a puzzle and have a great start on it.

OTHER:

My husband is still working, but baby K and I are hunkered down and enjoying our days together. I hope you are all staying safe and healthy!

Let’s Have A Coffee Date

Happy Friday, all! How was your week? Mine was okay, but I’ve been feeling sick. My meals have been really odd, so no “Fit Friday” post today haha!

Instead, let’s have a virtual coffee date so I can give you some updates!

First off, I have to tell you about our big purchase we just made! A 2016 Explorer sport. The car is roomy and has the BEST features! I love it.

Next, I would share that I’ve been resting a lot since we returned from vacation. Just trying to soak up summer before I go back to work!

I would share that we have a water leak and have a huge bill coming to get that fixed. Ughh!! The joys of being a homeowner, right?

I would definitely have to talk to you about my new Hulu obsession (thanks to my work bestie)…the Handmaids Tale. It is SO intense, but I’ve been hooked!

I would share that my cats have been extra clingy since I got home from vacation! I just love them so much!!!

Last thing about me….I have been working my online teaching job a lot this summer and it is so fun! Teaching English to the sweetest Chinese students is a blast and it has been so helpful getting extra money.

Now, I want to know how you guys are doing!? I hope wonderful!

Fit Friday (This Week In Food And Fitness), A Life Update, And Our Upcoming Weekend

Hello, everyone! How is your Friday treating you so far? Mine has been good, as we only have a few kiddos at school today. This is much needed after a long, crazy week.

Let me update you on what’s happening in my life..

1) We only have 8 more days with our students and I am so excited for summer. We have a few trips planned and I am ready to relax!

2) My new online teaching job is wonderful, but wearing me out. The extra early mornings are hard, but so worth it.

3) And so another round of fertility medications and ultrasounds begin. I am hopeful, but definitely struggling. I am SO thankful and blessed to have the most wonderful husband to go through it all with.

On another note, we have a busy weekend ahead! My mom and nephew are coming tonight to see Deadpool and stay the weekend. Tomorrow, my brother and his wife are going to a wedding near us so we get to watch my sweet niece. We will have the whole crew staying Saturday night. I am excited to spend time with my family.

This week has been crazy, but we made some tasty, healthy meals and I did some good workouts. Here’s the recap:

MONDAY:

I waited until after work to go to the gym and take the C9 Challenge. It left me so sore!

Dinner was pasta with cheese stuffed turkey meatballs! I also had an English muffin!!

TUESDAY:

I woke up early to teach before work.

After work, I did a 30 minute treadmill workout before heading home. Dinner was a taco salad with coconut oil fried plantains! It was delicious!

WEDNESDAY:

I woke up early and decided to do a short workout video at home. I didn’t have the energy to go to the gym.

After work, I prepped my classes for the next day.

Once my husband got home, he grilled chicken legs for us. We also had corn on the cob. Yum!

After dinner we watched the Netflix show we have gotten into called Safe! Guys…it’s SO good!!!

THURSDAY:

I woke up and taught two classes before work. After work, I took a spinning class at my gym. It felt so good!

Dinner was stir fry and brown rice!

After dinner, I spent some time cleaning before falling asleep on the couch.

FRIDAY:

I woke up and went to gluteus maxout at my gym.

My work bestie and I got to get Panera for lunch today. It was so tasty!

It has been a lovely Friday!!

I’m ready for the weekend!

Food, Fitness, And This Week In Review

Ahhh Friday is here…finally! More than half of our class has been throwing up, so I’m praying I don’t get whatever is going around.

I must say that I am whooped from this week! The days have felt so long the closer we get to the end of the school year, plus I started teaching English to Chinese students online. I love the new job, but the extra hours before work are exhausting.

Anyway, let’s talk about this week…

MONDAY:

I waited until after work to go to the gym and take a class (the C9 Challenge). It is a full body workout with weights and cardio. I love it.

Dinner was chicken marsala (the Bertolli frozen meal and I added extra chicken). I had an English muffin on the side. Yum!

TUESDAY:

I did a hiit style workout on the treadmill after work. It felt good!!

I was so hungry by the time I got home. I made a taco salad and it was delicious!

WEDNESDAY:

I woke up early for my favorite workout class, Tabata! We did upper body and abs. Such a quick and efficient class!

After work, I headed to the Chiropractor before racing home to get ready and meet my mom and friend for dinner.

We went to Northsar cafe and everything was wonderful!

It was so fun catching up!

I attempted to go to bed early because the next day was a big day, but I just couldn’t sleep.

THURSDAY:

I woke up at 4:30 because I had 3 classes to teach back to back starting at 5am! It went really well and the kids were so sweet.

After teaching, I drank some coffee and got ready for the day.

My husband and I headed to the fertility doctor where I had an ultrasound and a shot to hopefully help speed things up! It hurt, but I am grateful to have options to try. Here’s hoping!!

I went to work and the day was nuts! Just think about kids throwing up everywhere. It was like a horror movie!

After work, I did a quick cardio workout before going home and making dinner.

We had some tasty stir fry!

I was exhausted from the day and fell asleep super early!

FRIDAY:

I woke up early this morning for a gluteus maxout class at my gym.

After work, I have to prepare for my weekend teaching classes before spending time with my hubs!
