Our Weekend (Food, Fitness, And Easter)

Well hey there, everyone! I am currently rocking my little one (who fights naps these days). How was your weekend? We had fun celebrating baby K’s first Easter with my husband’s family.

We were supposed to celebrate on Saturday with my family, but my sweet niece was hospitalized with RSV. We are praying that she is on the mend, but it was rough for a while. Please keep her in your thoughts and prayers.

Now….onto the weekend…

FRIDAY:

I was able to get in a HIIT workout while baby sat in her swing and watched me.

Dinner was buffalo ranch chicken sandwiches and broccoli with cheese.

SATURDAY:

The day started with coffee and family time before I headed to the gym for a strength class.

My workout felt great.

The rest of the day, my husband organized and I entertained baby.

Once I got her to bed we ordered Chinese and watched a movie.

We both dozed off because parent life is exhausting (but so wonderful).

SUNDAY:

We had a rough morning. Baby slept poorly and we had to get us all ready to head to my husband’s home town. The baby cried a lot and we had a rough time getting out the door, but the rest of the day went so well.

We met his parents for church, then had lunch at their house.

After lunch, we played with the dogs.

We then made our rounds to all the aunts and uncles houses to meet the baby! We headed home early evening. Baby K was exhausted and slept so well! So did her mamma!

It was a lovely Easter!

Now I’m off to try to get the little one down for a nap. Have a great week!

With love,

Carly

Diary Of An Exhausted, Blessed Mamma, And This Week In Food And Fitness

Hi, all!

This week has really tested me. Just when I thought I was on the mend from whatever illness that had creeped up on me, Monday proved otherwise. I felt bad all day, and my 2 month old has been extremely demanding lately. Usually, I’m able to keep up with her, but with not feeling well I was struggling. Monday evening was the worst of it, but I felt bad all the way through Thursday.

There were times I wanted to cry because she needed my attention, and I needed sleep.

Yes, her face is covered in milk. I cleaned her right after this haha.

Mom life doesn’t stop just because you aren’t 100 percent.

I powered through the week, and woke up today feeling SO much better. I have had so much fun playing with my busy baby today.

I guess this is just a reminder to myself that even when the days are long, that sweet face smiles at you and it makes everything worth it.

Sweet girl with her daddy (hence the hairy legs lol)!!!

As for a food a food and fitness update…

I felt good enough for normal food and some excercise by Wednesday. My mom watched the baby while I went to a barbell strength class and picked up lunch at Northstar Cafe.

My wonderful mom visits each Wednesday to hang out with us and lets me sneak off to the gym. She is moving here this summer and I can’t wait!!

The only other workouts this week have been the elliptical and bike. I’m hoping baby has a decent nap today so I can do a hiit workout.

Last night, the hubs and I had a frozen garlic chicken and pasta meal. Baby was bathed and in bed by 8. I am loving this bedtime. She has slept so well lately and I am praying it continues.

That’s about all for today! We have a super busy weekend.

Have a good one!

With love,

Carly

A Low Key, Family-Filled Weekend

Hi, all! I am writing this in the bath, trying to get rid of whatever stomach issues I am having. I went to bed feeling okay, but when baby woke up to eat I had a bad sour stomach and it hasn’t gone away. Thankfully, my husband is being super dad and watching the little one! He has also been cleaning all day.

Anyway….our weekend has been great (minus me feeling bad).

Let’s recap:

FRIDAY NIGHT:

My girlfriend came over and we grabbed Whole Foods for dinner and ate at my house.

They have the yummiest salad bar!

We chatted a while, and hung out until my little one got so fussy that I put her down for bed.

SATURDAY:

The day started slow, with coffee and family time. Me and baby K’s swim suits came in, as well as her adorable new sleeper. I played dress up with her, that’s for sure!

Frappuccino sleeper and her adorable flamingo suit. Ahhh…that sweet, chubby baby is the best!

Later in the day, I went to the gym for a lifting class! It felt great.

Afterwards, I picked up Whole Foods for lunch, as well as getting us stuff for dinner.

When I got home, we took a family walk because the weather was so beautiful! It was wonderful spending time with just my husband and baby.

When we got back, we relaxed a bit before giving the baby a bath. She was absolutely exhausted, so bed time came early for her! Once I got her down, I took a shower and my husband cooked us dinner.

It was delicious!

We also rented the movie Bumblebee (I only slept through a little of it…haha).

SUNDAY:

The baby didn’t sleep as well as I would have hoped, plus my stomach has been a mess. Today, I planned on cleaning and grocery shopping, but all I’ve done is picked up the kitchen, snuggled my baby, and taken a bath. Hopefully I will get a second wind so I can feel accomplished before Game Of Thrones tonight!!

That’s about all for this recap. Have a great week!

With love,

Carly

Fit Friday-Mom Edition #3

Hello and happy Friday, friends!! I am enjoying my Starbucks this morning and waiting for the stormy weather to hit. My sweet baby is napping (but probably not for long).

The days have been crazy busy since baby K takes fewer and shorter naps, but oh she sleeps like a champ at night! Yay!!

We have had a great week, minus her 2 month shots. Guys….my heart shattered during those. Her face was pure shock, followed by both of us crying. I was so thankful my husband was there to calm her down. Ugh.

Anyway….lets start with some food this week….

Salmon, potatoes and peppers, and Hawaiian rolls

Grilled chicken, cauliflower mac cheese (YUM), and a salad.

Whole Foods salad bar.

My husband has pretty much taken over the main cooking duties because baby is demanding in the evenings.

WORKOUTS:

*outside runs (we have had some nice weather)

*elliptical

*pure barre videos

*walks with baby

*a barbell strength class (thanks to my mom for babysitting)

I also consider carrying around my 11 pound baby all day a workout haha!

OTHER:

We visited dad at work this week and had lunch. It was so fun!

Baby also got to see all of her grandparents and her uncles! What a great week.

This weekend we are hoping to purge some things from the house.

Have a great one, all!

With love,

Carly

Our Weekend Of Food, Fitness, And Our First Family Outing

Hello, everyone! I hope the weekend treated you well, and got you ready for another week. Ours was eventful, as we finally went out as a family (it only took 7 weeks) haha! Here is the recap:

FRIDAY NIGHT:

We had a tough night with the little one. She screamed most of the evening, and nothing seemed to calm her down. I had to eat dinner while rocking her, which has become the norm around here. My husband grilled for us and dinner was tasty!

Burgers, sweet potatoes, and cheesy broccoli!

SATURDAY:

We had a much happier baby on Saturday and it was so fun! I went to a lifting class at the gym, which kicked my butt, but felt so good! I have missed lifting more than 5 pounds.

After the gym, I fed the little one, then my husband, baby girl, and I went to Scramblers for brunch. Baby did wonderful and slept the whole time! The food was absolutely delicious! It felt awesome getting out as a family.

I had the veggie benny, fruit, and turkey sausage links.

After brunch, and some hanging at home, baby had a bath. That evening, we rented a movie.

SUNDAY:

The day started with Starbucks and church with my work bestie. It was so much fun to catch up with her!! I go back to work in May and even though I will miss the little one terribly, I will enjoy seeing my bestie every day again!

The rest of the day was spent with a sleepy baby and some house work.

How cute is she in her unicorn dress??

My in-laws came over and hung out and made dinner.

Salad, chicken, veggies, and cauliflower mac and cheese.

When they left, I put baby to bed and watched The Walking Dead with my husband.

So there you have it! Our weekend was lovely and now on to another week. Have a great one!

With love,

Carly
