A Fit Mamma And Baby Update

Hello, all! I feel like I have been so sporadic with my writing because I have been so busy. Ever since my sweet girl turned one her schedule has changed so much. I fear that she has already dropped to one nap, and she is everywhere! Gosh, isn’t she so cute though?? I tried on her new swimsuit and hat. We are ready for warm weather.

She is getting molars, and I hate seeing her in pain. I do have teething oil and chew toys! One night we had to use tylenol because it was so bad. She is full of energy, and learns new things each day. My favorite thing is that she growls at the jaguar in her animal book. She really is the best baby!!

MOM UPDATE:

I have been doing my best to stay healthy, and continue having balance in my life. On Friday, I got to go out for a glass of wine with my bestie from my old job! It was much needed. I love every time we get together. I am on constant mom dudy (which I love), but time with friends is so important.

My little family got out on a walk yesterday, which was so nice! It was chilly, but very sunny. The baby loved looking around, and my husband and I enjoyed chatting.

Hubs and I rented Rocketman after the baby went to bed last night. We both really enjoyed it!!

FOOD:

I didn’t take a whole lot of pictures this past week, but here are a couple dinners!

Roast (I put mine on a sandwich thin) with potatoes and carrots.

Chickpea pasta with meat sauce!

FITNESS:

*I got out for a run this week because we had a day of mild weather! It felt so good!!

*Barre

*Spinning

*Elliptical

*Upper body RX class

Today, we are planning going out to breakfast as a family! I’m so excited. I also need to grocery shop and get some cleaning done.

I am off to finish my coffee before the baby gets up.

Have a wonderful day!

With love,

Carly

Weekend Wrap-Up And A One Year Old

Hi all! Well, my baby turned one yesterday! This past year has been nothing short of amazing, and I adore this sweet girl more than anything in the world. She has the best personality, and is simply a blast. Days were hard when I first started this motherhood journey, but I figured it all out, and LOVE hanging with this cutie every day! She is absolutely everywhere and gets into everything, so it is never a dull moment haha!

How cute is she with her healthy smash donut??

Even though I could gush on her all day I will move on lol!

FRIDAY NIGHT:

The hubs and I were sent deep dish pizzas, so we made those for dinner. We made a supreme and a cheese. Both were delicious! The sauce went on top!

SATURDAY:

Hubs let me sneak out to the gym for an Upper RX class. It felt so good!

That afternoon, baby K had her Valentine’s pictures and she was absolutely adorable!

After we put her down for bed, I had a quick dinner because my husband already ate. We rented a movie called Fighting With My Family and it was really good! I stayed awake the whole time…yay! Haha.

SUNDAY:

Baby decided that she didn’t want to nap all day which is so unlike her! We had a busy day, full of two birthday parties.

Party 1: her little friend from gym class. They are only two days apart in age! This picture melts me!

Party 2: My husband’s co-worker’s little girl turned two! Her party was at a play place and it was so fun for the littles. We enjoyed catching up with friends, too!

Baby slept SO well last night!

This week, I will be doing the last minute things for Baby K’s “Sweet One” birthday party on Saturday! I am so excited!!

That’s all for this update!

Have a great week!

With love,

Carly

Foodie Friday-Eats From This Week

Hello, all! Happy Friday! I just got the baby to bed, and am eating leftovers. My husband is going out with friends tonight, so I’m trying to find something good to watch on Netflix.

This past week was a trying week for us. I won’t go into details, but I sure am glad it is coming to an end. I will say that hugs and kisses from my sweet little girl heal my heart. Gosh, I love her more than anything!!

Another positive to the week was good food! I decided to mix up our meals, and was so glad I did. I love making healthier versions of typically unhealthy food.

We had loaded nachos on Monday, and they hit the spot. I make two different versions for my husband and myself. Mine had bean chips, lean ground beef, black bean and corn salsa, cheese, and lime juice. I wanted plain greek yogurt to sub for sour cream, but didn’t have any. This meal was excellent!

Another night, we had buffalo ranch chicken sandwiches. I used a rotisserie chicken, one packet of ranch seasoning, and buffalo wing sauce. I put mine on an English muffin with cheese. Easy, and so delicious! Of course I had a salad with it!

I had a friend come over last night, and decided to make a chicken noodle casserole. It had whole wheat egg noodles, tons of mixed vegetables, cream of chicken, cream of celery, milk, and chicken. It was great! That is tonight’s dinner as well!

Those are just a few favorites!

That’s about all for today, all. I hope you have an excellent weekend! I am looking forward to relaxing and catching up on all of your posts.

With love,

Carly

Food, Fitness, Friendships, And Baby Love

Happy happy Friday, all! I can’t believe Christmas is so soon. All of my shopping is done, and I just need to wrap. Our festivities start this weekend, as we are traveling to my husband’s hometown to see his whole family!

Having our sweet girl this year is beyond special, and I am so excited to watch her enjoy her very first Christmas!

Side note: doesn’t she look so cute with her first ponytail?! She is seriously the sweetest thing.

This week has been wonderful! Between Bugs class with baby K, good food, time with friends, and evenings with my husband, my heart is so happy.

I got to see a friend who has been in Mozambique (she was in the peace corps) for two and a half years. She came over to meet baby K, then we did a wine tasting and caught up! Being with these ladies brought me so much joy!! Our friend (in the middle) is heading back to Mozambique next week, and is planning on working and staying long-term. We will certainly miss her, but can’t wait to hear more wonderful stories!!

Today, I got to spend time with my best friend! We got coffee, went shopping, and had a delicious lunch at Northstar Cafe.

We both had the Thai Basil Burrito with broccoli and peanut sauce! Yum!!!

I have absolutely loved spending time with wonderful friends!!

FITNESS THIS WEEK:

*Barre workout videos

*Spartan 500 workout (via: Fitnessblender)

FOOD FAVORITES THIS WEEK:

Let’s Have A Christmas Time Coffee Date

Hello, all! It has been a while since I’ve posted, and with the Christmas season upon us, I thought I’d update you over some coffee (or maybe a peppermint mocha)!

CHRISTMAS FUN:

Last weekend was a busy one for us, but so fun! We had family pictures on Saturday, and they turned out so perfect!

On Sunday, we had baby K’s Christmas party at her gym class. She met Santa, and looked absolutely adorable! She did well, and was mostly interested in Mrs. Claus’ glasses.

The next couple of weeks will be full of more holiday festivities!

On Monday, my little lady turned 10 months old. I just can’t believe how much she has grown! She is the absolute sweetest, and I can’t get over how blessed we are.

FITNESS:

I am still managing to sneak off to the gym a few times a week, which is so nice! Some of my favorite classes this past week were gluteus maxout and spinning! The other days, I utilized YouTube, my elliptical, and the hotel gym (we were there for my husband’s work Christmas party).

FOOD:

I’ve been slacking on food pictures, but these are a couple favorites from the week.

Chickpea pasta with meat sauce.

Sweet potatoes, chicken sausage, and french onion soup seasoning with just a little water to make a sauce. It was so tasty!!

OTHER FUN:

I got to see one of my very best friends, and get out of the house for a bit! We did a wine tasting, and had an absolute blast catching up! I miss working with her so much. I get to see her again this upcoming week, which makes my heart so happy!

We went to Kalahari for my husband’s work Christmas party on Thursday. Kalahari is a hotel/resort that has a huge indoor water park, game room, restaurants, etc. It was my first night away from the baby which was hard, but we had a lot of fun! We did all the rides and enjoyed drinks from the hot tub bar. Plus, it wasn’t crowded at all being a week day! We have been on a weekend before and it was packed.

When we got home the next day, the baby was so excited to see us, and gave me the biggest hug and kiss. Talk about melting my heart!! Gosh, I love that kid.

That’s about all for this update. The baby is finally napping, so I am off to clean. I plan on catching up on all of your posts this evening! I can’t wait to see what everyone has been up to!

Have a wonderful weekend, all!

With love,

Carly
