Thursday Thoughts-Another Year Older And My Goals

Hello, everyone! I am officially on spring break from work and I am SO happy about it! We leave for Nashville tomorrow to visit my cousin and kick off break. Whooo!!!

After work today, a few co-workers and I went to a wine tasting, and my work bestie asked me what my goals were for this next year of my life. It is crazy to think that next year I will be 30. Wasn’t I just 16 and driving for the first time?!

I have been doing a lot of reflecting lately, and here are my goals for this next year of my life:

1) Take More Risks- I have always stayed within my comfort zone, but I am learning that good things come to risk takers. I took a risk on a part time online teaching job and got it, so I would like to keep this going with my full time career.

2) Be Patient With Pregnacy- My pregnancy journey hasn’t been as easy as I thought it would be, but I trust in God’s timing.

3) Continue To Work On Body Positivity-This is something I have struggled with for many years. It’s not always easy, but I want to love every bit of myself.

4) Pray More-I have finally found a church that I love, but I want to spend more time praying and doing devotions.

5) Make New Recipes-I have always loved cooking, but I want to get back into making new recipes of my own.

6) Coninue Setting Goals For MyselfI hope to make new goals throughout the year.

Well, there you have it! What are some of your goals?! I’d love to hear!

Have a wonderful rest of your day!

A Look Back And Moving Forward

Hello and happy almost 2018! If you have any plans tonight please be safe!! I will be drinking wine on my couch with my hubby and cats.

This year has had highs, lows, and everything in between. I wanted to share some of those, as well as some hopes for the new year.

  • We bought a house! We have worked SO hard to make it homey and it sure paid off. We are beyond greatful for our families and all of the help they have given to us.
  • I found a church that I love and I am so thankful for that.
  • We took fun trips! 2 Nashville visits, Gun Lake, and North Carolina. We are so blessed to be able to travel.
  • My niece was born beautiful and healthy!
  • We celebrated 2 years of marriage. Being married to such a hard working, selfless man has been such a blessing.
  • I started this blog! I have learned so much about myself and love the journey it has taken me on.
  • My whole family celebrated Christmas together. It has been 6 years (at my dad’s funeral) since we have all been together. Being able to reconcile the past is so amazing and I couldn’t ask for more.
  • My husband and I tried (and failed) at getting pregnant. I also started fertility meds, and I am greatful for the options available. I didn’t know if I would share that, but it is an important topic to talk about. I have been through so many emotions, but have an amazing support system!

Overall it has been an awesome year and I am excited to grow in 2018.

2018 GOALS

  • Continue to grow my blog. This is such a great outlet for me and I have met some incredible people.
  • Continue trying for a baby! I pray not to get frustrated with the process.
  • Be more consistent in church and devotions.
  • Continue having a healthy lifestyle. I have worked hard on my health and fitness goals, and am proud of the balance I have.
  • Grow as a wife, friend, daughter, sister, and overall person.

Thanks for reading and happy New Year to you all!

With love,

Weekend Food, A Sad Goodbye, And A New School Year

Hello, lovely people! How are you all doing on this beautiful Sunday? I am doing my best to relax and make some goals for the upcoming school year. If you don’t know, I teach in a special needs Kindergarten class. I love it so much, but it can be hard. Plus the anticipation has been stressful. So for now, I am relaxing with essential oils and Epsom salt.

Bath time relaxation!

How do you relax when when faced with stress?

The main goals for the upcoming year are patience, planning, and making sure I start each day with a good attitude.

With that being said, bring on another year!

Now onto the weekend!

I started with a workout and coffee as always. Then, I met a couple friends from work. These two have been my rock each day at work. I teach with them and they make my days brighter and just plain fun.

The pretty one in the middle is off to Mozambique for two years to be in the Peace Corps. She is amazing and has a heart for kids like I have never seen. I’m blessed to know her.

Once dinner rolled around, I was starving so my made one of my favorite meals. A taco salad!

This has a baked foldout as the base, lean ground beef with low sodium taco seasoning, brown rice, part of a salad kit, guacamole, salsa, plain greek yogurt, jalapenos, and some purple tortilla chips. Talk about tasty!

The day started with coffee and a workout. Then it was house work before our date night!

For date night we went to dinner at PF Changs (which is upscale Chinese food) followed by a movie at home.

Me all ready for dinner!

Shrimp dumplings.

California roll!

It was a fun night!

The day started with Starbucks and a wonderful church service.

Followed by a protein shake which was amazing.

Chocolate peanut butter protein powder, almond milk, and a frozen banana. Topped with protein PB cups!

My in laws are coming over today to help us put the trim up in our living room! Then we will have dinner!

Have a wonderful rest of your day!

Legs And Chest Workout Plus My Summer Goals

Happy Friday, friends! We made it through the week and after today, I have officially made it through another school year!! I am so pumped for this break. We have had a hell of a year and it is time to relax. I am getting a cold, which is upsetting because my friend and I are leaving for Nahsville on Sunday. I am just going to try to rest and drink a ton of fluids!!

I wanted to share a quick workout with you guys. I did this yesterday morning and it was a good one. Some people don’t like doing chest and legs together, but I do, so I figured I’d share. This has a cardio option in it, but to save time I didn’t do it.

I focused a lot on my form and slowing down. I can sure feel it today!

*note that I am not a personal trainer and only post workouts that work for me and my body.

Next, I always see people posting goals, so I decided to make a summer goal list!

  1. Learn more about blogging! I have already learned so much since starting Caffeinatedcarly, and want to take more time investing into my blog and the blogging community.
  2.  Take better pictures. I love the beautiful pictures I see on so many blogs and I want to work on mine. I eventually want to invest in a nice camera!
  3. Slow down, take a breath, and cherish my family. I want to spend quality time with my family. No phones, or distractions, just making memories.
  4. Cook more and try a variety of foods! I want to branch out and try dishes that I never would have tried before.
  5. Find ways to de-stress. More yoga and meditation for my anxiety! I went off of medicine in hopes of trying for a little one soon, so I want to find more natural ways of coping with my stress/anxiety.

I am sure more will pop up, but for now that is it!!😊

Before I go, I will share my awesome morning pictures of a jog around my neighborhood, followed by avocado toast with an egg and hot sauce for breakfast!

Such a peaceful run with pretty views!

My tasty toast!! I also had a yogurt with mixed nuts! YUM!!!

I hope you guys have an awesome weekend! I can’t wait to recap my Nashville trip!

Talk to you all soon!!

With love,
