Fall Activities With Toddlers

Hello, and happy Sunday! My little one developed quite the cold overnight and feels pretty yucky. She is trying to sleep on my husband, and I am laying next to them. The changing weather always does this. Ugh!

Fall has always been my favorite season, despite the sickness that seems to come every year. The weather is perfect to get outside without being too hot or cold. We have had an absolute blast this Fall. K is so fun and curious this year and I absolutely love it! I am going to share some of our favorite things we have done so far (all while socially distancing).

Farm fun! K got to feed goats, have fall muffins, take a hayride, and pick pumpkins.
Choosing the perfect pumpkin.
Painging gourds and pumpkins! We put her in just a diaper when she painted her pumpkin and she ended up painting herself, too! It was so fun and messy!
We did a hayride during the weekday when there was only a few other people at the local farm. It was a great way to spend the afternoon!
Halloween stickers! K absolutely loves these!! My mom got her a ton from the dollar tree.

We have also done apple picking and a lot of baking!

If she is better by next weekend, we plan on going to Boo at the Zoo.

Well friends, that’s all for today. I am off to spend the day cuddled up with my sweet family!

All my love,

Carly

Fit Friday And Other Favorites

Hello, and happy Friday! Another week in the house, and I am still staying busy with a very active 14 month old.

Let’s talk favorites from the week…

FITNESS:

On the warm days, I put K in the stroller and take my workouts outside. I like to run, do hills, stroller barre, and bands.

On colder days, I have been trying to get more creative inside. I like to do YouTube workouts, especially ones using the loop bands.

I also run the stairs in my house, use the elliptical, and do yoga.

FOOD:

Grilled turkey burger and veggies.

A loaded salad! One of my favorite things.

My mom treated me and K to Northstar Cafe for a curbside pickup today! It was so nice of her, especially since we aren’t able to see her right now. I had the pesto basil burrito with broccoli and peanut sauce. K had the kids quesadillas with broccoli! YUM.

She sure loved her meal!

We both have leftovers, too! Yay!

BABY FUN:

K got to color Easter eggs! She had so much fun, and snuck some tastes of whipped cream haha

We have also been coloring, playing with pots/pans, splashing in water, and reading tons of books!

OTHER:

*True Crime Podcasts

*The Libby app for my kindle. It is linked to my library card and I can read tons of books.

*Shutterfly! I have been finally working on K’s photo album from her first year.

That’s about all for today. Have a wonderful weekend and Easter!

With love,

Carly

Memories, Loss, And Family Time

Hello, all!

It seems like it has been forever since I have posted. My days have been so busy, as I am loving on my sweet baby girl and husband. Our weekend was busy, but it filled my heart more than anything.

FRIDAY:

After teaching online, I packed up myself and the baby and hit the road to my hometown. Our first stop was my best friend’s house to visit! She has four littles, and I just adore them. It was fun to have our children together.

Next up, we met my mom and niece at my father’s grave. We lost him in 2012 to brain cancer. It is so important to bring baby K. Her grandpa would love her more than anything. He sure left a wonderful legacy with his 5 grandchildren! He is SO missed.

After that, we headed to my grandmother’s house. She is 95 years old, and the most amazing woman! I could tell it meant so much for us to be there. Being at her house with my daughter brought back so many memories of when I was little. It was always a full house. We had so much fun!

I was exhausted by the time we got home. So was the baby!

SATURDAY:

The day started slow, which I absolutely love.

I went for a 3 mile run during baby’s first nap.

Later in the afternoon, we went back to Boo At The Zoo! We went last weekend, too. It was SO much fun!! We saw a lot of animals, then had baby meet Captain Marvel and Ironman. She was fascinated with them and their costumes.

She slept well that night!

SUNDAY:

We all started the day at church, but baby K was so fussy we had to leave! We tried to rock her, but this kid only naps in her crib or the car. She is getting dedicated this upcoming Sunday, so let’s hope she stays happy! Haha.

I went to yoga during her nap because my back has been hurting so bad! It felt amazing.

I did some laundry and went to the grocery store as well.

After her second nap, we all loaded up to meet my husband’s family at Alum Creek. It is a little beach and lake about half an hour from us. They brought the jetskis and we got to ride while the grandparents played with baby.

Once she got fussy, we left to get her home for bed!

We had such a great weekend!

I hope you all are having a great week so far! I’m excited to catch up on your blogs today!

With love,

Carly

Weekend Wrap-Up (Food, Fitness, And “Boo At The Zoo”)

Hello, all and happy Sunday! We had such a great day, but I am beat. This weekend finally felt completely like Fall. I love it SO much. The weather, the food, getting cozy by the fireplace, and taking my sweet girl to enjoy all the fun festivities!

Here is a little recap of our weekend…

SATURDAY:

The day started with coffee by the fireplace. We had some family time until the baby went down for her morning nap. I snuck off to the gym for an upper body workout class!

When I got home, baby and I took a walk, then sat outside watching my husband work on the yard. Baby waved at daddy while he mowed (she recently learned that skill)!

When she went down for her afternoon nap, I put on a podcast and got to cleaning the house. I worked until she woke up.

The rest of the day was spent playing and another long stroller walk.

For dinner, we made cornbread and chili! It hit the spot and was so perfect for a cool night.

After dinner, we relaxed and watched TV until bed.

SUNDAY:

The morning was chilly, so I bundled up and had some coffee by the fireplace. When the baby woke up, I fed her and we played until her nap. Once she got up and had some fruit, we headed to “Boo at the Zoo.”

They had different themes around the park and the kids got to trick-or-treat.

My little dragon😍

We were so glad grandma could come, too!

We had so much fun! The baby loved looking at the displays and other kids. My mom got us a family pass as an early Christmas gift, so we decided that we will come back next weekend to catch the things we missed today.

When we got home, we ate and the baby took a nap. I did a quick grocery run, then took a walk with my mom and little one.

The baby went down early. She was wiped out from such a fun day!

That’s all for this recap….

Have a great week, everyone!

With love,

Carly

Our Beach Vacation-Outer Banks, North Carolina

Hello, friends! After a long, crazy drive yesterday, we made it home from North Carolina. Our vacation with my family was so much fun! I am glad to be home with my kitties though. They gave us the best greetings last night!

We had a beautiful week! The weather was gorgeous, and we enjoyed plenty of beach time. Our house was adorable and only a short walk (maybe 2 minutes) to the beach.

Some activites we did included:

Shopping in Manteo (which is the cutest little town)…

Visiting the Bodie lighthouse:

A big dinner night at Rundown Cafe:

And lots of beach hangs…

How stinking cute is my niece?!

We ate some delicious food:

And I had a tasty virgin pina colada….

I had some lovely beach runs, did a beach yoga class with my sister in law, and went for a mile swim!

Most of all, I enjoyed the time with my family! I am so blessed.

Now it is back to reality!

Enjoy your Sunday!

With love,

Carly
