Memories, Loss, And Family Time

Hello, all!

It seems like it has been forever since I have posted. My days have been so busy, as I am loving on my sweet baby girl and husband. Our weekend was busy, but it filled my heart more than anything.

FRIDAY:

After teaching online, I packed up myself and the baby and hit the road to my hometown. Our first stop was my best friend’s house to visit! She has four littles, and I just adore them. It was fun to have our children together.

Next up, we met my mom and niece at my father’s grave. We lost him in 2012 to brain cancer. It is so important to bring baby K. Her grandpa would love her more than anything. He sure left a wonderful legacy with his 5 grandchildren! He is SO missed.

After that, we headed to my grandmother’s house. She is 95 years old, and the most amazing woman! I could tell it meant so much for us to be there. Being at her house with my daughter brought back so many memories of when I was little. It was always a full house. We had so much fun!

I was exhausted by the time we got home. So was the baby!

SATURDAY:

The day started slow, which I absolutely love.

I went for a 3 mile run during baby’s first nap.

Later in the afternoon, we went back to Boo At The Zoo! We went last weekend, too. It was SO much fun!! We saw a lot of animals, then had baby meet Captain Marvel and Ironman. She was fascinated with them and their costumes.

She slept well that night!

SUNDAY:

We all started the day at church, but baby K was so fussy we had to leave! We tried to rock her, but this kid only naps in her crib or the car. She is getting dedicated this upcoming Sunday, so let’s hope she stays happy! Haha.

I went to yoga during her nap because my back has been hurting so bad! It felt amazing.

I did some laundry and went to the grocery store as well.

After her second nap, we all loaded up to meet my husband’s family at Alum Creek. It is a little beach and lake about half an hour from us. They brought the jetskis and we got to ride while the grandparents played with baby.

Once she got fussy, we left to get her home for bed!

We had such a great weekend!

I hope you all are having a great week so far! I’m excited to catch up on your blogs today!

With love,

Carly

Weekend Wrap-Up (Food, Fitness, And “Boo At The Zoo”)

Hello, all and happy Sunday! We had such a great day, but I am beat. This weekend finally felt completely like Fall. I love it SO much. The weather, the food, getting cozy by the fireplace, and taking my sweet girl to enjoy all the fun festivities!

Here is a little recap of our weekend…

SATURDAY:

The day started with coffee by the fireplace. We had some family time until the baby went down for her morning nap. I snuck off to the gym for an upper body workout class!

When I got home, baby and I took a walk, then sat outside watching my husband work on the yard. Baby waved at daddy while he mowed (she recently learned that skill)!

When she went down for her afternoon nap, I put on a podcast and got to cleaning the house. I worked until she woke up.

The rest of the day was spent playing and another long stroller walk.

For dinner, we made cornbread and chili! It hit the spot and was so perfect for a cool night.

After dinner, we relaxed and watched TV until bed.

SUNDAY:

The morning was chilly, so I bundled up and had some coffee by the fireplace. When the baby woke up, I fed her and we played until her nap. Once she got up and had some fruit, we headed to “Boo at the Zoo.”

They had different themes around the park and the kids got to trick-or-treat.

My little dragon😍

We were so glad grandma could come, too!

We had so much fun! The baby loved looking at the displays and other kids. My mom got us a family pass as an early Christmas gift, so we decided that we will come back next weekend to catch the things we missed today.

When we got home, we ate and the baby took a nap. I did a quick grocery run, then took a walk with my mom and little one.

The baby went down early. She was wiped out from such a fun day!

That’s all for this recap….

Have a great week, everyone!

With love,

Carly

Our Beach Vacation-Outer Banks, North Carolina

Hello, friends! After a long, crazy drive yesterday, we made it home from North Carolina. Our vacation with my family was so much fun! I am glad to be home with my kitties though. They gave us the best greetings last night!

We had a beautiful week! The weather was gorgeous, and we enjoyed plenty of beach time. Our house was adorable and only a short walk (maybe 2 minutes) to the beach.

Some activites we did included:

Shopping in Manteo (which is the cutest little town)…

Visiting the Bodie lighthouse:

A big dinner night at Rundown Cafe:

And lots of beach hangs…

How stinking cute is my niece?!

We ate some delicious food:

And I had a tasty virgin pina colada….

I had some lovely beach runs, did a beach yoga class with my sister in law, and went for a mile swim!

Most of all, I enjoyed the time with my family! I am so blessed.

Now it is back to reality!

Enjoy your Sunday!

With love,

Carly

Weekend Wrap-Up (Food, Fitness, Friends, And Shopping)

Hi, everyone!! How was your weekend? This post is a day later than usual, plus I’m behind on reading everyone’s blog posts. I blame the Handmaid’s Tale for sucking me in and making me binge watch it every free minute I have haha!

Anyway, since I finally turned off my show, here’s the weekend recap!

FRIDAY NIGHT:

I literally had a whole bunch of sweet potato fries with fancy sauce for dinner.

I snacked some after while my husband and I watched tv.

SATURDAY:

The day started with an express gluteus maxout at my gym. It is only 30 minutes, but so effective!

Afterwards, I picked up my husband so that we could go to lunch at Chipotle. I had veggie tacos and topped them with guacamole! Yum!!

After lunch, I came home and watched TV until my husband remembered to tell me that his friends were coming to stay with us. I had to rush around to clean which stressed me out a bit, but I got it all done.

For dinner, I had whole wheat fish sticks, cauliflower mashed potatoes, and sweet potato fries! It was delicious!!

My husband’s friends showed up around 8 and we took them to Sonic because they were hungry. After they ate, we went to a car show that my city puts on each year. It was fun seeing so many awesome cars.

It started getting late and I was exhausted so we came home and went to bed.

SUNDAY:

We woke up super early because my husband’s shop had a car race they they were putting on. I didn’t go because I haven’t been able to handle the heat and it is a full day event.

When my husband and his friends left for the race I watched some TV, then took a walk. My mom came and spent the day with me which was so nice! We went shopping and just hung out.

Our post shopping tea!

After shopping, we rented I Tonya which was a really good movie!

For dinner, I had mac and cheese with a flip yogurt.

My husband got home late so we went straight to bed!

It was a lovely weekend! Thanks for reading. I can’t wait to catch up on all of your posts!

Our Vacation-Gun Lake, Michigan

Hello, all! We are officially back from vacation #1 (as of yesterday). Despite a minor setback on the way, aka waiting for AAA for 5 hours, we had a fun time. This vacation was with my husband’s family and we go every year. We get cabins and enjoy a week relaxing at the lake.

First, let’s talk food…

We had Chipotle on the way and ate until we were stuffed.

Some food we ate at the lake….

My random eggs, olives, and corn…haha

Yogurt, almond butter and granola while watching the husband fish.

Our one big night out! We went to a brew pup and I got a turkey pita sandwich with apple chutney. I also had soup and cottage cheese.

When we got home yesterday we picked up Fazolis for dinner. I wanted pasta and bread. I was not disappointed.

Next up, some of the lake games we played…

Yard pong!

The voting game…

Bad People (the dirty version of the voting game). I thought mine were so funny!

We also had some fun on the water! We went jetskiing, boating, and spent a day at “party island” where we played water volleyball and other fun games.

Pictures from our evening out…

I also managed some workouts! Most days I ran around the lake, which was beautiful! I also did one workout video and took a couple days off. It’s all about balance!

We had a wonderful week, but man is it good to be home!

I missed my kitties so much!! I also missed my bed lol!

Now off to eat dinner (sausage and bean soup + cornbread muffins) and get back to binge watching the Handmaid’s Tale!

Sorry for the picture overload!

I hope you all have a great week!

With love,

Carly
