Our Weekend Of Food, Friends, Family, Fitness, And Sickness

Hello and happy Sunday, all! Our weekend started out wonderful, but that changed when our sweet daughter became ill. I will get to that, but let’s recap the good parts first.

FRIDAY NIGHT:

I spent a lot of the day cleaning because my husband and I were having our friends over for dinner.

Once I got the baby down, I put out cheese, crackers, and wine to have when our friends came.

When they got to our house, we chatted while my husband grilled steak and salmon. Our friends brought homemade mac and cheese!

Dinner was absolutely delicious, and we had a great time catching up.

After dinner, we played Cards Against Humanity. It was so fun! Such a nice change of pace from watching movies. We talked and laughed so much. When they left, my husband and I cleaned up and headed to bed.

SATURDAY:

The day started with coffee and hanging with the baby. When she went down for a nap, I went to the gym. I did 30 minutes of a spin class, then a short upper body lifting workout. It felt so good!

When I got home, we got ready, and headed off to a food truck festival downtown. It was such a nice family day!!

These two are my absolute favorites!

We waited in the longest line for a food truck called Cousins Maine Lobster. It was actually on the show Shark Tank! Guys, it was SO worth the wait. I had lobster tacos and my husband had the lobster roll.

We also grabbed a meal from Island Noodles, which was delicious! Noodles, veggies, and terriaki chicken! Yum!!!!

We fed the baby a bottle while we ate.

She was exhausted by this point, so we headed out after eating.

When we got home, we played until it was time to get our sweet girl to bed. She fell asleep and we had some leftovers for dinner. We rented the Avengers, and enjoyed some ice cream that we picked up from Kroger earlier in the day.

About an hour into our movie, I heard the baby somewhat gagging on the monitor. My husband ran into her room (I was right behind him) and rolled her onto her side as she started vomiting. I got her in my arms and the vomiting started again. It happened many times, until everything was out of her and it was just dry heaving. My husband did an excellent job staying calm, but I struggled with that. We talked to my husband’s aunt, who is a nurse, and she gave us advice on what to do.

We had her lay with us for a long time, until we knew the vomiting was done. We kept an eye on her the whole night. She slept well thankfully!

SUNDAY:

Baby girl was so hungry when she got up. She was also super happy!!

She has had a great day so far and seems to be 100 percent herself. My husband woke up not feeling well, and I have a sour stomach. Hopefully we don’t get any worse!

It was so terrible seeing our sweet baby in pain. This was the first time she has been really sick and it broke my heart. I’m so glad it was short lived!!

Well, that’s about a for today! I’m hoping to get my laundry all folded before dinner.

Fit Friday-Mom Edition #8

Hi, all! Happy Friday! I am up before the crew, having coffee, and taking a few minutes to myself before I online teach. Do you have any fun weekend plans? Today, my sweet girl has her 6 month checkup. I can’t believe she is 6 months already.

I adore this little sweetie! She is just a blast. She is so happy (minus when her teeth hurt), loves her feet, chews on everything, eats like a champ, and loves taking in her surroundings. She is so chubby, and this mamma stays fit carrying her around all day haha! I honestly can’t believe that I get to be her mommy. God sure has blessed us.

Keeping up with a healthy lifestyle is so important to me. It can be a bit trickier these days, as I have little time to myself, but I sure do try!

FOOD THIS WEEK:

Chicken, corn, and sweet potato fries.

Chickpea pasta with veggie “meatballs” and a salad. This was my first time trying chickpea pasta and I really enjoyed it. It has a distinct taste, though!

Whole Foods salad bar with my mamma and little one. We love having her visit!!

A citrus crunch salad from Northstar Cafe! Baby K and I met with my friend for lunch. It was so fun! She has not seen her since she was 2 weeks old. This salad is amazing and has chicken, peanuts, and mangos. Plus, the peanut dressing is mouthwatering! Yum!!

Those were my favorites from the week. Some days we just throw an easy meal together, but we try to cook and eat as a family most of the time.

FITNESS THIS WEEK:

*HIIT workout video via Fitnessblender on YouTube. Guys, I can’t recommend this YouTube channel enough. They have tons of free videos and they are SO good. They are challenging, and range in level and time. I am sore days later haha!

*Barre workout video

*Elliptical

*Upper body lift at the gym (my mom babysat so I could sneak out)

*Today, I plan on going out for a run because my husband is staying home until baby K’s dr. appointment

Fit Friday And A Mom/Baby Update

Hello, all! Happy Friday!! Do you have any fun weekend plans? We are visiting my family at my absolute favorite winery ever tomorrow. Many of them have not met the baby, and I am so excited for them to finally hold her!

Speaking of my sweet girl, she will be 6 months old a week from today. Time is absolutely flying!

She has gained SO many skills, and I adore watching her grow and show off her sweet personality. She laughs and smiles so big. I could not love this little one more. We spend our days playing, singing, reading, walking, and sitting outside (thank goodness we have had a few cooler days). I am so excited for fall, and constant cooler weather so we can get out even more.

As far as myself, I have been sneaking out to the gym when I can, which helps me be a better mom. I do wish I had more mom friends around because I crave adult conversation at times. I joined a mommy and me class that meets twice a week starting later this month, so that should help!

Now, let’s talk food and fitness…

FOOD:

My mom and I met some friends at BJs Brewhouse on Tuesday for lunch (baby had a hard time unfortunately), but the food was delicious! This salad was from their enlightened menu and it was filling and tasty!

Those are just a few favorites from this week!

FITNESS:

I made it to the gym a few times this week for some classes.

A 45 minute upper body strength class.

A cycle sculpt class.

I have also done hiit workout videos, jogged with baby, and pure barre videos!

That’s about all for this recap! I am off to clean a bit and hopefully sneak a workout in before the baby gets up from her nap!

Fit Friday-Mom Edition #7

Hello all, and happy Friday! I am sitting outside, feeding my sweet girl, covered in vomit and drool, while she snuggles and stares at the trees. Today hasn’t been easy, as my sweetie has had some belly issues, but these little moments where she holds my fingers and takes in the world around her are the absolute best.

Staying busy as a mamma isn’t hard, but staying fit and healthy can be. I try my best to eat healthy and squeeze in some good workouts, too.

Let’s recap my food and fitness from this past week…

FOOD:

Blueberry and jalepeno brats over spinach! This was delicious!!

Whole wheat spaghetti with veggie “meatballs” and a salad.

Whole Foods salad bar with my mamma after mommy and me gym class with baby K! I love when my mom visits!!

Grilled chicken legs and a salad!

Chinese takeout! Yum! I love the Chinese place by us because they offer steamed meals and brown rice. It is delicious.

FITNESS:

MONDAY: I did a hiit workout video after warming up on the elliptical.

TUESDAY: Pure barre video

WEDNESDAY: A hiit treadmill workout at the gym (Thanks for babysitting mom)

THURSDAY: A baby and mom workout video and 20 minutes on the elliptical

FRIDAY: This morning, I did a 45 minute legs intensive pure barre video

Well, now that it has taken me most of the day to write this during baby naps and down time, I am off to play with my little until her bedtime.

Fit Friday And A Mamma Update

Hello and happy Friday, all!! I am nursing my little one (who just had a bath due to her huge blowout at Target), so I finally have a few minutes to write. Yay! This week has been non-stop, and the weekend will be the same way.

Tomorrow, I get to cash in my Mother’s Day present of a spa day! It includes a facial, pedicure, and a massage! I cannot wait! Then, that evening, my husband and I are going to a wedding for a work friend of mine. I am so excited for the whole day and night!

Anyway, back to this week in food, fitness, and all things mom life.

MONDAY:

My mom came over on Monday to hang out since we hadn’t seen her in a few weeks. We each went on vacation and they overlapped. She watched the baby for me while I went to the gym for a dumbbell and stair climber workout. It felt so good!

We went to lunch at Whole Foods, did some shopping, chatted, and enjoyed the day.

My husband’s family went to dinner for my sister-in-law’s birthday, but my mom and I stayed home to get the baby to bed. We ate dinner and watched Shark Tank. It was such a nice day!!

TUESDAY:

My sweet baby girl turned 5 months old! Oh, I love her so. She is constantly gaining new skills, and I adore her personality. She is perfect, chubby, funny, and beyond loveable!!

For my workout, I did 30 minutes on the elliptical during her naptime.

Dinner was a crab cake, sweet potato, and rice!

WEDNESDAY:

I went for a 3 mile run before my husband headed to work. The weather was perfect that morning and it felt so good!

Afterwards, I got ready and headed to my hometown with the baby to visit my best friend and her 4 kiddos. We talked, had coffee and lunch, and just enjoyed being together.

It was so much fun!!

I headed home after lunch and baby did well in the car.

Dinner was a veggie burger, plantain, and salad! So tasty!

We rented a movie and ate while we watched it!

THURSDAY:

My workout that morning was an upper body barre video. It was a good one!

Baby and I had our first mommy and me gym class. It was so fun having her around other little ones!! She was laughing and enjoying herself so much!

She was exhausted and went to bed extra early!

Dinner was chicken, rice, and a salad!

FRIDAY:

This morning, I did a lower body barre workout video and a 15 minute hiit video. It felt great!!

Baby and I went to lunch with my work bestie and it was so nice!

The rest of the day will be spent doing house stuff and playing with baby K until her bedtime!
