A Life Update (Motherhood, Sickness, Teething, Food, And Fitness)

Hello, all! I am currently sitting here watching TV, and beyond ready for my husband to be home. He has been gone all weekend at a wedding, and I’m not expecting him home until around 1am. The baby and I stayed home because it would have been way too much travel for her in just a couple days.

Anyway, when I last wrote, I was getting over a terrible stomach bug. Unfortunately, my husband got it, too. He woke me up super early Tuesday morning saying he was up most of the night feeling queasy. He threw up right after that. I felt so bad because he got it from me. He stayed home from work for two days. I cleaned and disinfected like crazy when he felt better. Luckily, the baby didn’t get it!

The baby and I still had some fun though!

She LOVES gym class!! The Little Gym Of Polaris has been a saving grace for me. Baby K is making friends (so am I), developing new skills, and has so much fun every week.

This sweet kid had her 9 month appointment, and took her shots like a champ! She only screamed for a little bit.

Let’s talk teething…

Ugh, it is awful. She has had a couple nights where she struggled to go down because she was screaming. I have found that teething oil (benzocaine free), tylenol (when necessary), and lots of things to chew on help!

Now, onto food…

I didn’t cook much during the week since my husband was sick and I just threw stuff together for myself. We had pasta on Monday (before he got the bug). Mine had chickpea noodles with a meat sauce.

My mom spent yesterday and a good portion of today with me! It was so nice and extremely helpful!! Love you, mom! We had Jersey Mike’s and rented a movie last night!

After getting the baby down, I made a cauliflower crust pizza and salad for tonight’s dinner! Yum!

*Cycle Sculpt class at the gym

*Upper Body Extreme class at the Gym

Well, that’s about all for this update! The rest of my evening will be spent snuggling the cats, watching the baby monitor, enjoying some TV, and waiting on the hubs!

Memories, Loss, And Family Time

Hello, all!

It seems like it has been forever since I have posted. My days have been so busy, as I am loving on my sweet baby girl and husband. Our weekend was busy, but it filled my heart more than anything.

FRIDAY:

After teaching online, I packed up myself and the baby and hit the road to my hometown. Our first stop was my best friend’s house to visit! She has four littles, and I just adore them. It was fun to have our children together.

Next up, we met my mom and niece at my father’s grave. We lost him in 2012 to brain cancer. It is so important to bring baby K. Her grandpa would love her more than anything. He sure left a wonderful legacy with his 5 grandchildren! He is SO missed.

After that, we headed to my grandmother’s house. She is 95 years old, and the most amazing woman! I could tell it meant so much for us to be there. Being at her house with my daughter brought back so many memories of when I was little. It was always a full house. We had so much fun!

I was exhausted by the time we got home. So was the baby!

SATURDAY:

The day started slow, which I absolutely love.

I went for a 3 mile run during baby’s first nap.

Later in the afternoon, we went back to Boo At The Zoo! We went last weekend, too. It was SO much fun!! We saw a lot of animals, then had baby meet Captain Marvel and Ironman. She was fascinated with them and their costumes.

She slept well that night!

SUNDAY:

We all started the day at church, but baby K was so fussy we had to leave! We tried to rock her, but this kid only naps in her crib or the car. She is getting dedicated this upcoming Sunday, so let’s hope she stays happy! Haha.

I went to yoga during her nap because my back has been hurting so bad! It felt amazing.

I did some laundry and went to the grocery store as well.

After her second nap, we all loaded up to meet my husband’s family at Alum Creek. It is a little beach and lake about half an hour from us. They brought the jetskis and we got to ride while the grandparents played with baby.

Once she got fussy, we left to get her home for bed!

We had such a great weekend!

Weekend Wrap-Up (Food, Fitness, And “Boo At The Zoo”)

Hello, all and happy Sunday! We had such a great day, but I am beat. This weekend finally felt completely like Fall. I love it SO much. The weather, the food, getting cozy by the fireplace, and taking my sweet girl to enjoy all the fun festivities!

Here is a little recap of our weekend…

SATURDAY:

The day started with coffee by the fireplace. We had some family time until the baby went down for her morning nap. I snuck off to the gym for an upper body workout class!

When I got home, baby and I took a walk, then sat outside watching my husband work on the yard. Baby waved at daddy while he mowed (she recently learned that skill)!

When she went down for her afternoon nap, I put on a podcast and got to cleaning the house. I worked until she woke up.

The rest of the day was spent playing and another long stroller walk.

For dinner, we made cornbread and chili! It hit the spot and was so perfect for a cool night.

After dinner, we relaxed and watched TV until bed.

SUNDAY:

The morning was chilly, so I bundled up and had some coffee by the fireplace. When the baby woke up, I fed her and we played until her nap. Once she got up and had some fruit, we headed to “Boo at the Zoo.”

They had different themes around the park and the kids got to trick-or-treat.

We were so glad grandma could come, too!

We had so much fun! The baby loved looking at the displays and other kids. My mom got us a family pass as an early Christmas gift, so we decided that we will come back next weekend to catch the things we missed today.

When we got home, we ate and the baby took a nap. I did a quick grocery run, then took a walk with my mom and little one.

The baby went down early. She was wiped out from such a fun day!

Our Outer Banks, NC Vacation (Baby’s First Time On The Beach)

Hello, all! I’m coming to you from the car on the way home from our wonderful vacation. I have gone to the Outer Banks, NC with my family since I was little. I brought my husband for the first time 5 years ago when we were dating, and this past week, we brought our daughter for her first visit. We had such a wonderful time, and made so many memories.

Here is the highlighted version..

TRAVELLING:

The drive from our house is around 11 hours. We broke it up into two days both ways. The baby did so well overall, but definitely had her moments where she wanted out of the car. We kept her busy with toys, music, and grandma (who sat in the backseat with her).

BABY’S SCHEDULE AND ROUTINE:

I thrive on routine, as does my little one. I never sway on bedtime, and try to keep consistent naps. I made sure to keep this up the whole vacation. Sure, it meant being at the house to have her in bed by 6 each night, but we had a blast going out in the day! It is SO worth it to me. Travel days were rough. She struggled going down, and since we had to share a room with her she wanted to play all hours of the night. She did amazing at the beach house though! I consider that a win.

BEACH FUN:

We had an oceanfront house, and the view was absolutely stunning. We drank coffee while watching the sun rise each morning. We even had a hot tub on the deck. Our weather was absolutely perfect! Sunny and breezy, which made for such pleasant beach days.

We had so much fun showing baby K the ocean! We either held her, or put her in the pack and play with toys while we were outside.

We walked the pier near us many times, visited a lighthouse, and a place called the Whalehead Club.

Kennedy also got to spend quality time with her grandparents. My mom was with us the whole time, and my husband’s parents came for a few days!

FOOD:

We ate so well!! I love love love seafood! Here is just a couple favorite meals from the trip, although we had many more delicious things!

This salad had fresh tuna, and all sorts of other tasty items! This was from a restaurant called Rundown Cafe. It is a staple when we visit!

Yes, another salad lol! This one had a delicious crabcake on it. I devoured the whole thing, along with my margarita!

Crabmeat stuffed mushrooms. These were so good!

FITNESS:

Most days, I did a 3 mile beach run! I love zoning out and taking in the sights and smells of the ocean. It is so peaceful!

Two of the days, I did barre videos and a long walk with my mom and baby K!

As always, the week flew by, and it is back to reality!

Our Weekend Of Food, Fitness, Friends, Family, And Pumpkins

Hello, all!! I planned on writing this last night, but baby K had her first fever, and I practically stared at her monitor all night. We had a long day of adventures yesterday, and she was great, minus a runny nose. When we got home, she was a little fussy and so warm. We fed her, gave her tylenol, then a bath with baby friendly essential oils (found at Buybuy baby). I rocked her to sleep which is my favorite thing ever. My husband took her temp a few hours later and it was back down, so I’m praying it’s still down when she wakes up.

Update: She’s up with no fever! Yay!

Anyway, let’s get to the rest of our lovely weekend, shall we?

FRIDAY NIGHT:

When my husband got home from work, I made a frozen pasta meal. It had garlic chicken and veggies! It was really tasty! We ate and rented the newest X Men.

SATURDAY:

We spent the morning playing with the baby, relaxing, and drinking coffee. Once my sweetie took her nap, I headed to the gym. I did a full body lifting circuit and it felt good. I grabbed a smoothie from the gym cafe before heading home.

Afterwards, we all went to my husband’s shop so he could do an oil change on my car. He is getting it all ready for our upcoming vacation to NC. We leave Friday! I can’t wait to have our little one on the beach for the first time!

When we got home, I put baby down for a nap and snuck off to get a haircut. I am so happy that I have a husband who encourages me to get out and take care of myself.

For dinner that night, we decided to cook a fun meal together. I wanted a savory apple dish because we still have lots of apples from the fruit farm! This had chicken, apples, sweet potatoes, bacon, onion, and brussel sprouts. It was delicious!!

SSUNDAY:

We had a big day planned! We headed to my hometown to my favorite childhood place called Youngs Jersey Dairy. We met up with my best friend and her family, my mom, and my brother and his family. We grabbed lunch, then took a hayride to the pumpkin patch.

We all got ice cream and saw the goats before heading home.

Baby K was exhausted from the big day!

After getting her to sleep, I picked up Jersey Mike’s for dinner. I did some laundry before bed.
