Food, Fitness, And A Family Update

Hello, and happy Friday! I have been beyond sporadic with my posts lately. A lot has been going on, and honestly I am just so tired. Although this morning, the day started out with a Super Coffee, and an avacado banana muffin with almond butter on top. I also got a little more sleep last night! Yay!

BABY/TODDLER UPDATE:

My sweet girl has SO much energy during the days! I think we will be switching to one nap a day soon. We have been enjoying walks, her baby pool, and all of the bubbles! Lol!! She is chatty, silly, and loads of fun! She has started tantruming some, and I am trying to navigate how to handle that. She is so snuggly these days and I LOVE it!

FAMILY UPDATE:

My husband and I might be building a house! Things have happened so quickly, and it has been a whirlwind. We would be moving close to his work, and the community it wonderful!! The schools are nice, there is a pool, and so many awesome walking trails. We are trying to get the process rolling because it takes 6 months once they start!

FITNESS UPDATE:

I am still enjoying my at-home workouts! Some days I miss the gym, but the money I am saving is SO great!!

This week:

*Stoller barre-the extra weight of K in the stroller is awesome.

*1 min Elliptical, 1 min weights for 30 minutes

*YouTube: Spartan 500 from Fitness Blender

*Bands and Kettlebells

FOOD FAVORITES:

Chipotle bowl! I decided to go veggie with sofritas and guacamole on the side. I didn’t eat the sofritas because they tasted odd to me. The meal was delicious though!

I made a pork loin in the crockpot with white sweet potatoes, onions, and carrots. I put the pork on an english muffin with cheese and greek yogurt ranch dressing.

This delicious salad was from a vegan restaurant called Portia’s Cafe. I also had soup and a slice of strawberry cheesecake. Yum!

A sald bowl from Piada! A lot of the toppings were at the bottom. It was so yummy!

Other meals included: chickpea pasta with meat sauce, a frozen pizza, and chicken drumsticks with cauliflower mac and cheese.

Fit Friday-This Week In Food And Fitness

Hello, all! It’s been a sunny Friday here and I’m so ready for a long weekend. My week felt so long and daunting. We are staying in town this weekend and I am looking forward to getting some extra sleep (if my internal clock lets me).

My other weekend plans include: time with friends, grilling, getting a base tan, prepping for teaching next week, and cleaning.

Anyway, this week has been full of good food and fitness. Here’s the recap:

MONDAY:

I woke up early and taught my online classes before work.

After work, I went to my regular Monday night workout class: the C9 Challenge. It is such a good full body workout.

For dinner, we made pizzas and they were so good! I found a whole wheat crust on sale, and used turkey pepperoni, ham, and mushrooms!! Yum!

TUESDAY:

I woke up early yet again to teach! I am loving my side job even though it calls for early hours.

After a long day day at work, I did a hiit style workout on the treadmill.

For dinner, we had a frozen PF Changs meal (beef and broccoli) and put it over rice. I had a salad with mine. It was so tasty!!

WEDNESDAY:

I didn’t teach that morning, so I decided to sleep in a bit. It was so nice!

After work, I did a short lifting session at my gym. It felt good, but I’ve been taking so many classes that I had to get back into the groove of lifting on my own.

Dinner was roast with potatoes and carrots!

THURSDAY:

I started the morning with a spin class! It was a good one!

I have been teaching most mornings, so it was such a treat to workout before work and get Starbucks!

After work, my favorite co-worker/work bestie and I went to Coopershawk winery and drank wine on the patio. It was delicious and much needed after a doozy of a day!

My mom met us there and we all talked for a while.

For dinner, my mom and I got Whole Foods to bring back to my place. I loaded up a salad with so many tasty things, including their delicious tofu.

After dinner, we watched Hollywood Game Night! It is such a fun show.

FRIDAY:

This morning started out with teaching an online class, followed by coffee with my mom before she headed home and I went to work.

We have 3 days left before summer break!!! Ahhh!!!! YAY!

After work, I went to the gym and did the stair climber and treadmill while listening to my current favorite podcast. It is called My Favorite Murder. I love all things crime and this does not disappoint.

Dinner was a veggie burger and sweet potato fries.

Now we are watching basketball (Go Cavs)!! The game will be on late, but I know I will fall asleep on the couch haha!

A Winery Visit, Birthday Celebrations, Food, And Fitness

Hi there, everyone!! How has your weekend been?! Mine has been fun and I’m sad it is coming to an end. I am not sure that I am ready for another week.

Anyway…

Onto my weekend!

FRIDAY NIGHT:

After work, I came home and did a few things around the house before my husband called that he was on his way home. He wanted Chinese for dinner, so he brought me some won-ton soup to go with my dinner. I had an asian salad kit, fried plantain, and chicken!

We watched Justice League and Master Chef Jr. before bed.

SATURDAY:

I woke up super early! I didn’t plan on it, but I struggle sleeping in. I had coffee and did some things on the computer until my husband woke up. Mid-day, I went to the gym for a spin class.

When I got home, I realized I didn’t feel well. I was slightly flu-ish and began having sinus pressure. We had a big evening planned, so I made Theraflu tea and got Afrin, which made me feel SO much better!

We headed to Cincinnati to celebrate me and my uncle’s birthdays at one of our favorite places: Valley Vineyards.

Each couple gets a bottle of wine (or beer), a meat that you get to season and cook yourself on huge outdoor grills, unlimited sides, and pie! It is SUCH a fun experience!

By the time we got home, I started feeling crappy again, but was so glad I felt good throughout the evening.

SUNDAY:

I woke up and went to Starbucks with my mom. We went shopping, while my husband cleaned my car. He’s pretty awesome!

We were supposed to go to my cousin’s daughter’s birthday party, but since I still wasn’t feeling great we went home.

We were super hungry when we got back, so we made some food.

A poppyseed salad topped with leftover chili and a cornbread muffin!

Afterwards, I did some laundry and now we are relaxing until our show comes on.

Weekend Wrap-Up (food, fitness, wine, and relaxing)

Hello, all! The weekend always seems to fly, doesn’t it? We had the whole weekend at home and it was perfect! I wish we had just one more day of it.

FRIDAY:

After work, I went with a couple co-workers to do a wine tasting at Coopershawk winery. It was great to unwind and sample a bunch of tasty wines. 

I was pretty hungry when I got home, so I made chicken with veggies and sweet potato fries for dinner.

My husband and I watched some T.V. before bed. 

SATURDAY:

I enjoyed staying in my PJ’S for a few hours Saturday morning. I made coffee and protein pancakes for breakfast and ate it in front of the t.v. 

Pancakes made with Kodiak Cake pancake mix, chocolate peanut butter protein powder, pecans, and dark chocolate chips. Then I topped them with honey and cinnamon. 

Early afternoon I headed to the gym for a spin class. It was extremely challenging, and I loved it! 

After the gym, I grabbed a smoothie from the cafe, then hit Trader Joe’s to grab lunch. 

Lemon chicken and arugula salad! Yum!! I also had some popped chips with it.

After lunch, my husband and I spent a few hours cleaning and running some errands for house stuff. 

Dinner was a sweet onion chicken burger on a grilled flatout with cheese, guacamole, and a side of sweet potato fries. It was delicious!!

After dinner, I made cookies because I wanted something sweet. 

These were bomb.com for real!! Super tasty and healthy!

The rest of the evening was spent watching football. 

SUNDAY:

My friend picked me up pretty early for church. We stopped at Starbucks on the way of course!

After church, my husband and I had a brunch date at Cracker Barrel. 

Buttermilk oven baked chicken, cheese grits, and broccoli. Amazing!!!! I topped the chicken with sugar free maple syrup. Yum! I ate every bite. 

After brunch, we hit up the outlet mall by us. We ran a few more errands (Lowe’s and the grocery store) before heading home. Dinner was a southwest salad kit topped with coconut oil fried plantain. I made a dressing by mixing OPA ranch and buffalo sauce for a kick. It was so good!

Now it’s time to relax with my husband and kitties!

Weekend Wrap-Up (A Winery Visit, A Date Night, And A Baby Shower)

Hi there, everyone! I hope you all have had a great weekend. Mine has been fun and busy.

FRIDAY:

After work, my friend and I met at a local winery by us called Coopershawk. They have the best wines and delicious food!! We each got a flight of wine and split two meals from the happy hour menu. 

I love sweet wines, so my flight had rhubarb, sweet red, raspberry, and white sangria! YUM!

For dinner, we split chicken pot stickers and ahi tuna tacos. All of the meals come with pretzel bread, which is addicting!

We had a great time talking and winding down from our crazy work week. 

SATURDAY:

I started the morning with a big breakfast, cat cuddles, and coffee, followed by a treadmill hiit workout at the gym!

After that, I went with my husband to pick up my car, which he has been busting his butt to fix! He’s amazing!

We finally were able to have a date night since my car was finished, so we went to the dinner theater for dinner and a movie!

SUNDAY:

I woke up super early to clean and grocery shop since I knew I was going to be gone all day.

I drove about 2 hours to celebrate my sister-in-law and soon to be niece! We had so much fun and she has another shower in two weeks! Yay! 

I can’t wait to meet baby Avery!

I am finally home and my husband and I are going to grill out and relax.
