Let’s Have A Coffee Date Catch-Up (Family, Food, Fitness, And Sickness)

Hello, all! Gosh I feel like I haven’t written in so long. Things have been crazy around here. Typically, I would be working out right now, but I decided to put it off until later so that I could sit in the quiet and sip on a large cup of coffee.

As I drink my Starbucks blend coffee with vanilla soy and you grab whatever you enjoy, I will fill you in on life lately.

FAMILY TIME:

Last weekend we had a lot of time with just our little family, and loved every second of it. The weather was so nice!

We went to the zoo and the baby had a blast pointing to, and reaching for the animals! She especially loved the aquarium!

My husband and I had a great evening that night after the baby went to bed. We made a big meal together, then rented Ford Vs. Ferrari (which was SO good by the way).

This week, before sickness hit our family, baby K and I got to the park. She was laughing so hard on the swings! It was the cutest thing ever. The pure look of joy on her face just melts me.

SICKNESS:

This family has been hit with some nasty colds. The baby got it first, but is finally starting to improve. Now my husband and sister-in-law are sick.

As far as myself, I haven’t gotten it yet, but am cleaning and disinfecting like crazy.

FITNESS:

With the weather getting nicer, we are getting out for walks and runs! It has been wonderful.

I have also been able to get to the gym for some classes including:

*RINGSIDE- a boxing inspired workout with weights. It kicks my behind!!

*Upper Body RX

*Spinning

I also am continuing Barre and the Elliptical at home!

FOOD:

My husband and I made a delicious skillet meal with chicken sausage, mushrooms, onions, sweet potatoes, and lots of seasoning! It was so good!!

Shrimp pasta and vegetables!

We’ve also grilled out some!

OTHER:

I am not sure what the weekend will bring. I am just praying that the sickness leaves this house, and we get some much needed rest!

This post ended up taking me until baby K’s bedtime, so that’s all for this update. I am looking forward to catching up on all of your posts!

All my love,

Carly

Food, Fitness, Motherhood, And An Almost 1 Year Old

Hello, all! Happy Sunday! I just spilled coffee all over myself, so let’s hope that is the only setback today haha.

I haven’t updated in a while because things have been crazy. One week from today baby K will be a year old! She is crawling all over the place, and has SO much energy. She is an absolute blast, but my-oh-my this mamma is tired! She learned the “p” sound, and laughs every time she does it. It is so stinking cute! She still says “dad” and “hey” all the time. She knows to point to our noses when asked where they are. She is so smart!

Her birthday party is in two weeks, and we are doing a “sweet one” theme! I am SO excited! It literally is all things donut. She has a donut outfit, and my husband and I have donut shirts. She will be doing a smash donut that I am making instead of a cake. I decided to make it healthy because I am not ready to give her all that sugar!
FITNESS:

As far as workouts go, I have been trying to switch up my at-home ones. I need variety, and found that I can utilize what I have to do new things. The other day, I did a 30 minute workout where I did one minute hard on the elliptical, and 2 minutes light weighs. I rotated that until my 30 minutes was up. It made it go so fast!!

I also utilize YouTube! My favorite fitness channel is Fintess Blender. I use them for home and gym workouts!

I still LOVE my classes at the gym, and try to go as often as I can.
FOOD:
This week has been some staples, like spaghetti with meat sauce and loaded salads, but also some fun foods…

One night was Bibibop Asian Grill! My best friend had a hair appointment in town and came over, so we had our bowls for dinner and chatted! It was wonderful!
We pulled out the air fryer one night for chicken legs and sweet potatoe fries! Yum!!
Since tonight is the Superbowl, my husband wants a lot of fried food haha. I will have some of that, but not too much or I will be sick.

OTHER:

*My husband and I are finally going out on a date on Valentine’s Day! It has been so long and I can’t wait to have some time just the two of us.

*We keep getting glimpses of warmer weather and I can’t wait to get out of the house more with baby K!!

Okay, all…this post has taken me half the day in true mom fashion. Lol!!
Have a wonderful week ahead!

With love,

Carly

Let’s Have A Christmas Time Coffee Date

Hello, all! It has been a while since I’ve posted, and with the Christmas season upon us, I thought I’d update you over some coffee (or maybe a peppermint mocha)!

CHRISTMAS FUN:

Last weekend was a busy one for us, but so fun! We had family pictures on Saturday, and they turned out so perfect!

On Sunday, we had baby K’s Christmas party at her gym class. She met Santa, and looked absolutely adorable! She did well, and was mostly interested in Mrs. Claus’ glasses.

The next couple of weeks will be full of more holiday festivities!

On Monday, my little lady turned 10 months old. I just can’t believe how much she has grown! She is the absolute sweetest, and I can’t get over how blessed we are.

FITNESS:

I am still managing to sneak off to the gym a few times a week, which is so nice! Some of my favorite classes this past week were gluteus maxout and spinning! The other days, I utilized YouTube, my elliptical, and the hotel gym (we were there for my husband’s work Christmas party).

FOOD:

I’ve been slacking on food pictures, but these are a couple favorites from the week.

Chickpea pasta with meat sauce.

Sweet potatoes, chicken sausage, and french onion soup seasoning with just a little water to make a sauce. It was so tasty!!

OTHER FUN:

I got to see one of my very best friends, and get out of the house for a bit! We did a wine tasting, and had an absolute blast catching up! I miss working with her so much. I get to see her again this upcoming week, which makes my heart so happy!

We went to Kalahari for my husband’s work Christmas party on Thursday. Kalahari is a hotel/resort that has a huge indoor water park, game room, restaurants, etc. It was my first night away from the baby which was hard, but we had a lot of fun! We did all the rides and enjoyed drinks from the hot tub bar. Plus, it wasn’t crowded at all being a week day! We have been on a weekend before and it was packed.

When we got home the next day, the baby was so excited to see us, and gave me the biggest hug and kiss. Talk about melting my heart!! Gosh, I love that kid.

That’s about all for this update. The baby is finally napping, so I am off to clean. I plan on catching up on all of your posts this evening! I can’t wait to see what everyone has been up to!

Have a wonderful weekend, all!

With love,

Carly

A Life Update (Motherhood, Sickness, Teething, Food, And Fitness)

Hello, all! I am currently sitting here watching TV, and beyond ready for my husband to be home. He has been gone all weekend at a wedding, and I’m not expecting him home until around 1am. The baby and I stayed home because it would have been way too much travel for her in just a couple days.

Anyway, when I last wrote, I was getting over a terrible stomach bug. Unfortunately, my husband got it, too. He woke me up super early Tuesday morning saying he was up most of the night feeling queasy. He threw up right after that. I felt so bad because he got it from me. He stayed home from work for two days. I cleaned and disinfected like crazy when he felt better. Luckily, the baby didn’t get it!

The baby and I still had some fun though!

She LOVES gym class!! The Little Gym Of Polaris has been a saving grace for me. Baby K is making friends (so am I), developing new skills, and has so much fun every week.

This sweet kid had her 9 month appointment, and took her shots like a champ! She only screamed for a little bit.

Let’s talk teething…

Ugh, it is awful. She has had a couple nights where she struggled to go down because she was screaming. I have found that teething oil (benzocaine free), tylenol (when necessary), and lots of things to chew on help!

Now, onto food…

I didn’t cook much during the week since my husband was sick and I just threw stuff together for myself. We had pasta on Monday (before he got the bug). Mine had chickpea noodles with a meat sauce.

My mom spent yesterday and a good portion of today with me! It was so nice and extremely helpful!! Love you, mom! We had Jersey Mike’s and rented a movie last night!

After getting the baby down, I made a cauliflower crust pizza and salad for tonight’s dinner! Yum!

Fitness this week:

*Elliptical

*Barre

*Hiit workout video

*Cycle Sculpt class at the gym

*Upper Body Extreme class at the Gym

Well, that’s about all for this update! The rest of my evening will be spent snuggling the cats, watching the baby monitor, enjoying some TV, and waiting on the hubs!

I’m looking forward to catching up on all of your posts during the baby K’s nap tomorrow!

Have a great week ahead, all!

With love,

Carly

Weekend Wrap-Up (Food, Fitness, And Surviving Daylight Savings Time With A Baby)

Hi, all! I hope your weekend has been wonderful. I didn’t get as much cleaning done as I would have liked, but I hope to finish tomorrow.

Anyway, I was semi-dreading daylight savings time. Messing with baby K’s sleep schedule really had me worried, but the method I used worked so well! I started pushing her typical schedule back by 15 minutes a few days ago, then 30 the next day, and so on until today to get her body used to the time change. She literally did perfect today, and her naps and bedtime stayed the same times as they were before the time change. She has an early bedtime, and it seemed strange to put her down when it was so dark out!

She was such a happy baby today!

My schedule-oriented heart is happy now….well, until the holidays.

Now, onto the rest of the weekend…

SATURDAY:

My mother-in-law and sister-in-law had stayed with us Friday night, and they left fairly early for a volleyball tournament near our house. Once they left, I had coffee and hung with the family.

I headed to the gym after getting the baby down for her morning nap. I took an upper body workout class and it was awesome!

Once the baby was up, we all got ready to go watch my sister-in-law play volleyball. She did awesome and was excited we were there.

Her look for the day!

We got the baby down for her afternoon nap when we got home. When she woke up, we headed to my work bestie’s house so that my husband could work on her car. I love seeing her!

We left when the baby got sleepy, and got her home for bed.

For dinner, we had tacos!

We were both pretty beat and went to bed early.

SUNDAY:

This morning started with coffee and family time! We played with the baby until her morning nap. My husband went to finish my work bestie’s car, and we joined after nap time.

I got my grocery shopping done during baby K’s afternoon nap, then played with her until her bath and bedtime.

Hubs and I had chicken and potatoes for dinner, and now we are relaxing. I have a feeling I am going to fall asleep on the couch because I am wiped out.

That’s about all for this recap. Have a wonderful week!

With love,

Carly
