Our Weekend Of Food, Friends, Family, Fitness, And Sickness

Hello and happy Sunday, all! Our weekend started out wonderful, but that changed when our sweet daughter became ill. I will get to that, but let’s recap the good parts first.

FRIDAY NIGHT:

I spent a lot of the day cleaning because my husband and I were having our friends over for dinner.

Once I got the baby down, I put out cheese, crackers, and wine to have when our friends came.

When they got to our house, we chatted while my husband grilled steak and salmon. Our friends brought homemade mac and cheese!

Dinner was absolutely delicious, and we had a great time catching up.

After dinner, we played Cards Against Humanity. It was so fun! Such a nice change of pace from watching movies. We talked and laughed so much. When they left, my husband and I cleaned up and headed to bed.

SATURDAY:

The day started with coffee and hanging with the baby. When she went down for a nap, I went to the gym. I did 30 minutes of a spin class, then a short upper body lifting workout. It felt so good!

When I got home, we got ready, and headed off to a food truck festival downtown. It was such a nice family day!!

These two are my absolute favorites!

We waited in the longest line for a food truck called Cousins Maine Lobster. It was actually on the show Shark Tank! Guys, it was SO worth the wait. I had lobster tacos and my husband had the lobster roll.

We also grabbed a meal from Island Noodles, which was delicious! Noodles, veggies, and terriaki chicken! Yum!!!!

We fed the baby a bottle while we ate.

She was exhausted by this point, so we headed out after eating.

When we got home, we played until it was time to get our sweet girl to bed. She fell asleep and we had some leftovers for dinner. We rented the Avengers, and enjoyed some ice cream that we picked up from Kroger earlier in the day.

About an hour into our movie, I heard the baby somewhat gagging on the monitor. My husband ran into her room (I was right behind him) and rolled her onto her side as she started vomiting. I got her in my arms and the vomiting started again. It happened many times, until everything was out of her and it was just dry heaving. My husband did an excellent job staying calm, but I struggled with that. We talked to my husband’s aunt, who is a nurse, and she gave us advice on what to do.

We had her lay with us for a long time, until we knew the vomiting was done. We kept an eye on her the whole night. She slept well thankfully!

SUNDAY:

Baby girl was so hungry when she got up. She was also super happy!!

She has had a great day so far and seems to be 100 percent herself. My husband woke up not feeling well, and I have a sour stomach. Hopefully we don’t get any worse!

It was so terrible seeing our sweet baby in pain. This was the first time she has been really sick and it broke my heart. I’m so glad it was short lived!!

Well, that’s about a for today! I’m hoping to get my laundry all folded before dinner.

Our Weekend Of Food, Fitness, Family, And Wine

Hello, hello, all! I am currently sitting on our deck with my sweet girl in my lap. We luck out having a huge tree to keep us shaded. Baby K loves looking around and listening to the sounds of nature.

Anyway, this past weekend was so nice, as we got to spend some quality family time together. Here’s the recap:

FRIDAY NIGHT:

After getting the baby down, I put together a quick meal. I stuffed a white sweet potato with chicken, bbq sauce, and cheese. I also had some veggies and ranch. It was easy and tasty!

After dinner, my husband and I rented The Upside. I thought it was such a well done movie!

SATURDAY:

I woke up early and snuck in a 3 mile run outside while the baby and husband were still sleeping.

Afterwards, we got all ready and headed to our favorite winery by my mom’s house. The drive is near 2 hours, but the baby did awesome! We had a lot of family meeting us there for lunch and to meet our sweet girl.

I love seeing these sweet cousins together!

Yum!

We all caught up and hung out for a couple hours and had the best time!

Once all the littles were getting fussy and tired we knew it was time to go.

Once we got home, I fed the baby and played with her until bedtime.

That evening, we just relaxed, as we were tired from our day!

SUNDAY:

My work bestie came over with Starbucks that morning! We caught up while my husband worked on her car.

We ended up heading to my husband’s shop because he needed extra tools. I loved it because it meant more time with my favorite girlfriend!!

When he finished up, we grabbed Jersey Mike’s on the way home for lunch.

I got the baby down for a nap and went grocery shopping.

Once I got home, I played with my girl until she was ready to eat and have a bath.

She made quite the mess with her green beans!

Once we got her down, my husband made salmon in the crockpot. It was delicious!

We watched some tv before heading to bed fairly early.

Self-Care Sunday (A Weekend Of Dates, A Spa Day, A Wedding, Food, And Fitness)

Hello, everyone! Well, the weekend is coming to an end, and I hope you all had a great one. I have had a lovely weekend, and spent some time to myself, time with my husband, friends, and sweet baby. As a mom, I tend to spend all day focusing on my family and forget to relax and take care of myself. I am so glad I was able to center myself a bit.

Let’s recap, shall we??

FRIDAY NIGHT:

After I got the baby down and ate a quick bite to eat, my husband and I were able to have a date night to the movies! My mother-in-law and I had plans the next day, so she stayed at our house and kept an eye on the monitor.

It was fun to get pop and popcorn while sitting in reclining chairs, and just relax together. It has been so long and we had so much fun! We saw Toy Story 4 because I just adore those movies, and it did not disappoint.

SATURDAY:

I finally got to cash in my Mother’s Day present from my husband. My mother-in-law, sister-in-law, and I all went to Woodhouse Day Spa for a spa day. My mom was supposed to come, but unfortunately had to go to a funeral. I missed her!

I picked up Starbucks and brought it to the spa! They put us in the “quiet room” after getting our robes on. It had drinks and snacks!

We chatted while we waited for our services to start. I started with a swedish massage and it was so relaxing.

Afterwards, we met back in the room before our next service. I was called for my facial and it was so amazing! I had never had one, but oh my gosh it felt so good. They even massaged my neck, shoulders, arms and hands. My face felt so fresh afterwards.

Next up, we got our pedicures. I chose a pink since it is summer. We got a warm neck wrap and sat in massage chairs. It was perfect.

We ended our spa day back in the quiet room.

We left feeling amazing!

When I got home, I scooped my sweet baby up because I miss her every time I’m not home haha.

My husband and I had lunch, then fed and bathed the baby. She is splashing and playing so much in the tub now. It is hilarious and precious!

Once we got her down for a nap, I started getting ready because we had a wedding that evening.

My mom came to babysit, and we left around 4:30. It was a gorgeous day for a wedding!!

The ceremony was beautiful and they wrote their own vows. So sweet!!

After the ceremony, we had drinks and appetizers. They were super tasty!

Dinner was family style and it all was great! They had short ribs, chicken, vegetables, potatoes and salad!

We danced (especially my work bestie and I), drank, and just had fun being out for the night.

We got home around 10:45 and went to bed. Well, I layed in bed, but was up half the night because I had pop with caffeine at the wedding. Ughhh! It was so annoying!!

SUNDAY:

My mom got us Starbucks in the morning while I pumped.

We relaxed a bit, then went to the grocery store.

My mom left after shopping, and I went out for a 3 mile run. I was tired and it was hot, but I’m glad I did it!

The rest of the day was spent playing with my girl until she went down for bed.

We are now catching up on Masterchef and hopefully getting a good night of sleep!

Food, Fitness, And Fro-yo

Hi, all!! I am just now getting around to posting a little weekend wrap-up. Baby certainly keeps me busy, and most days get away from me.

Anyway, we had such a nice weekend! Here’s the recap…

SATURDAY:

The day started with coffee and family time. I love mornings where we can just relax and be together.

A little later, I went to the gym for an upper body workout class and it felt so good.

After my workout, I came home and got the baby down for a nap. I utilized that time to clean, and my husband worked outside.

When baby woke up, I went shopping with her. She loves looking all around different stores and is just so stinking cute.

Later, we all went to Orange Leaf Frozen Yogurt and it was so tasty!!

By the time we got home, it was just about bedtime for baby K. We gave her a bath, read her some books, fed her, then put her down.

Dinner was absolutely delicious! We had salmon, rice, veggies, and salad.

After dinner, we finished the current season of Stranger Things. Guys, this season was amazing! Does anyone else love that show!?

We crashed hard that night.

SUNDAY:

We woke up, had coffee, then got straight to cleaning our living room. Our cats shed a lot, and we were ready to deep clean. It felt so good getting it done.

After cleaning, I got my hair cut. It was nice to get out. Plus, I had a giftcard!

When I got home, we played with the baby. She just found her feet and always plays with them now. It is too stinking cute!

Once I got her down for a nap, I went for a 3 mile run in the 90 degree heat. Yikes! Talk about sweaty!!

I took a shower, got baby up, and took her to the grocery with me.

When we got home, we sat outside until it rained. Baby had sweet potatoes and a bottle before going down for bed.

We ordered Chinese for dinner because we didn’t feel like cooking.

We watched some TV before bed.

Weekend Wrap-Up (Food, Fitness, And Father’s Day)

Hello and happy Monday, all! How was your weekend? Ours was nice, as we had some family time, and spoiled my husband for Father’s Day.

Let’s recap…

SATURDAY:

My mom stayed Friday night, so in the morning we had coffee, played with the baby, then went to the gym before doing some shopping.

At the gym, I took an upper body workout class.

We picked up salad bowls from Piada for lunch. Talk about tasty!!

After lunch, my mom headed home, and my husband and I played with the little one.

I cleaned a bit, then we hung around the house. The baby had a bath and an early bedtime, so my husband and I got Chinese and rented a movie.

It was a lovely evening!

SUNDAY-FATHER’S DAY:

I woke up early and picked up donuts and coffee while my husband and baby were still sleeping.

When my husband and little one woke up, we had some family time. My husband enjoyed his breakfast and opened his gift card (for a deep tissue massage).

When the baby took a nap, I cleaned and had lunch, while my husband played some video games.

My husband took off for his massage, so the baby and I played until he got home.

We all went to Kroger for groceries and picked up food to grill for dinner. After putting the baby to bed, we grilled out steaks and turkey burgers. We also had corn and potatoes!

After dinner, we rented a movie before heading to bed.

We had a great weekend!

Now, I will leave you with some of my favorite pictures to honor my husband, my dad (who passed away in 2012), and my father-in-law.

My husband is the best daddy to our little girl. He adores her, and she adores him. I’m so in love with these two!

My dad was so amazing. I miss him every single day. I find that I am so much like him, and I couldn’t be more thankful for that.

My father-in-law has loved and accepted me from day 1. He constantly tells me that I am a good mom and it means so much to me.

I am so blessed!
