Our Family And Food-Filled Memorial Day Weekend

Hello, all! I hope you are well, and had a nice (long) weekend. K has been walking all over, and rarely sits still! She will get into anything that she has access to, and keeps us on our toes! She has a big, wonderful personality, and I am soaking up her being little.

This past weekend was so nice, as we enjoyed awesome weather, and lots of family time.

FRIDAY:

My mom came over for the day, which was so nice! We got lunch at a delicious vegan restaurant called Portia’s Cafe. Everything was so fresh and tasty. I had a wrap with tons of veggies and hummus, and the most delicious, healthy, strawberry cheesecake I have ever had!!

A little later in the day, I had a delivery come to the door. The cutest edible arrangement! Such a fun surprise! The fruit was so fresh and yummy. K and I ate it up quickly!

That evening, my husband and I started watching the show Locke and Key. It is SO good and we have watched a lot over the weekend evenings!!

SATURDAY:

My husband ordered my absolute favorite coffee from the cutest bookstore in North Carolina. I started the day with a cup in my bookstore mug. The smell took me to the beach, and I cannot wait to be there again in October!

After coffee and breakfast, we packed up and headed to the campground that my husband’s family was at.

K enjoyed seeing everyone for the day, and we left at her naptime.

We took a long way home, and stopped to look at some houses while K slept.

We watched more Locke and Key, and ate brats for dinner once K went to bed.

SUNDAY:

The morning was beautiful outside, so we started the day with a long family walk. Spending time with my husband and little girl is the best!!

That afternoon, we got K’s baby pool out and let her play a lot. She had SO much fun, and slept like a champ that night. She had to try a couple different suits on haha.

MONDAY-MEMORIAL DAY:

We took another family walk and it was perfect!!

I went for a jog when K napped, and it started getting SO hot. We hit almost 90 degrees. My mom came for the day, and we took walks, had lunch, and K played in her pool. It was a great day!

Dinner was grilled salmon, veggies, and a salad!

We ended the night with more Locke and Key! We have two episodes left.

That’s all for this update.

Have a wonderful week!

With love,

Carly

Sunny Day Workouts And A Weekend Update

Hello, all! I am in a swimsuit for the first time this year, enjoying a beautiful, sunny day! I got a high wasted suit last year from Amazon and love it. The rest of the week is supposed to be rainy, so I am enjoying being outside as much as possible.

SATURDAY was sunny and beautiful, too. We spent the day outside watering flowers, taking walks, working out, and waving to neighbors.

My husband did yard work the whole day. He is the best!

Baby K using her watering can and helping mommy.

The day ended with City BBQ and finshing Outer Banks on Netflix!

SUNDAY was chilly and rainy, so we played inside, and I deep cleaned the house during K’s naps. Dinner was chickpea pasta with meat sauce. After dinner, we watched 17 Again. That is such a cute movie!

As far as WORKOUTS go, I did mine outdoors Saturday and today, while resting on Sunday.

On Saturday, I used bands, kettlebells, and stairs to do a circuit workout. It was fun, and being outside is so motivating!

Today, I did a few full body excercises with the bands, then K and I headed outside for a stroller hill and barre workout. It felt amazing, and the weather was PERFECT!

These nice days are making me so happy, and I am looking forward to steady warm weather.

That’s all for today! I hope you have a great week ahead.

With love,

Carly

Our Easter Weekend

Hello, all! I meant to get this up Monday, but deep cleaning my house and finishing my Shutterfly books have taken over during baby’s nap time.

Easter sure looked different this year, but we managed to make it special and fun.

SATURDAY:

My in-laws dropped off some things (staying 6 ft apart), including our favorite chocolates in the world. Our friends in Michigan own a candy store called Fabiano’s. I love supporting local, and literally everything is delightful!

That evening, we had a fire in the firepit. My sister-in-law/roommate and I played Friends Trivia while on Facetime with my other SIL. It was a lot of fun.

We came in around 9, showered, and my husband and I caught up on Survivor in bed.

EASTER SUNDAY:

We were able to live stream our church from home. The service was awesome, and although I miss being there physically, I am so thankful to still be able to watch from home.

After church, Kennedy colored a picture of a bunny for the fridge.

She decided against a morning nap, and fell asleep on dad in the afternoon. She only napped about half an hour in her crib that day.

The weather ended up being nice, so we took her out in her truck for a walk. She loved it!

We also did an outside Easter egg hunt for K. It was so much fun!

We made dinner and relaxed that evening.

I hope you all are staying safe and healthy!

With love,

Carly

Warm Weather, Family Time, Food, Fitness, And Finding Happiness

Hello, all!! We had such a wonderful weekend. Between beautiful weather, family time, and spring cleaning, I really couldn’t have asked for more.

Even though things are crazy right now, I have found that my family brings me so much happiness, and time spent with them takes my anxiety away. Despite my husband and sister-in-law still working, we are taking every precaution necessary, and I know this won’t last forever. Until then, I will enjoy every moment together, and soak in sweet baby cuddles as much as I can.

Let’s take a look at our wonderful weekend…

SATURDAY:

The weather was STUNNING and we spent most of the day outside. During baby K’s first nap, I got in a loop band workout with a short jog outside. When she got up, my husband brought her out to finish my workout with me (aka squats with her on my shoulders).

Next up, we took a long family walk and the baby loved taking in her surroundings. She waved to the water when my husband showed it to her.

After lunch and baby’s second nap, I put her in a swimsuit and sunscreen so that she could play in her baby pool. She had fun splashing around. She enjoyed another walk, and watching daddy play with his remote control car haha.

Later, after she had dinner, my husband made a fire in the fire pit and baby got to enjoy it before a bath and bed. She is so adorable, I can’t handle it sometimes.

My husband made us a delicious dinner!!

After dinner, we made banana boats and s’mores by the fire. Oh my gosh, the banana boats were amazing!! I stuffed mine with almond butter, chocolate chips, marshmallows, and coconut. I put it over the fire until it melted then scooped it onto graham crackers.

We sat by the fire for hours just talking and enjoying each other’s company. A lot of people were having fires in their backyards, and it felt like life was normal for a little while.

We crashed hard that night!

SUNDAY:

I made baby K healthy pancakes and fruit. She devoured it!

We spent all of her nap times organizing and spring cleaning. It felt SO good!

That is about all for today, friends! Stay safe and healthy.

Carly

Weekend Wrap-Up And A One Year Old

Hi all! Well, my baby turned one yesterday! This past year has been nothing short of amazing, and I adore this sweet girl more than anything in the world. She has the best personality, and is simply a blast. Days were hard when I first started this motherhood journey, but I figured it all out, and LOVE hanging with this cutie every day! She is absolutely everywhere and gets into everything, so it is never a dull moment haha!

How cute is she with her healthy smash donut??

Even though I could gush on her all day I will move on lol!

FRIDAY NIGHT:

The hubs and I were sent deep dish pizzas, so we made those for dinner. We made a supreme and a cheese. Both were delicious! The sauce went on top!

SATURDAY:

Hubs let me sneak out to the gym for an Upper RX class. It felt so good!

That afternoon, baby K had her Valentine’s pictures and she was absolutely adorable!

After we put her down for bed, I had a quick dinner because my husband already ate. We rented a movie called Fighting With My Family and it was really good! I stayed awake the whole time…yay! Haha.

SUNDAY:

Baby decided that she didn’t want to nap all day which is so unlike her! We had a busy day, full of two birthday parties.

Party 1: her little friend from gym class. They are only two days apart in age! This picture melts me!

Party 2: My husband’s co-worker’s little girl turned two! Her party was at a play place and it was so fun for the littles. We enjoyed catching up with friends, too!

Baby slept SO well last night!

This week, I will be doing the last minute things for Baby K’s “Sweet One” birthday party on Saturday! I am so excited!!

That’s all for this update!

Have a great week!

With love,

Carly
