Self-Care Sunday (A Weekend Of Dates, A Spa Day, A Wedding, Food, And Fitness)

Hello, everyone! Well, the weekend is coming to an end, and I hope you all had a great one. I have had a lovely weekend, and spent some time to myself, time with my husband, friends, and sweet baby. As a mom, I tend to spend all day focusing on my family and forget to relax and take care of myself. I am so glad I was able to center myself a bit.

Let’s recap, shall we??

FRIDAY NIGHT:

After I got the baby down and ate a quick bite to eat, my husband and I were able to have a date night to the movies! My mother-in-law and I had plans the next day, so she stayed at our house and kept an eye on the monitor.

It was fun to get pop and popcorn while sitting in reclining chairs, and just relax together. It has been so long and we had so much fun! We saw Toy Story 4 because I just adore those movies, and it did not disappoint.

SATURDAY:

I finally got to cash in my Mother’s Day present from my husband. My mother-in-law, sister-in-law, and I all went to Woodhouse Day Spa for a spa day. My mom was supposed to come, but unfortunately had to go to a funeral. I missed her!

I picked up Starbucks and brought it to the spa! They put us in the “quiet room” after getting our robes on. It had drinks and snacks!

We chatted while we waited for our services to start. I started with a swedish massage and it was so relaxing.

Afterwards, we met back in the room before our next service. I was called for my facial and it was so amazing! I had never had one, but oh my gosh it felt so good. They even massaged my neck, shoulders, arms and hands. My face felt so fresh afterwards.

Next up, we got our pedicures. I chose a pink since it is summer. We got a warm neck wrap and sat in massage chairs. It was perfect.

We ended our spa day back in the quiet room.

We left feeling amazing!

When I got home, I scooped my sweet baby up because I miss her every time I’m not home haha.

My husband and I had lunch, then fed and bathed the baby. She is splashing and playing so much in the tub now. It is hilarious and precious!

Once we got her down for a nap, I started getting ready because we had a wedding that evening.

My mom came to babysit, and we left around 4:30. It was a gorgeous day for a wedding!!

The ceremony was beautiful and they wrote their own vows. So sweet!!

After the ceremony, we had drinks and appetizers. They were super tasty!

Dinner was family style and it all was great! They had short ribs, chicken, vegetables, potatoes and salad!

We danced (especially my work bestie and I), drank, and just had fun being out for the night.

We got home around 10:45 and went to bed. Well, I layed in bed, but was up half the night because I had pop with caffeine at the wedding. Ughhh! It was so annoying!!

SUNDAY:

My mom got us Starbucks in the morning while I pumped.

We relaxed a bit, then went to the grocery store.

My mom left after shopping, and I went out for a 3 mile run. I was tired and it was hot, but I’m glad I did it!

The rest of the day was spent playing with my girl until she went down for bed.

We are now catching up on Masterchef and hopefully getting a good night of sleep!

That’s all for this recap. Have a great week, everyone!

With love,

Carly

Weekend Wrap-Up (Food, Fitness, Family, And A Wedding)

Hello, all! We just got back from a wedding in Michigan and it is good to be home. It was a lot of fun, but boy am I tired! Bed time will come early tonight haha.

Anyway…let’s recap:

FRIDAY NIGHT:

Dinner was a turkey meatball sub and a salad kit. Yum!

We went to bed early because we had a big day ahead!

SATURDAY:

I woke up at 6 to do my hair, have some coffee, clean up, and get ready. We left our house at 8 for Michigan to celebrate our friend’s wedding!

We grabbed Starbucks for breakfast and ate on the road.

We grabbed a quick lunch when we got close to our hotel, checked in, ate super fast, changed, and made it to the church in time for the ceremony. The ceremony was quick, but lovely!

Family photo attempts haha..

Dear friends and family together again!

The reception took place at our hotel, which was so convenient! We headed to cocktail hour at 5 and enjoyed snacks until the reception began.

Once we were seated, the wedding party arrived and did speeches before dinner. I had the vegetarian option of cheese ravioli.

After dinner, I had banana bread with a decaf coffee. Soooo good.

Dancing seemed to start late, so we all hung out and talked until it did.

Me and the hubs!

They also had a photo booth which was super fun.

Later in the evening, they brought out late night food and snacks consisting of loaded fries, mini chili dogs, and donut holes with cider. Such a great idea!

The reception went until midnight and we chatted until close to 1 before heading to our room. We shared a room with Brad’s cousin and her two little girls (who decided not to sleep). Lots of crying = barely any sleep for us. Guess we have to get used to it! LOL!

SUNDAY:

I woke up pretty early, despite lack of sleep, and I was still exhausted. I had a coffee, then went into the workout room for a cardio session while everyone else was still sleeping.

Baby busting out….

After my workout and a shower, we had a huge breakfast put on by the bride and groom. It was delicious and I was so hungry!

Our friends own a local candy shop in town, so after breakfast we visited and gathered tons of goodies to bring home. Carmel apples, and tons of different chocolate items! We stocked up.

We headed home afterwards and I slept in the car most of the way. Oops! So much for offering to drive half of it haha!

I ran to Kroger and grabbed food for dinner. My husband cooked and it was delicious!

Steak, asparagus, mushrooms, onions, green beans, and a salad kit.

Now I am relaxing until bed!

I hope you all had a great weekend and have a wonderful upcoming week!

With love,

Carly

Our Long Weekend (Food, Fitness, Dates, And A Photo Shoot)

Hey there, everyone! How was your weekend?! I enjoyed the extra day off, but we definitely kept busy!

Let’s catch up, shall we?

FRIDAY NIGHT:

I went to the gym for a quick workout after work, then stopped at Whole Foods to pick up food for dinner.

We had salmon cooked in the cast iron skillet, asparagus, and a salad! It was delicious!!

SATURDAY:

I woke up, and taught my online classes before a cardio session at the gym.

We spent the cleaning and relaxing a bit! We had bad storms that evening and my cats were cuddling! It was so adorable.

My husband and I ate an early dinner, played Clue, and watched Deadpool 2 before bed.

SUNDAY:

Sunday was a big day! We got to do wedding pictures (3 years later) to promote a new venue! Our wedding photographer contacted us and asked if we wanted to do a shoot and it was SO much fun! I had my hair and makeup done in the morning.

That afternoon, we had a brunch/lunch date at Northstar cafe!

We met at the venue around 6:30 and did sunset pictures, then night pictures. It was so much fun and gorgeous outside!

We got home late, ate leftovers, and watched Game of Thrones.

MONDAY:

I slept in, made a pot of coffee, made pancakes, and watched more Game of Thrones.

I went to the gym and did the arc trainer, but took it easy.

My mom met me mid day for maternity clothes shopping. We had lunch at Whole Foods, while working on my baby shower list.

We shopped all day! I got a ton of great stuff (thanks, mom) and got my groceries as well.

My husband worked on the house all day! He was super productive.

Dinner was Jersey Mike’s subs.

We watched Bachelor in Paradise before bed.

It was a great weekend!

Have a wonderful week!

A Winter Wedding

Happy Sunday, all! Have you had a good weekend? Mine was wonderful, as I celebrated a dear friend’s wedding. 10 years of friendship, 3 years of being roommates, and countless memories make this even more special. Everything was perfect!

FRIDAY:

I woke up, went to the gym for a run, then got ready for the day!

I headed to the nail salon to meet the bride and bridesmaids to get our nails done.

We had snacks and mimosas while we waited.

Early evening we had rehearsal, then headed to Brio for dinner. I had chicken marsala and it was delicious!

It was SO much food! I definitely didn’t finish it all.

After dinner, we went home and crashed, knowing that Saturday was going to be busy!

SATURDAY:

I woke up at 6 and did a stair climber workout at my gym before a busy day with the girls!

It was weird being at the gym so early on the weekend.

I went home and had a quick shower. My husband dropped me off at the hair salon (after grabbing Starbucks) and I had my hair and makeup done.

After the salon, all of us headed to the venue, had lunch, then changed into our dresses. We took pictures outside and they were beautiful, but we sure were cold!

All done up!

After pictures came the ceremony and it was perfect! They wrote their own vows and had us all in tears.

The reception was a blast! We had a buffet dinner and danced the night away.

Me and the hubs!

What a beautiful night it was!

SUNDAY:

Today will be full of cleaning, grocery shopping, and wrapping presents!

Have an awesome rest of your day!

With love,

Carly
