Christmas Celebrations And A Life Catch Up

Hello, all! If you celebrated, I hope you had a wonderful Christmas! We sure did. I haven’t updated since last week, so it’s time for a little life catch-up from the past weekend through Christmas day.

After work, my husband and I headed to his work Christmas party. We went bowling and they catered in City Bbq for dinner! We had a lot of fun hanging out with everyone!

We got home late and crashed.

I taught online before we spent the day cleaning. We decided to grab Chipotle for dinner and ate while we watched the movie Peppermint. It was awesome by the way!

Just a random Saturday photo of us haha!

I went to the gym for a quick cardio workout before my mom and brother came over. My mom and I grabbed lunch and did some shopping!

I love Whole Foods!

After they left, we finished Christmas shopping (last minute, I know)!

We cuddled with the cats and relaxed when we got home.

We woke up, had some coffee, then opened our stockings to each other!

I was so surprised by the prenatal massage gift certificate! Plus, my FAVORITE almond butter! My husband did great.

I did a barre workout before getting ready to head to my in-laws!

When we got to my husband’s hometown, we ate dinner, went to church, then came back to his parents. Once we were there, the siblings exchanged our secret Santa gifts (my brother in law got me an Alexa)!

After presents, we got in pjs and watched a movie!

We woke up, had coffee, ate, then started on presents. My in-laws go ALL OUT and it takes us almost 3 hours to open because we go one at a time.

I got tons of fun things for me and baby! We were spoiled!!! My husband got me an elliptical/bike for when baby comes and I don’t want to leave the house.

We relaxed the rest of the day before having dinner at my husband’s aunt and uncle’s house.

We got home late, unloaded the car, then went straight to bed.

I am officially on break from work, so the next week and a half will be spent preparing for baby, teaching online, and catching up on sleep!

Hope you enjoyed the update!

Food, Fitness, And A 23 Week Bumpdate

Hello, and happy happy Friday, all! I am SO ready for the weekend. Yesterday, I hit the 23rd week of my pregnancy and boy am I feeling it.

I’m getting more uncomfortable by the day, but it is so worth it. I can’t wait way to snuggle this sweet baby!!

*It is getting harder to move around (especially in bed)

*Acne-it has settled all over my chin and doesn’t seem like it’s going away any time soon

*Dry/itchy skin- although I did find an amazing lotion that is helping

*Bladder pressure

*Pretty much none of my clothes fit anymore- time to do a full maternity shopping trip!

*Cheese and comfort foods

-No aversions right now-

*I am feeling her move so much and it is amazing

*Extra bonding with my husband

*Getting the nursery ready

*Getting pumped for my baby shower in a few weeks

This week has been more home workouts than anything.

MONDAY: I overslept and needed it because my cold was bothering me so bad. I did a short barre workout after work to get my body moving and it helped.

TUESDAY: I didn’t have time to do much so I just stretched out a bit in the morning.

WEDNESDAY: I made it to the gym for 30 minutes of cardio.

THURSDAY: A 50 minute bump at the barre workout in my basement. It felt so good!

FRIDAY: 30 minutes of cardio (10 on the arc trainer, 10 on the stair climber, and 10 on the treadmill)

MONDAY: Salmon, plantain, veggies, and a salad. SO delicious!

TUESDAY: My girlfriends came over and we made ruebens. They were a hit! We also had pita chips and spinach dip.

WEDNESDAY: Chicken terriaki stir fry over brown rice.

THURSDAY: Subs from Jersey Mike’s because we didn’t want to cook haha.

I am not sure what to have tonight, but I plan on hitting up Whole Foods after work!

Also, here are some adorable pictures of my cats from the week just because!

Hope you enjoyed the update! Have a wonderful weekend!

Fit Friday And A Halfway Pregnancy Update

Oh, ohhhh, we’re halfway there….

Guys. Yesterday marked 20 weeks of my pregnancy, and halfway to meeting our baby girl. The excitement I feel is unbelievable.

Here’s how things are going:

Week 4 to last weekend…

The belly is popping more each week! I’ve gained 11ish-12 pounds and can feel my belly and abs stretching. What a cool, weird experience!

These have hit me hard this week. My back is tighter (thank goodness for wonderful insurance that covers chiropractic care). I have been getting cramps in my calves and legs like crazy.

1) Sleeping! I am beginning to get uncomfortable, so I toss and turn for a while.

2) The need to pee ALL. THE. TIME.

3) Anxiety. I keep thinking of all that we need to do before she gets here and it is making me stress too much.

Peanut butter cups. Or any chocolate with peanut butter for that matter! Haha.

1) I am starting to feel her move more and it is amazing.

2) The love I feel for my husband when he talks about her or talks to my belly. How lucky am I?

3) My cats snuggling on my belly. It is too sweet!

4) Just getting closer to meeting our sweet pea!

Now….let’s move on to some food and fitness this week….

The day started with an upper body workout class at the gym. It feels great to start the week off right!

For dinner we made pizza and had salad kit with it!

I went for a jog after work. The weather was awesome, but the pressure on my bladder was annoying!

Dinner was taco salad with fried plantains!

I made a healthier apple cake for dessert. It was gone in a day and a half haha!

I did a short barre workout, followed by a yoga video at home before heading to work.

After work, I had dinner with my mom and close friend at Chuys. My food was much unhealthier than usual and left me feeling a little crappy. It sure tasted good though!

A fried avacado stuffed with chicken and cheese, beans, and rice.

After work, I went to the gym for a cardio workout. I did a 15 minute jog/walk and 15 minutes on the arc trainer.

Dinner was a sweet potato, salad, and an almond butter granola cup! A much needed healthy meal after the night before.

The morning started with an upper body workout video, plus a little cardio.

Tonight, we plan on making dinner and renting a movie! My family is coming into town tomorrow.

I hope you all have a wonderful weekend!

With love,
