A Fit Mamma Update

Hello and happy weekend, friends! I hope the week treated you well. I actually did my hair and makeup yesterday for the first time in a long time. I went to a friend’s bridal shower, and even though it took forever to get ready (because I have a very clingy child), it was fun to look decent and get out for a bit.

I may or may not have talked about my baby 90 percent of the time haha.

Anyway….let’s talk this week in food and fitness.

We continue to eat well, as my husband, sister-in-law, and I try to meal plan to make everything easier. Here are some dinners we had…

MONDAY:

Salmon, veggies, and salad.

TUESDAY:

Whole wheat pasta with veggie meatballs!

WEDNESDAY:

Grilled chicken, plantains, rice, and salad.

THURSDAY:

Stuffed peppers and a salad kit.

FRIDAY:

Whole Foods salad bar. Yum!

I definitely enjoyed my meals this week!!

As far as FITNESS goes, I worked out at home all week. This included:

*Pure barre

*Hiit workouts

*Elliptical

*Yoga

I get a lot of my workouts from YouTube or other fitness bloggers. Who says you can’t get fit at home??

I am looking forward to going to the gym today though!!

That’s all for this update.

Have a great weekend!

With love,

Carly

A Low Key, Family-Filled Weekend

Hi, all! I am writing this in the bath, trying to get rid of whatever stomach issues I am having. I went to bed feeling okay, but when baby woke up to eat I had a bad sour stomach and it hasn’t gone away. Thankfully, my husband is being super dad and watching the little one! He has also been cleaning all day.

Anyway….our weekend has been great (minus me feeling bad).

Let’s recap:

FRIDAY NIGHT:

My girlfriend came over and we grabbed Whole Foods for dinner and ate at my house.

They have the yummiest salad bar!

We chatted a while, and hung out until my little one got so fussy that I put her down for bed.

SATURDAY:

The day started slow, with coffee and family time. Me and baby K’s swim suits came in, as well as her adorable new sleeper. I played dress up with her, that’s for sure!

Frappuccino sleeper and her adorable flamingo suit. Ahhh…that sweet, chubby baby is the best!

Later in the day, I went to the gym for a lifting class! It felt great.

Afterwards, I picked up Whole Foods for lunch, as well as getting us stuff for dinner.

When I got home, we took a family walk because the weather was so beautiful! It was wonderful spending time with just my husband and baby.

When we got back, we relaxed a bit before giving the baby a bath. She was absolutely exhausted, so bed time came early for her! Once I got her down, I took a shower and my husband cooked us dinner.

It was delicious!

We also rented the movie Bumblebee (I only slept through a little of it…haha).

SUNDAY:

The baby didn’t sleep as well as I would have hoped, plus my stomach has been a mess. Today, I planned on cleaning and grocery shopping, but all I’ve done is picked up the kitchen, snuggled my baby, and taken a bath. Hopefully I will get a second wind so I can feel accomplished before Game Of Thrones tonight!!

That’s about all for this recap. Have a great week!

With love,

Carly

Fit Friday-Mom Edition #3

Hello and happy Friday, friends!! I am enjoying my Starbucks this morning and waiting for the stormy weather to hit. My sweet baby is napping (but probably not for long).

The days have been crazy busy since baby K takes fewer and shorter naps, but oh she sleeps like a champ at night! Yay!!

We have had a great week, minus her 2 month shots. Guys….my heart shattered during those. Her face was pure shock, followed by both of us crying. I was so thankful my husband was there to calm her down. Ugh.

Anyway….lets start with some food this week….

Salmon, potatoes and peppers, and Hawaiian rolls

Grilled chicken, cauliflower mac cheese (YUM), and a salad.

Whole Foods salad bar.

My husband has pretty much taken over the main cooking duties because baby is demanding in the evenings.

WORKOUTS:

*outside runs (we have had some nice weather)

*elliptical

*pure barre videos

*walks with baby

*a barbell strength class (thanks to my mom for babysitting)

I also consider carrying around my 11 pound baby all day a workout haha!

OTHER:

We visited dad at work this week and had lunch. It was so fun!

Baby also got to see all of her grandparents and her uncles! What a great week.

This weekend we are hoping to purge some things from the house.

Have a great one, all!

With love,

Carly

Wedding Pictures

Hello, everyone! Happy Valentine’s Day to all of you love birds. I know this holiday can be a little cliche, but I don’t care because I love opportunities to make my husband feel extra special.

In honor of love, I thought I’d share some of our wedding pictures since I didn’t have a blog at that time.

OCTOBER 31, 2015

My husband helping our nephew (ring bearer) with his boutineer. Heart-melting.

Before the ceremony we exchanged letters, but didn’t see each other.

The whole wedding party! I love this one.

This was during his brother’s best man speech. It was hilarious!

Later into the reception we brought out props and they were a big hit!

I love reminiscing on this day! I love this guy with all of my heart!!

I hope you all have a wonderful rest of your day!

With love,

Carly

Breakfast Banana Split, A Sushi Night, And Fall Decorations

Good morning and happy Thursday, everyone! I hope the week is treating you well so far. I’m excited for the weekend. I took  tomorrow off work and my best friend is coming to visit! I’m also running a 5k this weekend. I love fun, busy weekends! Here’s an update of my week up until now.

TUESDAY:

My mom and I went shopping for all of the fall things! Decorating in our first home has been so much fun!!

Fake flowers and a door wreath.

Decorative pumpkins!

After shopping, we met one of my friends for sushi!

Edamame and won ton soup.

My mom and I split the sushi sampler! SO GOOD!!

WEDNESDAY:

Pretty uneventful. I went to work and the chiropractor. Dinner was a healthier walking taco which was awesome  (recipe later)! After dinner, we watched the Master Chef finale!

THURSDAY:

This morning I decided to make a fun breakfast. I love bananas so I decided to make a Breakfast Banana Split!

This can be made so many ways, but here is my version.

INGREDIENTS:

  • One banana
  • 1 TBSP of almond butter
  • Vanilla greek yogurt
  • Trail mix (mine had granola, nuts, cranberries, chocolate chips, and seeds)

DIRECTIONS:

  • Slice banana down the middle and spread almond butter inside
  • Microwave banana and almond butter for about 30 seconds
  • Top with trail mix and greek yogurt as desired
  • Enjoy!!

YUM!!!!

I enjoyed breakfast with a Starbucks coffee!!

Now it is time for work! Have a wonderful rest of your day!

With love,

Carly
