Fit Friday-30 Minute Treadmill Workout

Hello and happy Friday! We made it!! My weekend is busy. My husband’s cousin is in a band, so we are going to their concert tonight. Tomorrow will be filled with cleaning, house work, and hopefully some fun. On Sunday, my mom and I are throwing a duck themed baby shower for my sister in law.

Yesterday after work I was SO tired. I forced myself to go to the gym, but my motivation was lacking. I got on the treadmill and came up with a new workout on the spot. It was kind of tough to get through, but it felt great once I finished. Here is is:

30 Minute Treadmill Workout

*Start with a warmup (5 to 10 minutes). I included this in my workout by starting with a jog and working up to my run

  1. Do 1 mile as a build (I increased my pace every minute)
  2. Do 2 minutes at a steady pace, 1 minute walk, 1 minute sprint, 1 minute walk
  3. Repeat step 2 for a total of 4 times  (that will be 20 minutes)

Warm down.

This workout took me right around 30 minutes and I did about 3 miles.

My stats.

*Please note that I am not a personal trainer and only post workouts that work for me and my body. What works for me might not work for you!

After my workout, I stopped by Trader Joe’s to pick up something easy for dinner.

A pre made salad (which I added peas to), toast, and butternut squash. Sooooo good!!

I hope you guys enjoy the workout and have a wonderful weekend!

Incline/Decline Treadmill Workout, Packing, And Pizza

Happy hump day, friends! How is your week treating you so far!? Mine has been busy, but great.

The morning started with a 5:45 a.m. spin class and a drive to my home town.  It poured rain the whole hour and a half drive. I picked up Starbucks when I got to town and stopped by my best friend’s house for a short visit.

Once I left her house and had a small lunch, I went to my mom’s place. She is moving on Saturday so we spent a few hours going through her things and packing. After packing, we were hungry so we met my best friend at Spinozas. It is the BEST pizza I have ever had!

I had a greek salad and split their Margarita pizza with my mom! So good!!

After dinner, we watched the finale of the Bachelorette, then called it a night.

The morning started with Starbucks, because obviously it’s a necessity. Haha! Joking…kind of. After coffee and food, it was time to workout. I did one of my favorite treadmill workouts, which I am excited to share!

Start with a warmup and a mile build (I included my warmup in my 1 mile build)

After a mile, turn your incline up to 15. Once you get there, you will jog .20 of a mile, then take your incline to a 14 and walk .10 of a mile. Next, take the incline to 13 and jog .20, then down to 12 and walk .10. Repeat this until you get to an incline of 3.

The whole workout is 3 miles (not including warm-up and cool down).

*if the incline is too much, start at one you are comfortable at.

*you can always speed walk instead of jog.

*listen to your body! Incline workouts are hard and only do what you can.

*I am not a personal trainer and only post workouts that work for me and my body! Only do what works for you!!

The workout was sweaty and went by quickly! Always a great way to start the day!

Afterwards was some more packing and lunch before heading home.

That’s all for today! Have a great one!

Stair Climber To Treadmill Workout

Hello all you lovely people!! Happy Friday! Do you have any fun plans for the weekend? Other than house work, we haven’t made any plans. Buckeye Country Superfest is right by our house, but we don’t know if we want to spend the money to go, even though I love country music. SO. MUCH. We shall see.

Yesterday, I woke up early and went to the gym for some cardio. After our Nashville trip, I knew I wanted a hard, sweaty workout and that is just what I got!! This only took 30 minutes, but I promise it was intense.

First, start off at the stair climber.

Do 5 minutes of building each minute, starting from an easy walk all the way to a very fast walk or jog. Repeat this 4 times. At this point you will be at 20 minutes.

Hop off and head to a treadmill.

On the treadmill, do one minute walk or jog, one minute sprint. Do this until you hit a mile.

Cool down as long as you need.

There you have it! A super intense 30 minute workout! The stairs and I have a love/hate relationship haha. They are so hard, but have some great benefits.

*please note that I am not a personal trainer and only post workouts that work for me and my body. Talk to a professional before starting a new workout routine. *

After my workout,  I drove to my home town (about an hour and a half from where I live now) to see my best friend and her two wonderful kiddos. We got to have a Starbucks date and just hang out. I sure do miss living close to her!

While I was in town,  I met my mom for lunch at Panera, then did some shopping before hitting the road back to my place.

I love Panera. So healthy and tasty!!

Well, friends, I hope you have an awesome Friday!! I look forward to reading what you have been up to. Talk soon!

Beat The Boredom 30 Minute Treadmill Workout and Teacher Appreciation Week

Hi, all! Happy Tuesday, and to my fellow teachers: happy teacher appreciation week!! I hope you realize just how awesome you are, and I hope you are celebrated like you deserve to be. Our school had City Barbeque catered for lunch, which was so good! I used the pulled chicken and put it on a salad I made. I also brought my own sides. This kept me healthy, while still enjoying lunch! Also, Chipotle is giving educators buy one get one free today (If you are a teacher, I’m sure you already know that)! I LOVE Chipotle and the fact that it can be healthy, but still delicious. That will be dinner for me and my husband this evening.

My go to meal is a bowl with brown rice, fajita veggies, chicken, corn, and tomatoes. YUM!!

Now, on to the cardio workout!!

This morning was a cardio day for me. I try to mix up my workouts because I get bored so easily. I decided to hop on the treadmill for a quick, but super intense workout. I was sweating like crazy, but felt so good about it when I finished! Here it is:

One mile run (start at a jog and build to a solid run)

Next, you will do one minute of a left side shuffle, one minute of a right side shuffle,  then one minute walk.

Next is one minute jog at an incline, one minute run at an incline  (mine was at a 10), and one minute walk.

Next is one minute jog, one minute all out sprint, and one minute walk.

Repeat all 3 circuits 3 times through for a total of 6!

Cool down until you get to 30 minutes or as long as you need!

After my workout, I sat at Starbucks to eat breakfast and have a Venti coffee before work!

I also had a Lara Bar, but ate it before I snapped this picture!!

I hope you guys have a fabulous rest of your day and week! Let me know if you try the workout!

*Please note that I am not a personal trainer. I simply post workouts that I do and what works for me and my body. Always consult a professional before starting a new workout routine.

Fit Friday-cardio and weights HIIT workout

Happy Friday, everyone! I hope you had a great week, but if you didn’t,  I hope the weekend helps you forget about it. My husband and I are moving into our first house tomorrow. I’m as anxious as I am excited!

This morning, in the midst of packing, I wanted to get in a quick, yet efficient workout. I love high intensity workouts  because you can get so much out of 30 minutes (which is exactly how long I worked out this morning).

This workout requires a cardio machine  (I used a treadmill) and a set of hand weights/dumbells.

Warmup for at least 5 minutes before you start!

The workout:

  • One mile run (I did a build from an easy jog to a steady run)
  • Next do 10 rounds of the following: one minute sprint, one minute weighted exercise off of treadmill

Here are the exercises I did:

  1. Curl press
  2. Lunges
  3. Plank
  4. Back rows
  5. Arnold press
  6. Push ups
  7. Mountain climbers
  8. Squat with a front kick
  9. Db bench on floor
  10. Calf raises

Make sure you take a few minutes to cool down!

*please note that I am not a personal trainer. Be careful with hiit workouts and always listen to your body. I only post workouts that work for me, and what I feel comfortable doing.
On that note, I need to get some rest before our big day tomorrow! Have a great weekend and enjoy the workout!
