Fit Friday, A Flat Tire, And Week 22 Of My Pregnancy

Hello and happy Friday, all! Our students are off today, so I am spending the day working in our classroom…sort of…or maybe drinking Starbucks…lol!

Anyway, this week had its ups and downs. UP: I am 22 weeks pregnant as of yesterday! Another week of feeling my precious girl and another week closer to holding her in my arms. Oh my heart!

DOWN: I got a flat tire driving home from work the other day and my husband had to leave work to rescue me. Tires are not cheap! Ugh!! It could have been worse though.

Okay, back to baby updates:

Terrible picture of me, but it is fun to watch her grow.

She is kicking like crazy! I love feeling her. It is so reassuring.

WEIGHT GAIN: Right around 12-13 pounds depending on when I weigh.

CRAVINGS: Cheese and pretzels, french toast sticks…lol

THE DOWNS:

*I have been moody

*Itchy skin

*Acne

*Im starting to get uncomfortable with my growing belly

THE UPS:

*Still feeling well overall

*She is moving more and more

*Starting her nursery and going through clothes

*Just getting closer to meeting her

FITNESS:

Monday: an upper body workout class

TUESDAY: Cardio

WEDNESDAY: Off due to dealing with my popped tire

THURSDAY: Prenatal barre workout in my basement

FRIDAY: 20 minutes on the treadmill/ jogging and walking, plus 10 minutes on the arc trainer

FOOD THIS WEEK:

Turkey burger, plantain, and veggies

Beef, mushrooms, veggies, and cream of celery over brown rice

Leftover turkey burger with a salad kit

Whole Foods spread

Fit Friday And Week 19 Of My Pregnancy

Hi, all! I am SO happy it’s Friday. I am finally home on my couch, windows open, enjoying a breeze. Yay!

Let’s jump right in…

As of yesterday, I am 19 weeks pregnant. Crazy to think that we will be halfway through in less than a week!

Ignore the messy guest room lol! This belly sure is growing!

We had our anatomy scan on Tuesday and got to see our sweet girl. She is an active one and weighs 10 ounces.

This week in all things pregnancy:

FEELING: I’m feeling good! I am definitely enjoying this while it lasts. No more morning sickness, and not so big that I am uncomfortable.

WEIGHT GAIN: I weighed this morning and I am up 11 pounds. I have made the mistake of reading where others were/are at this point lol! I am embracing the weight, but it is odd seeing myself grow so fast.

SKIN: So itchy…everywhere!!! Also, my face has been breaking out.

CRAVINGS: Cheese

OVERALL: Happy, tired, in love, excited, nervous…just full of emotions.

So….onto this week in food and fitness.

I’m definitely eating more, and working out less, but I am staying healthy and active for myself and sweet baby!

WORKOUTS:

An upper body lifting class on Monday.

Tuesday was cardio at the gym.

Wednesday was a pregnancy lifting workout from YouTube.

Thursday I took off.

Today was 30 minutes of cardio (split between the arc trainer, treadmill, and stair climber).

FOOD:

Meatball sandwich and a salad

Taco Salad

Carmel apples….yay Fall!

Potbelly Subs

Ham and minestrone soup, plus banana nut muffins

Fit Friday-This Week In Review

Happy Friday, all! I officially went back to work this week and I am whooped. This week has been pretty good with food and fitness, despite being so tired.

Let’s recap:

MONDAY:

Monday started with an upper body workout class (modified to keep baby safe).

Afterwards, I grabbed Starbucks then headed into work.

I got the worst headache that lasted most of the day and throughout the evening unfortunately, so I didn’t make it to the grocery store.

Dinner was a hot ham and cheese with sweet potato wedges.

TUESDAY:

I had to wake up at 4:30 to teach online before work. I ended up doing my grocery shopping that morning, too!

After work, I went to the gym for a quick treadmill workout.

Dinner was stir fry. Yum!

We watched some tv before bed.

WEDNESDAY:

The morning started early again for teaching, followed by a pregnancy lifting workout. Thanks, YouTube!

After work, my mom came over and we picked up decorations for our gender reveal this weekend!!! Eeee!!

We got whole foods salad bar for dinner.

THURSDAY:

Our first work day with the kiddos!

Me and my work bestie! I started my 5th year and she started her 11th. I couldn’t make it through without her.

It was a good day!

Afterwards, I did a spin class at my gym before coming home to my husband cooking dinner.

Turkey bugers and salad!

I fell asleep early on the couch!

FRIDAY:

This morning, I did a cardio session (10 minutes treadmill and 20 on the arc trainer) before work.

The day was so long, but now I am home relaxing with my kitties.

Tomorrow will be spent cleaning the whole day since we have our gender reveal party on Sunday!

I can’t wait to share what are little pumpkin is!!

Fit Friday-All Things Food And Fitness, Plus A Husband Brag Story

Friday is here!! My husband and I leave for our cabin getaway after work and I am SO excited! We have a cozy little cabin with a fire place, hot tub, and grill. Before I get to my weekly recap I have a husband brag story. This week has been pretty bad weather wise for us. Between the snow, ice, and cold, it was a mess. Monday night, while in our sweats, watching our show, we heard a car screeching outside. We looked out the window and notice an older man completely stuck in the snow. My husband immediately went to get his coat on and go help (while at least 4 cars drove by). My husband spent a while and got the man pulled out. The same thing happened 2 more times in the next few days. My husband pulled 3 cars total out of the snow. He helped without hesitation. I’m a proud wife to say the least.

Now, onto my health and fitness recap of the week…

MONDAY:

I had the day off of work, but still woke up for an early morning cycle plus strength class. It is 35 minutes of spinning and 25 of weights. I love this class!

Lunch was delicious…I made a salad kit with leftover pasta and coconut oil fried plantain. Yum!

For dinner, we had roast with potatoes and carrots. I put my roast on an English muffin.

I also spent the day binge watching a show on Netflix called Glitch. Very entertaining.

TUESDAY:

I woke up to a call saying our school was closed due to weather. My husband and I got to get Starbucks before he went to work!

My workout was a 3 mile treadmill workout mixing up sprinting, jogging, and walking.

Lunch was a turkey burger with guacamole and chips.

My mom came and spent the day with me and we did some shopping! We grabbed Whole Foods for dinner and it was tasty as always!

After dinner, we watched This Is Us before bed!

WEDNESDAY:

I woke up early for a workout class called TCX (total conditioning extreme). As I was leaving, I got the call that our school was cancelled again! I still went to the class and it was awesome. I worked hard and it felt good.

After my class, I grabbed Starbucks for my husband and I to drink at home before he headed to work.

I met my husband for lunch at Panera. I like meeting mid day!

We went to our friend’s new house that night to help put some things together. I had Panera for dinner. Twice in one day haha!

THURSDAY:

I finally had work after 3 days off! Crazy, right? Lol!!

After work, I went to the gym for some cardio. I did half of my workout on the stair climber and half on the treadmill. I struggled a bit.

I was so hungry when I got home! For dinner, I made a turkey burger with guacamole and cheese, plus a bunch of sweet potato fries.

After dinner, we went to Field and Stream to get hiking boots. I didn’t have a super nice pair that I could wear in the snow, so my husband got me a pair as my Christmas present. My original gift was backordered so I never got it.

Boots and two new headbands! Thanks, hubby!!

After shopping, we came home and watched the show Worst Cooks In America. We love cooking shows and this one is hilarious!! Master Chef is our favorite though.

FRIDAY:

I woke up early to take my gluteus maxout class. Leg day might backfire since we are spending the weekend hiking haha!!

After work, we will pack and head to our cabin for the weekend! Whoo hoo!!

Weekend Wrap-Up-A Treadmill Workout, Healthy Food, And An Evening With Friends

Hi there, everyone! I hope you had a lovely weekend. I sure did! I can’t belive I go back to work tomorrow after 2 weeks off. Here’s hoping the kids aren’t too crazy haha!

Here’s a little wrap-up of the weekend!

FRIDAY NIGHT:

My husband and I had friends over for dinner. They recently got back from their honeymoon in Hawaii and had some great stories! Lots of laughs and tasty food is good for the soul. 

For dinner, I made a chili pasta and cornbread muffins. My friend brought a poppyseed salad to go with it! We also had some wine and champagne. Yum! 

SATURDAY:

I woke up and had coffee with my husband before heading to the gym. I decided to do a 30 minute treadmill workout that I came up with on the spot. I liked it a lot and will do it again for sure!

Here’s what I did: I started at an easy jog pace. I sped up the pace every minute until I reached 5 minutes. Next, I walked a minute before repeating the 5 minute build. This went on until I hit 30 minutes. It kept my heart rate up and I left super sweaty. 

*note that I am not a personal trainer and only post workouts that work for me and my body! 

After the gym, shower, and a quick lunch, my husband and I met his mom to pick up some tools to work on our house. We spent the rest of the day  (and into the evening) working on trim and stairs. Our house is becoming so homey with each new thing we do and I love it!!

We finally chilled out, made dinner and watched a movie before bed. 

Chicken sausage, sweet potato fries, and an english muffin. Quick and tasty!

SUNDAY:

Today is a tough day for me. My dad passed away 6 years ago today. He was such an amazing man and I miss him dearly. 

One of my favorite family photos! My whole family on the day I was born.

We have kept busy today which helps! This morning, I made coffee and relaxed until my husband woke up. We decided to go out to brunch at a place called Scramblers. I love their breakfast food! 

My plate of scrambled eggs, turkey sausage, an english muffin, and fruit!

After we ate, we went to Lowe’s to get some things for the house. I dropped my husband off at home and headed to the grocery store. 

Once I got home and unloaded everything, I picked up the house.

By the time I finished I was hungry and made dinner.

A large salad with chicken and coconut oil fried plantain! 

Now I am watching Shark Tank while my husband continues to work on the house. He is the best! 

I’m off to check on him…
