Foodie Friday, Fitness, And Pregnancy (28 weeks)

Hello and happy Friday, all! I hope the week has treated you well! I feel like I have been a zombie all week. I have been absolutely exhausted. Guess that’s what two jobs and pregnancy do to you haha. I finally feel human today since I got to sleep in until 6! Yay!!

Anyway, as far as pregnancy goes, I am 28 weeks. Not too far away from meeting baby girl! Appointments are officially every 2 weeks at this point.

CHALLENGES:

*Exhaustion: If I lay down, I fall asleep. It is a painful tired most days.

*Acne: I sure do miss my nice, pre-pregnancy skin.

*Back pain: I am still having bad back pain, which makes even simple tasks so hard.

*Bladder pressure and cramps

*Itchy skin

Okay, enough complaining lol! Let’s talk positives!!

THE GOOD STUFF:

*Baby kicks: I love feeling her move!

*Seeing my belly grow: this was hard at first, but I love it now.

*Extra bonding with my husband.

*Getting our home baby-ready.

*We are so in love already!!!

FOOD THIS WEEK:

Broccoli and cheese stuffed chicken with a salad.

Whole wheat pasta with meatballs.

Ground beef, onions, mushrooms, and cream of mushroom soup over brown rice.

Pizza!

Food was so good this week and I saved money shopping at Aldi! Yay!!

WORKOUTS:

I have been taking it easy since my back has been bad, but I’m getting them in!

*Monday- barre video

*Tuesay-arc trainer

*Wednesday-a pregnancy lifting video

*Thursday-a lateral cardio machine

Today will be a barre video after work!

A Baby Filled Weekend (A 1st Birthday Party And My Baby Shower)

Hi, all! Sunday is winding down, and I am laying here with my husband. Our weekend was so nice and full of love! It was busy, so I didn’t get my typical weekend cleaning done, but I have some time over Thanksgiving week to do that.

Let’s recap the weekend!

SATURDAY:

The day started early with online teaching. After teaching, I did a quick pure barre video before getting ready for the day.

My husband and I headed out late morning to go to Cincinnati to celebrate my niece’s first birthday!

When we got there, they had a taco bar for lunch.

It was yummy!

The birthday girl opened presents and gobbled down her cake. We also watched football and just enjoyed the day with my family!

By the time we got home, we didn’t want to cook so we picked up Jersey Mikes subs for dinner.

We ate and watched TV until bed.

SUNDAY:

My mom came over early and we went to church together. It was so nice. After church, we picked up smoothies before heading back to my place.

I had a hair appointment (which ended up being a slight fiasco). Insted of checking me in when I got there, they canceled my appointment. By the time it was all figured out, we started super late, and I didn’t have time to get my hair washed. She curled it quickly! Luckily, they didn’t charge me.

I hurried home, changed, then headed to my baby shower.

Foodie Friday And Pregnancy Pains (End Of The 2nd Trimester)

Hi, all! Well, I’m less than a week away from my 3rd trimester, which is crazy! It is officially a struggle due to some terrible back pain. I tried on the dress for my baby shower today and just can’t believe how much my belly is growing.

STRUGGLES:

*Baby girl is potentially laying on a nerve and it hurts to even walk. This makes work tough, but I have my amazing work bestie who helps me out all the time.

*Leg cramps: they come in the middle of the night and are excruciating.

*Continued acne and redness on my face.

*Hungry ALL the time….like so hungry haha

Pregnancy is hard as it is beautiful. I do love my growing belly and have SO much to be greatful for.

THANKFULNESS:

*Baby kicks: they literally are amazing.

*A healthy, growing baby girl.

*A husband that rubs out cramps in the middle of the night and helps me put my shoes on in the morning.

THIS WEEK IN FOOD:

Pasta, turkey meatballs, and toast.

Taco salad with coconut oil fried plantain.

Veggie burger (I had 2) and corn.

My hash/stew that was delicious! It had chunks of turkey, coconut oil fried sweet potatoes, onions, mushrooms, and a can of cream of mushroom soup. YUMMMM!

THIS WEEK IN FITNESS:

I have done super low impact this week due to my back pain. I want to stay active and healthy, yet listen to my body and take it easy.

MONDAY: I took an upper body workout class at my gym. I avoided the cardio they did, but still lifted a little.

TUESDAY: I went for a swim which felt good to get cardio without impact.

WEDNESDAY: Pure barre video

THURSDAY: I did the stationary bike, then stretched out.

FRIDAY: A short pure barre video

This upcoming weekend will be busy, but I’m excited for it!!! Tomorrow, we are heading to Cincinnati for my niece’s first birthday party. It is about a 2 hour drive each way so we will be gone most of the day.

Sunday is my baby shower!! Yay!

Our Long Weekend

Hello, everyone! To start this Memorial weekend post I want to say God bless those that serve, fight, and die for our freedom. You are the real heroes.

How has your weekend been, friends? Ours has been so lovely! The extra day off was much needed.

Let’s recap:

SATURDAY:

I woke up, made a pot of coffee, and relaxed a bit. I decided to go for a jog outside, but 2 miles in it started raining, so I figured that was enough of a workout for the day!

I showered and got ready for the day! My husband’s cousin (who was my college roommate) brought her two daughters to spend the day and we had so much fun!

The weather got very nice after the short rain so we took the girls to the outdoor mall near my house. First, we went to the fountains and watched them play, which was so cute.

Afterwards, we went to Bubbles juice bar for smoothies! I also had a yummy protein bar!

Our next stop was Barnes and Noble book store. The girls played with trains and looked at books!

They fell asleep in the car so we said our goodbyes.

When I got home, I sent the hubs out to get Chipotle while I watched Netflix!

Yummmm!

After dinner, we played cards, then watched TV until bed.

SUNDAY:

I woke up, had some coffee, then went to a yoga class at my gym. It was so needed!!!

For lunch, we made avacado egg salad and it was delicious!

After lunch, we packed up a beach bag and headed to a small local beach about a half hour from our house.

We layed out, played frisbee, and relaxed. It was a blast.

When we got home we had showers before making dinner.

I had a veggie burger, sweet potato fries, and a spinach salad.

The rest of the evening was spent watching basketball.

MONDAY:

I woke up, had coffee, and watched some Netflix before heading to the gym. I took a class that was half gluteus maxout and half upper body extreme. It felt awesome!!

I grabbed a smoothie from the cafe before heading home.

Once I got home, I spent a few hours cleaning and prepping for my online teaching job this week. I love a clean, organized home!

Lunch was leftover avacado egg salad, crackers, cheese, grapes, and turkey pepperoni.

Next up was grocery shopping. I went to Aldi and did so well! I love that store so much. They have such good food for awesome prices.

After putting groceries away, we relaxed a bit until it was time for dinner.

We grilled out and everything was so tasty.

Now it is Bachelorette time!

Also, how cute is my chunk??

Our Nashville Weekend

Hello and happy Easter, everyone!! Typically, I would spend mine at church, followed by family time, but this year is being spent in the car driving home. We did stop for a tasty brunch though!

We had such a great weekend in Nashville, visiting my cousin and exploring the city.

Here’s all we did:

FRIDAY:

We got to Nashville around 3 and got settled into our air bnb. It was a great place! We did a Kroger run, then came home and got ready to meet my cousin for dinner.

Pre dinner pics:

We went to dinner at a place called The Tavern, and it was delicious! We all split the buffalo cauliflower as an appetizer, and I had their kale and parmesan salad with salmon as my main meal. YUM!

After dinner, we all went back to the air bnb and played cards until bed.

SATURDAY:

We started the day early with a short treadmill workout at my cousin’s apartment gym.

After the gym, we got lattes and muffins from The Frothy Monkey. It was all so good!!

Next, we all showered at got ready for the day. Our first stop downtown was the Ryman Auditorium. We did the self guided tour and it was awesome.

By the time we finished, we were ready for lunch. We headed over Dierks Bentley’s new restaurant/bar called Whiskey Row and sat on the rooftop. It was a beautiful day! The place was packed.

Lunch was delicious!!! I had a turkey melt and grits (best I’ve ever had)!

After lunch, we went over to the Country Music Hall Of Fame and Museum. I loved it!!! I learned so much.

Our next stop was an adorable little place called Mockingbird. We all had their adult “juice boxes.” They were so cute and tasty!

By this time, we were all pretty tired and hungry again! We ordered pizza from Two Boots to take back to the air bnb. While we waited, we stopped by the huge wings mural for pictures.

We grabbed our pizzas, headed back to eat, drink, watch the final four games, and play more cards.

This pizza was called Earth Mother and it was super yummy!!

I crashed hard that night!

SUNDAY:

We woke up early and grabbed Starbucks and a snack before saying goodbye to my cousin. We packed up and headed out! We stopped for brunch at Cracker Barrel. It was great, as always!

We have about two hours left on our drive and I’m ready to get back to my kitties!!
