Sunny Day Workouts And A Weekend Update

Hello, all! I am in a swimsuit for the first time this year, enjoying a beautiful, sunny day! I got a high wasted suit last year from Amazon and love it. The rest of the week is supposed to be rainy, so I am enjoying being outside as much as possible.

SATURDAY was sunny and beautiful, too. We spent the day outside watering flowers, taking walks, working out, and waving to neighbors.

My husband did yard work the whole day. He is the best!

The day ended with City BBQ and finshing Outer Banks on Netflix!

SUNDAY was chilly and rainy, so we played inside, and I deep cleaned the house during K’s naps. Dinner was chickpea pasta with meat sauce. After dinner, we watched 17 Again. That is such a cute movie!

As far as WORKOUTS go, I did mine outdoors Saturday and today, while resting on Sunday.

On Saturday, I used bands, kettlebells, and stairs to do a circuit workout. It was fun, and being outside is so motivating!

Today, I did a few full body excercises with the bands, then K and I headed outside for a stroller hill and barre workout. It felt amazing, and the weather was PERFECT!

These nice days are making me so happy, and I am looking forward to steady warm weather.

Fit Friday-Outside Stroller Workout

Hello all and happy Friday!! I hope you are all staying healthy and sane. With my husband and sister-in-law still working, I definitely get caught up in my anxiety, but am trying my best to stay calm through everything.

I miss seeing my mom often, and am craving some adult time. Luckily, my daughter and I have been having fun, and the weather has been absolutely beautiful!

Yesterday, we were out a lot between the stroller and her big kid car. She likes the car best because she can sit up. Gosh, I love my curly haired cutie!

In the morning, I put her in the stroller for a barre/cardio workout. She napped for most of it. It was perfect, and a great change of pace from just running. Plus, the fresh air gave me extra motivation. I found a workout online and changed it up a bit.

THE WORKOUT:

*Half (ish) mile run

*1 hill jog

*20 squats + 20 lunges (10 each side) -5 times through both excercises

I repeated everything 3 times, I just switched up the leg excercises!

OTHER LEG EXERCISES: Side leg lifts, calf raises, leg pulses, squat jumps

The whole thing took me around 40 minutes. It felt SO good. I hope to do this style a lot now that the weather is getting nicer.

This weekend is calling for rain and storms, but we are hoping to get outside in between.

Our Busy, Family-Filled Weekend

Hello, everyone! Ah, Monday came again way too quickly. I definitely could have used an extra day to sleep, but oh well! We had a busy weekend and it flew by.

Time to recap:

SATURDAY:

The day started super early (6am). My hubby and I got on the road to my mom’s place in Cincinnati. We moved her into a newer, nicer apartment! Yay!! We grabbed Starbucks for breakfast on the way.

The move took all day, but went smoothly! We took lunch and dinner breaks of course. Lunch was Jersey Mike’s subs and dinner was Whole Foods.

Yum!!!

My husband worked so hard to get everything perfect for my mom. He is the best!

We got home late, but stayed up to watch football. I had trouble falling asleep, which stunk because I had to get up early.

SUNDAY:

The day started early, as I had to teach online. I was exhausted!

I decided to go for a jog after and made it 3 miles! I was so proud of myself. It’s been forever since I have felt good enough to go that far.

After my jog and a quick lunch, we packed up our beach bag to go to Alum Creek to meet up with my husband’s family. It is close to our house and has a beach and lots of room for fun things. My in-laws brought their jet skis and snacks for the day.

17 weeks, 3 days!

After our day outside we were all super hungry. We went to Cracker Barrel for dinner and it was delicious!

After dinner we came home and crashed hard!

It was a good weekend!

Weekends Are For Relaxing, Organizing, And Date Nights

Hello, all! Well, another weekend is winding down and it’s back to work tomorrow. Our weekend has been so nice! It was a perfect balance of relaxing, fun, and productive. Let’s recap, shall we?

FRIDAY NIGHT:

For dinner, I had this healthy pizza from Whole Foods plus a salad! So good!!

After dinner, the hubs and I watched Master Chef Jr. before heading to bed.

SATURDAY:

I woke up fairly early and made some coffee and protein pancakes.

After breakfast, I went for a short jog outside. The weather was lovely! After my run, I met my best friend (who was in town for a few hours) at Starbucks. We sat and talked a while and did some shopping before she left.

When I got home, my husband and I started working on our to-do organizing list! One thing on the list was to hang the beautiful wine rack my brother-in-law made for us. He is so talented!

Once we decided to be done for the day we got ready for a date night!

We had dinner at Texas Road House, then headed to the movies to see 🐓 Blockers. Dinner was delicious and the movie was hilarious!!!!

By the time we got home it was late so we went straight to bed.

SUNDAY:

I woke up and had some coffee before getting to work on certifications for my new online teaching job. When my husband woke up, we got back to organizing and so much was accomplished! It makes me so happy!

I took a break and had a bath. It was so relaxing! Afterwards, I did a quick yoga video.

For dinner, I made a taco salad. It was so tasty!

We are finally done with house work and it is time to relax.

A Taste Of Spring, A Day Off, A Night With Friends, Tasty Food, And A Week Of Fitness

Hello and happy Friday, all! I have had a pretty good week, minus feeling exhausted at work. Between the tasty food, new workouts, one stunning day, and a day off, I sure can’t complain.

Here’s the recap:

MONDAY:

Due to President’s Day, I had the day off of work. I took advantage of sleeping in and utilizing the time to clean, fold laundry, get in a great upper body lifting workout, get an oil change (thanks hubby), and shop with my mom!

As for this day in food….

For lunch, I had a chicken and couscous bowl from the cafe at my gym. It was delicious! I also had banana bread when I got home.

Dinner was grilled cheese and minestrone soup!

After dinner, we watched the Bachelor before bed!

TUESDAY:

The day was absolutely beautiful outside!! It got up to 74 degrees, which made me so excited for spring weather!

After work, I went over to the reservoir by my house for a run. It was so nice!

After my run, my husband and I got ready and went to our friend’s house for dinner. They made jambalaya with garlic bread. It was delicious!!!!

Also, they have a super cute puppy who just loves me.

We got home pretty late and went straight to bed.

WEDNESDAY:

I decided to try a new workout class before work, and I’m so glad I did! It was a tabata class and only a half hour, but so intense. It was 20 seconds all out, 10 seconds rest of a bunch of different excercises. I will be doing it again for sure.

Dinner was a turkey burger with avacado and coconut oil fried plantain!

THURSDAY:

I started the morning with a spin class. It was a good one, but I sure was tired.

After work, I took a nap before making dinner. Grilled cheese and leftover minestrone soup…

I’m a kid at heart.

I fell asleep early on the couch!

FRIDAY:

I started the morning with my gluteus maxout class and it was great as always.

I grabbed Starbucks before work.

I have a busy weekend ahead, but it should be fun!
