Weekend Wrap-Up (Food, Fitness, And Baby Prep)

Hello, all!! How was your weekend?! Ours was busy, but we have made so much progress on getting ready for our sweet baby girl.

Let’s recap:

FRIDAY:

After work, I hit up the gym for 30 minutes of cardio. It felt so good, especially after a long day.

Dinner was a tuna melt and sweet potato waffle fries. I also had 2 (or 3) fudge cookies for dessert lol!

After dinner, we watched Ozark until bed.

SATURDAY:

The day started early with online teaching before heading to the gym for a quick pregnancy strength workout.

By the time we got home, my in-laws were over and ready to help with the nursery. The boys got to work on the drywall, while the girls went to Lowe’s for paint!

I just love our color scheme.

We grabbed lunch to take home from Jimmy Johns.

After lunch, it was back to work! We got to cleaning and setting some items up.

By dinner time we were all tired so we ate lasagna and rented a movie.

I read a little before bed.

SUNDAY:

The day started with coffee before getting to work. My mom came over and had lunch with me at Zoup. It was so tasty!

After lunch, we went shopping for more baby items. When we got home, I did laundry and swooned over baby clothes.

Now, I am relaxing a bit before getting back to some cleaning and organizing! I feel a touch under the weather, so I’m hoping I can get a lot of sleep tonight!

Fit Friday (This Week In Food And Fitness During Pregnancy)

Hello and happy Friday, all!! We have a big weekend planned. My in-laws are coming and we are doing the nursery. I am so excited to get our sweet girl’s room done!

I am 29 weeks pregnant (as of yesterday) and feeling huge.

I had a dr. appointment today and little miss Kennedy is doing great! I have gained 19 pounds and have 11 weeks to go. Whoo!

Overall, I’m feeling good, minus having some trouble moving around haha.

I feel really good about my workouts this week, especially since my back feels better. Not perfect, but tolerable. We ate well, too! Here’s the recap:

MONDAY:

After work, I went to the chiropractor before heading home. Once I got home, I did prenatal barre workout.

Dinner was whole wheat spaghetti with meatballs and a salad.

TUESDAY:

I went to the gym for some cardio. I did 20 minutes on the elliptical and 10 on the stair climber.

Dinner was a big salad with cast iron chicken and plantains. Yum!

The hubs and I rented the new Mission Impossible, but I slept through most of it. Pregnancy problems! Lol!

WEDNESDAY:

After work, I went to the gym for another cardio workout. Dinner was cornbread and chili! So perfect for a cold evening.

THURSDAY:

After work, I came home and did a hiit barre workout. It was a short one, but felt good!

My husband had a potluck at work and brought home leftovers, so I had a seven layer salad with tuna and pita chips for dinner. I also had a cornbread muffin!

I spent the evening cleaning and folding laundry before watching a show in bed.

FRIDAY:

I woke up and grabbed Starbucks on the way to my dr. appointment. I plan on hitting up the gym and Target after work!

Foodie Friday, Fitness, And Pregnancy (28 weeks)

Hello and happy Friday, all! I hope the week has treated you well! I feel like I have been a zombie all week. I have been absolutely exhausted. Guess that’s what two jobs and pregnancy do to you haha. I finally feel human today since I got to sleep in until 6! Yay!!

Anyway, as far as pregnancy goes, I am 28 weeks. Not too far away from meeting baby girl! Appointments are officially every 2 weeks at this point.

CHALLENGES:

*Exhaustion: If I lay down, I fall asleep. It is a painful tired most days.

*Acne: I sure do miss my nice, pre-pregnancy skin.

*Back pain: I am still having bad back pain, which makes even simple tasks so hard.

*Bladder pressure and cramps

*Itchy skin

Okay, enough complaining lol! Let’s talk positives!!

THE GOOD STUFF:

*Baby kicks: I love feeling her move!

*Seeing my belly grow: this was hard at first, but I love it now.

*Extra bonding with my husband.

*Getting our home baby-ready.

*We are so in love already!!!

FOOD THIS WEEK:

Broccoli and cheese stuffed chicken with a salad.

Whole wheat pasta with meatballs.

Ground beef, onions, mushrooms, and cream of mushroom soup over brown rice.

Pizza!

Food was so good this week and I saved money shopping at Aldi! Yay!!

WORKOUTS:

I have been taking it easy since my back has been bad, but I’m getting them in!

*Monday- barre video

*Tuesay-arc trainer

*Wednesday-a pregnancy lifting video

*Thursday-a lateral cardio machine

Today will be a barre video after work!

Thanksgiving And The Start Of My Third Trimester

Hi, everyone! I hope the week treated you well!

Thanksgiving Day marked the beginning of my third trimester. I can’t believe we will be meeting our sweet girl so soon. It is surreal.

As far as how I am feeling…

Well, overall still pretty decent. My back pain ranges from dull, constant pain to severe shooting pains.

It is improving somewhat with my belly band and yoga!

As far as exercise goes, I was able to do a cycle class this week! Yay! I also did an upper body workout and a few barre workouts!

My skin seems to be getting better, too!

Cravings include grilled cheese, peanut butter cups, and fruit snacks LOL

I had the dreaded glucose test this past week.

The drink left me nauseous all day, but overall it wasn’t as bad as I expected! Plus, the results came back great! Baby is doing awesome!

Anyway, yesterday for Thanksgiving, my husband and I went to my mom’s place and had a delicious meal and watched football. It was just the three of us this year, which was nice and relaxing!

On Sunday, we have my husband’s side Thanksgiving, which will be big, so it was nice to spend the holiday the way we did.

Having some time off of work has been nice because I am getting things off of my to-do list! So much to do before Kennedy arrives!

Now off to (maybe) do some Christmas shopping and knock more off of my list!

A Baby Filled Weekend (A 1st Birthday Party And My Baby Shower)

Hi, all! Sunday is winding down, and I am laying here with my husband. Our weekend was so nice and full of love! It was busy, so I didn’t get my typical weekend cleaning done, but I have some time over Thanksgiving week to do that.

Let’s recap the weekend!

SATURDAY:

The day started early with online teaching. After teaching, I did a quick pure barre video before getting ready for the day.

My husband and I headed out late morning to go to Cincinnati to celebrate my niece’s first birthday!

When we got there, they had a taco bar for lunch.

It was yummy!

The birthday girl opened presents and gobbled down her cake. We also watched football and just enjoyed the day with my family!

By the time we got home, we didn’t want to cook so we picked up Jersey Mikes subs for dinner.

We ate and watched TV until bed.

SUNDAY:

My mom came over early and we went to church together. It was so nice. After church, we picked up smoothies before heading back to my place.

I had a hair appointment (which ended up being a slight fiasco). Insted of checking me in when I got there, they canceled my appointment. By the time it was all figured out, we started super late, and I didn’t have time to get my hair washed. She curled it quickly! Luckily, they didn’t charge me.

I hurried home, changed, then headed to my baby shower.
