Foodie Friday-Favorite Eats Lately, Plus A Life Update

Hello and happy Friday!! I hope the week treated you well. My sweet girl turned 2 on Tuesday and we had fun celebrating her. My husband came home mid-day from work so we could sing and open presents. When he headed back to work, my mom, mother-in-law, and I took K to lunch. It was so fun!

We also had her 2 year checkup this week. She is doing great, but is behind in speech. We are being referred to speech therapy and that makes me so happy!♡

Other updates:

WATCHING:

*The Vanishing at Cecil Hotel-oh my goodness! Is anyone else watching this??? So creepy!!

*The Bachelor-this has always been a favorite of mine!

*Hell’s Kitchen-I just love Gordon Ramsey.

EXCITED ABOUT:

*I am longing for spring and warmer weather! I can’t wait until we spend our days outside in the sunshine.

*VACATIONS:

*We have 2 planned: one is at Gun Lake in Michigan this summer, and one in North Carolina in Fall. Two of my favorite places!!

WORKOUTS:

*I tend to use my loop bands the most out of anything! It is awesome how I get so sore from them. I also take advantage of my large basement to run around for cardio.

FOOD:

Now onto all of the tasy things we’ve been eating….

Chinese takeout!
Potatoes, mixed veggies, chicken sausage, garlic, and lots of seasonings. I put mine over cauliflower rice! Soooo yummy!
2 of my girlfriends came over and we snacked on this plus had some wine! We had so much fun.
Okay so this was amazing!! It is a Reeses Cup smoothie from a place called Power Fuel Nutrition. Yum!!!

Some other favorites lately include pork chops, edamame spaghetti, and deer steaks!

A Family, Food, And Fitness Update

Hi, all!! The baby is napping and my cleaning is done, so I am relaxing with my cats and favorite chocolate. My mind has been racing quite a bit with everything going on, but I have been counting my blessings every day. Here is a little life update….

BABY:

Or should I say toddler? This kid keeps me on my toes, and I just adore her. She is learning new skills every day, and is absolutely hilarious. She is walking along everything, but not quite without support yet! She makes my days fun, but definitely has way more energy than me.

FITNESS:

Working out at home has been pretty fun actually! I have been using bands, my new kettlebells (thanks, mom), running, and the baby is awesome added weight for squats and stairs. Plus, she thinks it is funny. Win for everyone!!

FOOD:

We are trying to continue to eat well, and cook healthy, tasty meals! Just a few favorites that my wonderful husband cooked…

FAMILY:

When the days are nice, we take walks. Yesterday, we went for a long family walk. It was wonderful! We have some beautiful areas around and the baby loves riding in her truck.

We utilize facetime often to see our families, and play trivia with mine! It has been so fun. We miss everyone though!

PROJECTS:

We have been trying to do some fun projects around the house. My sister-in-law and I made a flag pallet and it turned out so cute!

We also have been working on a puzzle and have a great start on it.

OTHER:

My husband is still working, but baby K and I are hunkered down and enjoying our days together. I hope you are all staying safe and healthy!

Let’s Have A Coffee Date

Happy Friday, all! How was your week? Mine was okay, but I’ve been feeling sick. My meals have been really odd, so no “Fit Friday” post today haha!

Instead, let’s have a virtual coffee date so I can give you some updates!

First off, I have to tell you about our big purchase we just made! A 2016 Explorer sport. The car is roomy and has the BEST features! I love it.

Next, I would share that I’ve been resting a lot since we returned from vacation. Just trying to soak up summer before I go back to work!

I would share that we have a water leak and have a huge bill coming to get that fixed. Ughh!! The joys of being a homeowner, right?

I would definitely have to talk to you about my new Hulu obsession (thanks to my work bestie)…the Handmaids Tale. It is SO intense, but I’ve been hooked!

I would share that my cats have been extra clingy since I got home from vacation! I just love them so much!!!

Last thing about me….I have been working my online teaching job a lot this summer and it is so fun! Teaching English to the sweetest Chinese students is a blast and it has been so helpful getting extra money.

Food, Fitness, And A Life Update

Hello there, everyone! I almost forgot about my post today because I have been so busy and SO tired. I have worked my online teaching job every day before work this week, and getting up so early is starting to get to me. I am beyond grateful, just tired.

Let’s recap the week!

MONDAY:

I woke up around 4 to teach a few online lessons before heading to work.

After work, I went to the gym for a workout class (the C9 Challenge). It felt pretty good, despite my lack of sleep.

After the gym, I came home and made one of our favorite meals. Antipasto squares and salad! This was the only picture I got…trust me, I had a lot more haha!

I couldn’t keep my eyes open after dinner, so bedtime was early for me.

TUESDAY:

I woke up early again to teach more online lessons before work. My little “classroom” makes me happy!

After work, I went for a short run on the treadmill.

My husband brought home a bunch of food to make for a special dinner! He went all out because it was teacher appreciation day! So sweet!

Turkey burger, lobster tail, and a salad with a ton of tasty toppings!

WEDNESDAY:

I taught one online class that morning, but an extra early one so I could go to tabata class at my gym! It was the last one, and I’m super bummed about it.

Dinner was pasta with meat sauce and toast! Soooo yummy!

After dinner, we watched Survivor before bed.

THURSDAY:

I woke up super early to teach a few lessons. When I finished, I had some coffee and went for a quick run before our fertility appointment.

The results weren’t what we wanted to hear, but we have lots of options. I have been praying alot.

After work, my mom and girlfriend came over. We got Whole Foods for dinner, then came back to my place, chatted and watched Law and Order. It was so nice!

FRIDAY:

I only had one class to teach before work today, so I was able to sleep until around 5…whooo!! I decided to have a red velvet macaroon with my yogurt for breakfast. It was DELICIOUS.

After work, I went to the gym, but I just didn’t have much in me. I did a mile jog and a few chest exercises before leaving. I just wasn’t into it.

Dinner was chicken legs, sweet potato fries, and green beans.

Now, we are watching Battle Bots. Any other nerds in the house? Hahaha!

We have a busy weekend planned. I have 3 classes to teach tomorrow morning! We are also driving to my home town for our friend’s daughter’s first birthday party!

On Sunday, we are doing a Mother’s Day 5k with our moms and having family time.

Birthday Presents, A Fitness Challenge Update, Some Exciting News, And Tasty Food

Hi, everyone!! How has your weekend been?! Mine has been great. Friday was my birthday and I was beyond spoiled!

I wanted to share some of the goodies I got.

A movie gift card and adorable shirt from my mom! She also treated me to half the cost of my hair color earlier this month.

My oldesr brother and his family sent me a huge gift basket full of snacks and other fun treats. It was such a surprise!

Glasses, candles, a bracelet, and a Starbucks gift card! These were from my girlfriends.

My middle brother paid for my winery meal last weekend.

The hubs is taking me to a Reds game (baseball) this spring! I’m pumped. He also got me the cutest card and cooked a delicious dinner!

On Saturday morning, I actually had an interview for Vipkid. The job is teaching English to kids in China. You set up a classroom and teach through a webcam.

Well, the exciting news came that evening…I GOT THE JOB! I am so excited to start!!!

After the interview and a workout, my husband and I had brunch at Scramblers. It was SO good!

Dinner was literally ice cream from Greaters. Not even sorry.

We watched Thor after our ice cream, then went to bed.

FITNESS CHALLENGE UPDATE:

I have been doing a group fitness challenge at my gym. Whoever has the most classes in a certain amount of time gets a gym bag full of goodies. I’m currently tied for second. Time to double up classes! I took yoga tonight and it was worth 2 points….score!

SUNDAY:

We went to church this morning, cleaned, and grocery shopped. I’ve also been getting things turned in for my new job.

My mother in law came over for dinner! It was fun catching up with her!

Chicken parm and a salad kit. YUM!!

Sorry for all of the ramblings! Haha.
