Let’s Have A Christmas Time Coffee Date

Hello, all! It has been a while since I’ve posted, and with the Christmas season upon us, I thought I’d update you over some coffee (or maybe a peppermint mocha)!

CHRISTMAS FUN:

Last weekend was a busy one for us, but so fun! We had family pictures on Saturday, and they turned out so perfect!

On Sunday, we had baby K’s Christmas party at her gym class. She met Santa, and looked absolutely adorable! She did well, and was mostly interested in Mrs. Claus’ glasses.

The next couple of weeks will be full of more holiday festivities!

On Monday, my little lady turned 10 months old. I just can’t believe how much she has grown! She is the absolute sweetest, and I can’t get over how blessed we are.

FITNESS:

I am still managing to sneak off to the gym a few times a week, which is so nice! Some of my favorite classes this past week were gluteus maxout and spinning! The other days, I utilized YouTube, my elliptical, and the hotel gym (we were there for my husband’s work Christmas party).

FOOD:

I’ve been slacking on food pictures, but these are a couple favorites from the week.

Chickpea pasta with meat sauce.

Sweet potatoes, chicken sausage, and french onion soup seasoning with just a little water to make a sauce. It was so tasty!!

OTHER FUN:

I got to see one of my very best friends, and get out of the house for a bit! We did a wine tasting, and had an absolute blast catching up! I miss working with her so much. I get to see her again this upcoming week, which makes my heart so happy!

We went to Kalahari for my husband’s work Christmas party on Thursday. Kalahari is a hotel/resort that has a huge indoor water park, game room, restaurants, etc. It was my first night away from the baby which was hard, but we had a lot of fun! We did all the rides and enjoyed drinks from the hot tub bar. Plus, it wasn’t crowded at all being a week day! We have been on a weekend before and it was packed.

When we got home the next day, the baby was so excited to see us, and gave me the biggest hug and kiss. Talk about melting my heart!! Gosh, I love that kid.

That’s about all for this update. The baby is finally napping, so I am off to clean. I plan on catching up on all of your posts this evening! I can’t wait to see what everyone has been up to!

Our Chicago Getaway

Hello, everyone! I hope you are having a lovely weekend. We are driving home from our mini vacation to Chicago. It was a blast! It was a perfect way to celebrate Brad’s 30th birthday, our anniversary, and our “babymoon.” Let’s jump right in…

FRIDAY:

We left home around 8am and made the 6 hour drive to Chicago. We arrived at our Airbnb around 2:30 ish, unpacked and settled in.

We changed, called an uber, then headed into the city.

Our first stop was the bean to get some pictures!

It started getting a little dark, so we walked over to the Chicago theater to see it all lit up. It was so pretty!!

The evening was absolutely freezing, so we decided on an early dinner at Giordano’s! We got salads and pizzas. Everything was super yummy!

After dinner, we ubered back to our Airbnb, watched a movie, then crashed hard!

SATURDAY:

I woke up before my husband, so I did a short pregnancy workout video. When he woke up, we walked (in the 19 degree weather) to Starbucks for coffee and breakfast.

After breakfast, we got ready for the day and ubered into the city. We walked around until it was time for our first activity!

At noon, we did the Chicago Theater Tour and it was absolutely fantastic! We loved learning the history and not to mention, I adore the theater!

I was like a kid in a candy store Haha!

After the tour, we stopped at a food truck for lunch and ate in the sunshine. Chicago style hot dogs are no joke! YUM!!!

After lunch, we headed to the field museum. It was huge and there was so much to see! We loved the dinosaur exhibit, and also ancient Egypt.

After the museum, we walked a bunch more and saw the bean at night, along with other cool parts of the city.

Our next stop was the John Hancock building! We did Chicago 360, which takes you super high to see some beautiful views. I’m so glad we went at night! There was a wait for this and I was getting nauseous, but felt better once we got to the top.

Afterwards, we were both wiped out from walking all day so we headed to dinner at Gino’s East. I needed water and to just sit. It felt amazing to relax. I wasn’t in the mood for pizza again so I got minestrone soup and a delicious salad with grilled chicken, candied walnuts, cranberries, radishes, cheese chunks, and their delicious house dressing.

After dinner, we ubered back to the Airbnb and both crashed quickly. My total steps on my Fitbit was almost 25,000 for the day! Crazy!!

SUNDAY:

This morning, we packed up early, grabbed Starbucks, and started the trip home. I can’t wait to see my kitties!!

This Week In Food, Fitness, Pregnancy, Birthdays, And Our Upcoming Trip

Hello and happy Friday, all! I can’t sleep in anymore because I am so excited for our getaway. My husband turned 30 yesterday, so we are taking a trip to Chicago just for fun. We are celebrating that, our anniversary, and calling it our babymoon. I planned some things to do, so it should be fun.

Anyway, I am officially 25 weeks pregnant! Baby girl is laying directly on my bladder, I swear! Haha! This picture is from last week, but shows that belly off!

BUMPDATE:

CRAVINGS: All of the cheese!!

CHALLENGES:

*Acne-I am just doing my best to keep it under control.

*Back pain- with a growing belly, it is doing a number on my back. Thank goodness I have a great chiropractor.

*Snoring- I’m keeping my poor husband up lol!

*Bladder pressure

*Exhaustion

JOYS:

*Feeling her sweet little kicks

*Embracing the bump. How amazing that a little human is growing inside of me?!

*Eating a little extra and not feeling guilty haha!

FITNESS:

I’m feeling okay during my workouts! This week’s workouts:

*Cardio (not as much running anymore)

HUBS BDAY DINNER-Fish tacos from J Alexander’s. YUMMM!!!

For Brad’s birthday, I woke up early, got Starbucks and put balloons out (of course the cats had fun playing with them).

After work, his whole family and my mom came over and we all went to a nice dinner before coming to our house for cake.

He is so handsome!

Our Mini Michigan Vacation

Hey there, everyone! Last night, I returned from a 2 night lake vacation with my mom, my oldest brother, and his family. It was so much fun spending time with them, as I don’t see them near as often as I would like.

Here is the recap!

SUNDAY:

My mom and I got in around 2pm on Sunday and immediately put on swimsuits. We spent the rest of the day rafting, boating, swimming, and relaxing.

After spending the day on the water, we decided to go into town for dinner.

They had lines of decorative bikes. I loved this one.

We had dinner at a little sports bar and I had a veggie burger, veggies, and applesauce. I also finished my nephew’s curly fries.

After dinner, we got back and crashed pretty hard.

MONDAY:

We woke up and went on a jog/walk with the family. The views were so beautiful. There were stunning homes and golf courses surrounding the lake.

We decided to head into another town this day, but the drive was pretty long. We went into the cutest town for shopping, coffee, and lunch.

Calamari!

Terriaki chicken over a spicy slaw. It was delicious!

The coffee shop was adorable! I got a decaf almond milk latte.

After shopping, we went to lake Michigan which was so beautiful!

My oldest nephew!

We got back to the lake house around 6, made some dinner, had showers, then played Monopoly until bed time.

TUESDAY:

We went for another jog and enjoyed the beautiful views again. Afterwards, we went on a boat ride while my niece and nephews skied and tubed. Mid day, we headed home.

The drive was kind of long and it felt good to get home and relax!

Our Nashville Weekend

Hello and happy Easter, everyone!! Typically, I would spend mine at church, followed by family time, but this year is being spent in the car driving home. We did stop for a tasty brunch though!

We had such a great weekend in Nashville, visiting my cousin and exploring the city.

Here’s all we did:

FRIDAY:

We got to Nashville around 3 and got settled into our air bnb. It was a great place! We did a Kroger run, then came home and got ready to meet my cousin for dinner.

Pre dinner pics:

We went to dinner at a place called The Tavern, and it was delicious! We all split the buffalo cauliflower as an appetizer, and I had their kale and parmesan salad with salmon as my main meal. YUM!

After dinner, we all went back to the air bnb and played cards until bed.

SATURDAY:

We started the day early with a short treadmill workout at my cousin’s apartment gym.

After the gym, we got lattes and muffins from The Frothy Monkey. It was all so good!!

Next, we all showered at got ready for the day. Our first stop downtown was the Ryman Auditorium. We did the self guided tour and it was awesome.

By the time we finished, we were ready for lunch. We headed over Dierks Bentley’s new restaurant/bar called Whiskey Row and sat on the rooftop. It was a beautiful day! The place was packed.

Lunch was delicious!!! I had a turkey melt and grits (best I’ve ever had)!

After lunch, we went over to the Country Music Hall Of Fame and Museum. I loved it!!! I learned so much.

Our next stop was an adorable little place called Mockingbird. We all had their adult “juice boxes.” They were so cute and tasty!

By this time, we were all pretty tired and hungry again! We ordered pizza from Two Boots to take back to the air bnb. While we waited, we stopped by the huge wings mural for pictures.

We grabbed our pizzas, headed back to eat, drink, watch the final four games, and play more cards.

This pizza was called Earth Mother and it was super yummy!!

I crashed hard that night!

SUNDAY:

We woke up early and grabbed Starbucks and a snack before saying goodbye to my cousin. We packed up and headed out! We stopped for brunch at Cracker Barrel. It was great, as always!

We have about two hours left on our drive and I’m ready to get back to my kitties!!
