2018 Highlights And Pictures

Happy New Year, friends! I spent the evening eating ice cream, and watching a movie with my husband and kitties. We did not make it to midnight haha! 2018 was a great year for us, and we are excited to welcome our baby girl in 2019!!

Let’s recap this past year, shall we?

JANUARY:

We took a trip to Hocking Hills, stayed in a beautiful cabin, played games, and went hiking.

FEBRUARY:

We celebrated Valentine’s Day with a lovely ravioli dinner made by my hubby!

MARCH:

We celebrated my 29th birthday at Valley Vineyards with steak, salmon, wine, and family.

APRIL:

We visited my cousin in Nashville for Spring Break and had a blast!

MAY:

I had my procedure at the fertility clinic that would bring us the best news ever!

JUNE:

I had a positive pregnancy test and immediately called my husband because I couldn’t wait until he got home!

We saw Luke Bryan in concert with some friends!

We spent a week at the lake with my husband’s family where I experienced morning sickness for the first time.

JULY:

We spent a week enjoying the beach in North Carolina with my family!

AUGUST:

I went to Lake Michigan with my oldest brother and his family! It was fun spending time with my niece and nephews.

We had our gender reveal party!

SEPTEMBER:

We got to play bride and groom for a day! Our wedding photographer asked if we would do a photo shoot to help out a new venue! It was so fun.

OCTOBER:

We had our annual apple and pumpkin picking date.

NOVEMBER:

We celebrated my husband’s 30th birthday and took a trip to Chicago!

I had my baby shower!

I hit the third trimester on Thanksgiving Day.

DECEMBER:

I had baby shower #2.

We did some major baby prep, and celebrated Christmas with our families.

What a year it has been!

Fit/Foodie Friday, Plus A 31 Week Bumpdate

Hey there, friends! I am SO glad it’s Friday!! Plus, it is the last day of work until we get to enjoy a 2 week break. I think teachers love break more than the students haha.

Yesterday marked 31 weeks in my pregnancy, and I feel like this third trimester is flying by.

*My girl’s kicks have gotten stronger and mamma sure feels them constantly!

*I am still craving cheese of all kinds.

*I am in a constant tired state, but that is to be expected with 20 extra pounds and a growing human inside of me.

*My back is okay most days, which I will take!

*We are pretty much prepared for our little lady, just a few things to do that I am hoping to finish during break.

*I keep dreaming about her. I just can’t wait to hold her!!

Okay….now onto the weekly recap:

MONDAY:

After work, I did a quick prenatal barre workout before getting ready for an annual Christmas dinner with some girlfriends and our moms.

We met at Cheesecake Factory, exhanged gifts, and talked for a long time. It was so much fun!

My huge salad! I also had a ton of bread lol!

I crashed soon after coming home.

TUESDAY:

After work, I made it to the gym for 30 minutes on the lateral machine.

Dinner was broccoli and cheese stuffed chicken, vegetables, and a salad!

My husband and I rented Venom and watched it before bed.

WEDNESDAY:

I did a “bump at the barre” workout after work and it felt pretty good.

Dinner was a taco salad with coconut oil fried plantains!

THURSDAY:

After work I went to the gym for 30 minutes on the arc trainer.

Dinner was turkey meatloaf, brussel sprouts, and a sweet potato. It was so tasty!

We rented a movie, but I slept through most of it haha!

FRIDAY:

I am hoping to get a quick workout in after work before we head to my husband’s work Christmas party!

Weekend Wrap-Up (Food, Fitness, Family, And A Wedding)

Hello, all! We just got back from a wedding in Michigan and it is good to be home. It was a lot of fun, but boy am I tired! Bed time will come early tonight haha.

Anyway…let’s recap:

FRIDAY NIGHT:

Dinner was a turkey meatball sub and a salad kit. Yum!

We went to bed early because we had a big day ahead!

SATURDAY:

I woke up at 6 to do my hair, have some coffee, clean up, and get ready. We left our house at 8 for Michigan to celebrate our friend’s wedding!

We grabbed Starbucks for breakfast and ate on the road.

We grabbed a quick lunch when we got close to our hotel, checked in, ate super fast, changed, and made it to the church in time for the ceremony. The ceremony was quick, but lovely!

Dear friends and family together again!

The reception took place at our hotel, which was so convenient! We headed to cocktail hour at 5 and enjoyed snacks until the reception began.

Once we were seated, the wedding party arrived and did speeches before dinner. I had the vegetarian option of cheese ravioli.

After dinner, I had banana bread with a decaf coffee. Soooo good.

Dancing seemed to start late, so we all hung out and talked until it did.

They also had a photo booth which was super fun.

Later in the evening, they brought out late night food and snacks consisting of loaded fries, mini chili dogs, and donut holes with cider. Such a great idea!

The reception went until midnight and we chatted until close to 1 before heading to our room. We shared a room with Brad’s cousin and her two little girls (who decided not to sleep). Lots of crying = barely any sleep for us. Guess we have to get used to it! LOL!

SUNDAY:

I woke up pretty early, despite lack of sleep, and I was still exhausted. I had a coffee, then went into the workout room for a cardio session while everyone else was still sleeping.

After my workout and a shower, we had a huge breakfast put on by the bride and groom. It was delicious and I was so hungry!

Our friends own a local candy shop in town, so after breakfast we visited and gathered tons of goodies to bring home. Carmel apples, and tons of different chocolate items! We stocked up.

We headed home afterwards and I slept in the car most of the way. Oops! So much for offering to drive half of it haha!

I ran to Kroger and grabbed food for dinner. My husband cooked and it was delicious!

Steak, asparagus, mushrooms, onions, green beans, and a salad kit.

Now I am relaxing until bed!

Fit Friday And This Week Wrapped Up

Hey, all! I am finally feeling this baby growing like a weed. I have a belly for sure! It’s so cool, but now I’m running out of pants that fit.

I also got a UTI this week which has been MISERABLE. They are so painful! I haven’t had one in so long, but it’s been rough.

Working out has been different now that I’m getting bigger, but I’m trekking along.

MONDAY:

The day started well with an upper body workout class (modified to keep baby safe).

The work day was HOT. We had no AC and it was 90 degrees outside. Pregnancy and the heat do not mix.

Dinner was leftovers from our gender reveal party.

TUESDAY:

I woke up, taught and online class and did some cardio (arc trainer) before work.

After work, I started feeling my UTI come on. I should have gone to urgent care, but we had friends coming over and I had to cook.

Sliders, chicken, salad, and slaw! Yum!!

We had a great time, minus when I had to go get sick for a few minutes. Oh the joys of being pregnant! Lol!

WEDNESDAY:

I did not workout this day because I was tired and not feeling 100 percent.

I was able to spend the afternoon with my best friend who came to help me do my baby registry! We also had an early, delicious dinner at Northstar Cafe!

Best meal ever! Mago, peanut, and chicken salad with peanut lime dressing, rosemary bread, and fresh squeezed OJ.

It was a great time.

After dinner, my pain was getting worse so I went to urgent care. I was diagnosed with a UTI and put on antibiotics.

THURSDAY:

I taught an early class before doing a 30 minute cardio session.

The day was long, even after work. My kitty had a vet visit that went pretty late so we grabbed dinner on the way home.

A veggie pita and poppyseed slaw.

I fell asleep early!

FRIDAY:

I plan on doing a workout after work today and am picking up salmon and asparagus for dinner.

This Week In Review-Food, Fitness And Friends

Hello! I typically post on Friday, but I’ve had a busy week! First of all, I have to share another ultrasound picture because our baby is growing and moving like crazy.

I’m so beyond in love, I just can’t take it!

Okay…onto this past week!

MONDAY:

The day started with Starbucks and a 4 hour crisis prevention class for work. After the class, my work bestie and I went into our classroom to start getting it organized because school starts on Monday!

I was able to get a short cardio workout in later in the day.

Dinner was a PF Changs beef and broccoli kit over rice. Yummy!

TUESDAY:

I woke up early for a spinning class at the gym, followed by some online teaching.

After that, I drove to my home town to spend the day with my best friend. We went to Starbucks, then got pizza at my favorite local pizza place called Spinozas. I got a whole wheat crust with spicy sauce, spinach and peppers.

When I got home, I took a nap because getting up early and a long drive two ways wore me out.

My husband came home with flowers for me! He’s so sweet!

We had chicken legs for dinner and watched Bachelor in Paradise!

WEDNESDAY:

I woke up, taught, cleaned, the hit the gym for a short strength training session! Thank you, Youtube!

My best friend came into town to get her hair done, so we had lunch at Northstar Cafe and did some shopping. Yay for seeing her two days in a row!

I did laundry when I got home and caught up on some some shows.

I don’t think dinner was very exciting haha!

THURSDAY:

I started the day online teaching as usual!

I did a cardio workout, but the rest of the day was uneventful!

Dinner was stir fry over rice.

FRIDAY:

The day started with teaching, then I had an ultrasound which was so amazing!

Afterwards, I went into work to help my work bestie in the classroom. We are excited and slightly anxious for the year to start!

I did a VERY short jog early evening, but it was so muggy that I decided resting was better for my body.

My husband worked super late so I hung with the cats!

Anyway, my husband’s family is spending the weekend with us!
