A Fit Mamma Update

Hello, all!! I am currently nursing my little one and (hopefully) getting her down for a nap. Being back at work has been nice, but days with my sweetie are so precious to me. I can’t believe it is almost summer, and I will officially begin my journey as a stay at home mamma.

Anyway, the past week was absolutely exhausting. Teaching online, working full time, working out, taking care of the little one, and attempting to clean my house took its toll on me. Luckily, last night I got some extra sleep! Yay!! I started the morning with Starbucks and a family walk, too, which was perfect.

As far as food goes, we have been eating well!

Clearly I love my loaded salads lol!

Saturday night Chipotle, yum!

Despite being tired, I still get my workouts in!

The past week I did spinning, a gluteus maxout class, the elliptical, the treadmill, stairclimber, and lots of walks with baby K!

I am still navigating motherhood, but loving every minute with my sweet girl.

Now….let’s hope I can get the rest of my housework done before another work week begins!

Have a great one, all!

With love,

Carly

A Fit Mamma Update (Food, Workouts, And Mother’s Day)

Hello and happy Mother’s Day to all the mammas out there!

I went back to work this past week and it has felt like a whirlwind. I miss my girl so much when I am gone, but it is only 3 weeks until summer break. Yay!! I love knowing she is with her grandmas when I’m gone. My favorite part of the day is seeing her big smile when I get home. She also laughed for the first time and it was the absolute best thing ever!

Anyway… let’s catch up on food/fitness from the past week:

FOOD:

Tacos and a salad with fried plantains!

Stir fry over salad.

Beef, carrots, and sweet potatoes.

FITNESS:

*Elliptical

*Pure barre

*Treadmill

*Long stroller walks with baby K after work

*A gluteus maxout class

BABY UPDATE:

Guys, my sweet girl is 3 months old! She is so curious, is finally grasping toys, smiles all the time, and I can’t get enough of her.

MOTHER’S DAY:

I did a 5k with my mamma this morning, followed by Starbucks and carry out brunch from Northstar cafe.

My husband’s whole family came over after brunch and we ate a bunch, took a long walk, and played at the park.

My husband got me flowers, a spa day gift certificate (I get a massage, facial, and pedicure), and matching shirts for me and my girl. Her onesie says, “I’m a latte to handle.” Haha! It was a great day!

Now I am relaxing until Game of Thrones comes on.

I hope you all have a great week!

With love,

Carly

My Weekend Of Fast Cars And Fitness

Hello, all! How did your Monday treat you?

I went back to work today, and cried leaving my sweet girl this morning. The day flew by and I raced home, greeted with a huge smile. Ahhh I love her so much! I am so exhausted though.

Anyway…

This weekend was busy, but very nice. Here’s the recap:

FRIDAY NIGHT:

I had sausage and bean soup in the crockpot that we ate for dinner (after getting the baby down for bed).

We also rented a movie before bed.

SATURDAY:

The day started with coffee as always. I snuck out to do an upper body workout class at the gym.

It felt so good! After class and a quick lunch, I put the baby down for a nap and cleaned up the house. Afterwards, we all went to my husband’s shop while he worked on his racecar.

When we left, we did a quick grocery run before heading home. We put the baby down for bed, made some food, then rented the Ted Bundy movie on Netflix.

SUNDAY:

My husband’s shop puts on a big race each year, so he left super early to get there. It was rescheduled from last weekend due to the rain.

I got up and got the baby and myself ready before heading to church with some friends. After church, my girlfriend, little one, and myself headed to the track. It was a long day, but so fun watching my husband race.

I headed home around 5 to get the baby to bed by 7. She was overtired and it took me a while to get her down, but she slept great!

I read in bed until my husband got home.

Well, that’s all for this update. I hope to catch up on some blogs and get to bed early tonight. Have a great one!

With love,

Carly

Our Weekend (Food, Fitness, And Easter)

Well hey there, everyone! I am currently rocking my little one (who fights naps these days). How was your weekend? We had fun celebrating baby K’s first Easter with my husband’s family.

We were supposed to celebrate on Saturday with my family, but my sweet niece was hospitalized with RSV. We are praying that she is on the mend, but it was rough for a while. Please keep her in your thoughts and prayers.

Now….onto the weekend…

FRIDAY:

I was able to get in a HIIT workout while baby sat in her swing and watched me.

Dinner was buffalo ranch chicken sandwiches and broccoli with cheese.

SATURDAY:

The day started with coffee and family time before I headed to the gym for a strength class.

My workout felt great.

The rest of the day, my husband organized and I entertained baby.

Once I got her to bed we ordered Chinese and watched a movie.

We both dozed off because parent life is exhausting (but so wonderful).

SUNDAY:

We had a rough morning. Baby slept poorly and we had to get us all ready to head to my husband’s home town. The baby cried a lot and we had a rough time getting out the door, but the rest of the day went so well.

We met his parents for church, then had lunch at their house.

After lunch, we played with the dogs.

We then made our rounds to all the aunts and uncles houses to meet the baby! We headed home early evening. Baby K was exhausted and slept so well! So did her mamma!

It was a lovely Easter!

Now I’m off to try to get the little one down for a nap. Have a great week!

With love,

Carly

Our Family Filled Weekend And First Long(er) Trip With Baby

Hi, all! How was your weekend!? Ours was non-stop busy. Fun and wonderful, but exhausting! Baby girl and mamma are trying to recoup today.

Anyway….

FRIDAY NIGHT:

My husband’s family came over to spend time with us and baby. His sister has only seen her once before, so she enjoyed holding and loving on her.

Baby girl had a bath and early bed!

SATURDAY:

Guys….my baby turned 2 months old. I love watching her grow. She is taking shorter day time naps, but giving us long stretches at night! It is amazing getting sleep again lol. She is busy and needs entertained all day, so I am wiped out by bedtime! Our days are filled with reading, singing, walking, and playing with her toys.

My husband and father in law spent the whole day working in the yard, so me and this cutie took a long walk and did a baby wearing workout. She didn’t nap well, so mamma was going all day.

The guys grilled for us that evening and it was delicious.

I took baby to bed early, but she was extra fussy!

SUNDAY:

This little family of mine traveled to my hometown for a special day.

First, we met my mom for lunch, then visited my dad’s grave. It was so special to have my baby there with me.

I can’t wait to tell her stories of her grandpa. He would have loved her so much.

Next, we visited my grandma and she got to hold her youngest great grandbaby for the first time.

That amazing lady is 96 years old! Gosh, I love her!

Next up, we visited my best friend and her family. We had pizza and played with the kiddos. We left after dinner and headed home. We were all worn out by the time we got home! The little one fell asleep with no fuss because she was so exhausted. It was a great day!

I hope you enjoyed the update! Have a wonderful week!

With love,

Carly
