My Quarantined Birthday And A Baby Update

Hello, all!! This whole pandemic has been a whirlwind, and with a stay at home order, baby K and I have hunkered down. My husband and sister-in-law (who lives with us) are both considered essential, therefore are still working. My worries come in waves, but I am doing my best to stay calm, and enjoy time with my sweet baby.

Speaking of baby K, she has gained SO many new skills since her first birthday. She is pulling herself up on everything, and learned how to climb the stairs. There is no stopping her! She is chatty and now says “bye-bye” and “belly.” She knows her body parts and LOVES books. Her gym class has been doing Facebook live videos and we have been joining in! Watching her learn and grow is the greatest joy in my life.

Yesterday was my 31st birthday, and despite being in the middle of this crazy time, it was still very special!

My celebration started on Sunday with Starbucks of course! We had family time, and I took a bath during the baby’s nap.

Once she went to bed, my husband cooked a delicious dinner of salmon and vegetables. I also had a salad and my favorite wine!

My sweet husband made me brownies (which I got into before the picture haha). My sister-in-law got me wine and ice cream!

After dinner, we played a few games of Clue, then watched The Greatest Showman because I love that movie!

Monday was my actual birthday and baby K and I had fun at home! My mom sent me pretty flowers, and ordered me and baby lunch from my favorite place (Northstar Cafe). Curbside delivery for the win. I had the Thai burrito with broccoli and peanut sauce. YUM!

She also got me a tablet!! I LOVE IT! I definitely have the greatest mom!!!

My husband and in-laws got me a Shark vacuum and it is amazing! I have been wanting one for SO long. I cleaned the house during baby’s nap and enjoyed every second of it haha.

After dinner, we facetimed my mom, brother, and sister-in-law to play trivia. Even though we couldn’t be together in person, this was a perfect way to spend time with each other. We all had to come up with categories and mine was Friends (the TV show). We had a lot of fun!!

I also had my brownies and ice cream before bed. It was a great birthday!

Fit Friday And Other Favorites-Home Edition

Hi, all!! Pretty much everything is closed around here, so the baby and I are bound to the house. The weather is beautiful today, so we have been able to get outside some. That has been SO helpful. Every time I get sad, I just look at what I have, and remind myself just how blessed I am.

On that note, let’s talk some favorites from the week!

FOOD:

Whole grain crust pizza and carrot fries. This was absolutely delicious!!

Chipotle by the fireplace.

Hash with ham, sweet potatoes peppers, onions, and lots of seasoning! Yum!

FITNESS:

Since I have to workout soley at home, I have been trying to mix things up. I have been able to get out for two runs with the baby and it felt amazing.

I have also done hiit videos, barre, and the elliptical!

FAMILY AND FACETIME:

I can’t get over how much my little girl brings me life. She makes this whole situation easier for me because she is so happy and wonderful! She had so much fun driving her car around this morning.

My husband is beyond amazing, too! He is always a voice of reason and calmness.

Facetime has been so important for us! The baby and I facetime my mom and mother-in-law just about every day!

My birthday is Monday and since my mom can’t visit, at least we get to talk all the time!

OTHERS:

*Even though we can’t get too close to people, it is so nice to see our neighbors outside. Smiles and waves are good for the soul.

*My favorite snack lately: Perfect Bar. These are SO good and filling!

*Book: I randomly stumbled upon a book called Regretting You while searching for another one. It has been so captivating and I have been staying up way to late to read it! Haha.

This weekend, I hope to do a little home celebrating with my little family since I am turning 31!

Let’s Have A Coffee Date Catch-Up (Family, Food, Fitness, And Sickness)

Hello, all! Gosh I feel like I haven’t written in so long. Things have been crazy around here. Typically, I would be working out right now, but I decided to put it off until later so that I could sit in the quiet and sip on a large cup of coffee.

As I drink my Starbucks blend coffee with vanilla soy and you grab whatever you enjoy, I will fill you in on life lately.

FAMILY TIME:

Last weekend we had a lot of time with just our little family, and loved every second of it. The weather was so nice!

We went to the zoo and the baby had a blast pointing to, and reaching for the animals! She especially loved the aquarium!

My husband and I had a great evening that night after the baby went to bed. We made a big meal together, then rented Ford Vs. Ferrari (which was SO good by the way).

This week, before sickness hit our family, baby K and I got to the park. She was laughing so hard on the swings! It was the cutest thing ever. The pure look of joy on her face just melts me.

SICKNESS:

This family has been hit with some nasty colds. The baby got it first, but is finally starting to improve. Now my husband and sister-in-law are sick.

As far as myself, I haven’t gotten it yet, but am cleaning and disinfecting like crazy.

FITNESS:

With the weather getting nicer, we are getting out for walks and runs! It has been wonderful.

I have also been able to get to the gym for some classes including:

*RINGSIDE- a boxing inspired workout with weights. It kicks my behind!!

*Upper Body RX

*Spinning

I also am continuing Barre and the Elliptical at home!

FOOD:

My husband and I made a delicious skillet meal with chicken sausage, mushrooms, onions, sweet potatoes, and lots of seasoning! It was so good!!

Shrimp pasta and vegetables!

We’ve also grilled out some!

OTHER:

I am not sure what the weekend will bring. I am just praying that the sickness leaves this house, and we get some much needed rest!

This post ended up taking me until baby K’s bedtime, so that’s all for this update. I am looking forward to catching up on all of your posts!

Valentine’s Day and Baby’s “Sweet One” Birthday Party

Hello, all! Another weekend flew by. Ours was busy, but wonderful and full of love.

FRIDAY NIGHT: Valentine’s Day

My husband and I had a rare date night! We wanted to do dinner and a movie, but all the movies were sold out. We ended up just doing dinner and taking our time. We went to Northstar Cafe, and enjoyed eating and catching up. We had a wonderful time together!

I had a delicious margarita and the Thai burrito with broccoli and peanut sauce.

We need to have dates more often. I had missed this!

When we got home, we watched Dateline NBC with my mom and nephew (aka the awesome babysitters)!

SATURDAY: PARTY DAY

I got up early and had some coffee with my mom. She did some last minute errands for the party, and I cashed in my Valentine’s present (a blowout for my hair)!

After baby’s morning nap, we all got ready and headed to Peapod Play Cafe for her party! The theme was “Sweet One.” The cafe was a perfect place for adults and littles. They have a huge, safe play area for the kids, and the cafe area is great, too!

For food, we had pizza, mac cheese, fruit, salad, and Duck Donuts. I thought we would have too much, but almost everything was eaten! Our turn out was fantastic, and baby K had so many friends to play with.

Baby K had a donut outfit that said “Whatever sprinkles your donuts.” Brad and I had “Donut Squad” shirts!

After the party, we came home and let her open gifts before her nap!

The rest of the day was spent with family. My sister-in-law moved in with us, as she got a job where we live and needs a place to stay until she gets an apartment.

I fell asleep early on the couch. The day was great, but exhausting!

HUGE shoutout to my mom for all of her help with the party. I couldn’t have pulled it off without her.

SUNDAY:

The day started with coffee and play time with baby K.

My husband did tons of organizing, which we have been needing to do for so long!

I was able to get to the gym for a full body lifting workout, and to the grocery store to stock up for the week.

Dinner was so good! My mom bought us tons of chicken sausages, so we decided to make a skillet meal using them, peppers, mushrooms, sweet potatoes, and lots of seasoning.

I went into the bedroom early and watched TV in bed.

This week, I need to clean, organize clothes, and work on baby K’s baby book.

Let’s Have A Coffee Date

Hello, everyone!! I have been away from here for a while, so it’s time to grab a coffee, and give out an update from when I last posted.

1) SICKNESS:

After my sweet baby started getting better, this mamma got pretty sick. I typically try to stay away from too much medication, but Theraflu tea was my best friend for a while.

I also picked up Fire Cider, diffused essential oils, and used Zicam nasal swabs. I love homeopathic remedies!

I am finally 100 percent better!

2) BABY:

She is completely off of her antibiotics, and is completely back to being my silly, happy baby! We are excited to head back to Bugs class this upcoming week.

She turned 11 months, and we just sent out invitations for her first birthday party. Ahhh time is flying!

This cutie has a 3rd tooth popping in, and it is bugging her like crazy. She tries to eat mom and dad, books, and sometimes the cats haha.

3) WORKOUTS:

I got a few good workouts in on the days I felt okay!

This picture is from an upper body workout class that I love! It hits each upper body part with cardio drills in between.

Ringside is another favorite of mine. It is boxing, lifing, and cardio all in one.

At home, I did some HIIT workouts, the elliptical, and barre videos.

FOOD:

We’ve been eating very well lately!

Here are just a few favorites…

Chipotle….it never disappoints.

My husband made us steak the other night. With mine, I had a sweet potato and a salad.

Salmon, rice, and vegetables.

FAMILY:

*My mother-in-law and sister-in-law came over on Monday for the Bachelor premiere! I love the show, and it has always been a guilty pleasure of mine.

*January 7th marked 8 years since my dad passed away. I miss him so very much. He was seriously the best, and I wish every day that he could be here and get to see me as a mom.

This has always been a favorite picture of my parents. Aren’t they adorable?

*January 9th was my mom’s birthday, and I was able to spend it with her! We had planned on going and doing something fun, but unfortunately I was too sick. Baby K loved having grandma over.

We ended up getting carry out for dinner and hanging out at my house.

OTHER:

I got my haircut today! I went a little shorter and absolutely love it.
