Valentine’s Day and Baby’s “Sweet One” Birthday Party

Hello, all! Another weekend flew by. Ours was busy, but wonderful and full of love.

FRIDAY NIGHT: Valentine’s Day

My husband and I had a rare date night! We wanted to do dinner and a movie, but all the movies were sold out. We ended up just doing dinner and taking our time. We went to Northstar Cafe, and enjoyed eating and catching up. We had a wonderful time together!

I had a delicious margarita and the Thai burrito with broccoli and peanut sauce.

We need to have dates more often. I had missed this!

When we got home, we watched Dateline NBC with my mom and nephew (aka the awesome babysitters)!

SATURDAY: PARTY DAY

I got up early and had some coffee with my mom. She did some last minute errands for the party, and I cashed in my Valentine’s present (a blowout for my hair)!

After baby’s morning nap, we all got ready and headed to Peapod Play Cafe for her party! The theme was “Sweet One.” The cafe was a perfect place for adults and littles. They have a huge, safe play area for the kids, and the cafe area is great, too!

For food, we had pizza, mac cheese, fruit, salad, and Duck Donuts. I thought we would have too much, but almost everything was eaten! Our turn out was fantastic, and baby K had so many friends to play with.

Baby K had a donut outfit that said “Whatever sprinkles your donuts.” Brad and I had “Donut Squad” shirts!

After the party, we came home and let her open gifts before her nap!

The rest of the day was spent with family. My sister-in-law moved in with us, as she got a job where we live and needs a place to stay until she gets an apartment.

I fell asleep early on the couch. The day was great, but exhausting!

HUGE shoutout to my mom for all of her help with the party. I couldn’t have pulled it off without her.

SUNDAY:

The day started with coffee and play time with baby K.

My husband did tons of organizing, which we have been needing to do for so long!

I was able to get to the gym for a full body lifting workout, and to the grocery store to stock up for the week.

Dinner was so good! My mom bought us tons of chicken sausages, so we decided to make a skillet meal using them, peppers, mushrooms, sweet potatoes, and lots of seasoning.

I went into the bedroom early and watched TV in bed.

This week, I need to clean, organize clothes, and work on baby K’s baby book.

Food, Fitness, Date Night, And A Baby Play Date

Hello and happy weekend, all! This is my third attempt to write this, because in true mother fashion, I have a constant (yet adorable) distraction.

We have had a great week! My husband and I were able to celebrate our anniversary (it will be 4 years on Halloween), and baby K and I had our first play date!

FOOD FAVORITES THIS WEEK:

Soybean Spaghetti and Meat Sauce.

Thai Coconut Chicken and Brown Rice.

DATE NIGHT: Northstar Cafe.

I had the most delicious salad and a sparkling wine. It was so yummy!!

After dinner, we saw Zombieland 2. It was really funny! My husband and I had a great time just hanging out and catching up. My mom was nice enough to babysit!

FITNESS THIS WEEK:

*3 mile outside run

*Fitness Blender Spartan 500 workout (on YouTube)

*Barre Class

*Spinning

PLAY DATE:

Baby K and I instantly hit it off with a mom and her little one at Bugs class. He is only 2 days younger than baby K! She asked us to come over and carve pumkins. We had a great time!

The babies were precious in the pumpkins haha!

Self-Care Sunday (A Weekend Of Dates, A Spa Day, A Wedding, Food, And Fitness)

Hello, everyone! Well, the weekend is coming to an end, and I hope you all had a great one. I have had a lovely weekend, and spent some time to myself, time with my husband, friends, and sweet baby. As a mom, I tend to spend all day focusing on my family and forget to relax and take care of myself. I am so glad I was able to center myself a bit.

Let’s recap, shall we??

FRIDAY NIGHT:

After I got the baby down and ate a quick bite to eat, my husband and I were able to have a date night to the movies! My mother-in-law and I had plans the next day, so she stayed at our house and kept an eye on the monitor.

It was fun to get pop and popcorn while sitting in reclining chairs, and just relax together. It has been so long and we had so much fun! We saw Toy Story 4 because I just adore those movies, and it did not disappoint.

SATURDAY:

I finally got to cash in my Mother’s Day present from my husband. My mother-in-law, sister-in-law, and I all went to Woodhouse Day Spa for a spa day. My mom was supposed to come, but unfortunately had to go to a funeral. I missed her!

I picked up Starbucks and brought it to the spa! They put us in the “quiet room” after getting our robes on. It had drinks and snacks!

We chatted while we waited for our services to start. I started with a swedish massage and it was so relaxing.

Afterwards, we met back in the room before our next service. I was called for my facial and it was so amazing! I had never had one, but oh my gosh it felt so good. They even massaged my neck, shoulders, arms and hands. My face felt so fresh afterwards.

Next up, we got our pedicures. I chose a pink since it is summer. We got a warm neck wrap and sat in massage chairs. It was perfect.

We ended our spa day back in the quiet room.

We left feeling amazing!

When I got home, I scooped my sweet baby up because I miss her every time I’m not home haha.

My husband and I had lunch, then fed and bathed the baby. She is splashing and playing so much in the tub now. It is hilarious and precious!

Once we got her down for a nap, I started getting ready because we had a wedding that evening.

My mom came to babysit, and we left around 4:30. It was a gorgeous day for a wedding!!

The ceremony was beautiful and they wrote their own vows. So sweet!!

After the ceremony, we had drinks and appetizers. They were super tasty!

Dinner was family style and it all was great! They had short ribs, chicken, vegetables, potatoes and salad!

We danced (especially my work bestie and I), drank, and just had fun being out for the night.

We got home around 10:45 and went to bed. Well, I layed in bed, but was up half the night because I had pop with caffeine at the wedding. Ughhh! It was so annoying!!

SUNDAY:

My mom got us Starbucks in the morning while I pumped.

We relaxed a bit, then went to the grocery store.

My mom left after shopping, and I went out for a 3 mile run. I was tired and it was hot, but I’m glad I did it!

The rest of the day was spent playing with my girl until she went down for bed.

We are now catching up on Masterchef and hopefully getting a good night of sleep!

Fit Friday-Mom Edition #5 And A Life Update

Hey there, everyone! I hope the week treated you well. I am going back to work on Monday after 12 weeks of being home with my sweet girl. It will be hard to be away from her, but there is only 4 weeks left until summer break. I am staying home with baby next year and feel so blessed that I am able to do so.

Anyway…we have had a great week! Let’s recap, shall we?

MONDAY:

My mom came over to babysit so my husband and I could have a date night. She came over early and let me sneak off to the gym first! I did a 30 minute hiit workout on the treadmill.

I came home and got ready for date night. My husband and I went to bibibop for dinner, then saw Avengers End Game.

Dinner was delicious and we both loved the movie.

TUESDAY:

The day started with online teaching and coffee. I did a pure barre workout video at home and it left me so sore!

The day consisted of housework until it was time for baby to have a bath.

Dinner was amazing. I made a kielbasa and sweet potato hash! Yum!!

WEDNESDAY:

I put baby in her mammaroo while I did a fitness blender workout video. It was quick and sweaty!

I took baby K to meet all of my work friends that day! It was so fun to show her off.

For dinner, I made buffalo ranch chicken in the crockpot. I had mine on an English muffin!

THURSDAY:

My mom came over to spend time with us. She watched baby K while I went to a tabata class at the gym. It was so fun.

When I got home, my mom and I took the little one on a stroller walk. I love having her to walk with!

For dinner, we got Northstar Cafe and it did not disappoint!

FRIDAY:

I taught online this morning before having coffee with my husband. When he left for work, I got the baby down for a nap and started organizing!

When baby woke up, we played, then she sat in her swing while I did the elliptical.

I have sausage and bean soup in the crockpot for dinner.

Now…off to relax a bit before the little one wakes up!

My 30th Birthday Weekend

Hi and happy Monday, all! This mamma is exhausted, as my little one is going through her first developmental leap (check out the Wonder Weeks if you have no idea what I mean). She has been extra fussy and wants to be held or nursed constantly. She is finally down for a nap so I have a few minutes to write!

Anyway….

I turned 30 on Saturday, which seems crazy. I remember how old that sounded when I was younger haha. Here is the weekend reacap!

FRIDAY NIGHT:

My husband brought home Chinese and I ate while nursing the little one because she always wants to eat when I do LOL. My multitasking skills have become legit since becoming a mom.

SATURDAY (MY BIRTHDAY):

My husband picked up Starbucks for us in the morning and I enjoyed my coffee so much. I did an elliptical workout (once again interrupted by my hungry daughter).

Afterwards, I showered quickly then headed to the salon to get Highlights and a trim. I was able to meet up with my best friend for a few minutes, then met my mom for lunch. We got salad bowls and a parmesan breadstick. Yum!

After lunch, I came home and got ready for date night with my husband! My mom was nice enough to babysit. We took a few family pictures before we left, but Kennedy wasn’t amused lol!

The hubs and I headed to Coopershawk winery and had some wine (YUM) before heading to Sur La Table for a cooking class: “Date Night: Springtime In Paris.” It was a blast!! We were paired with another couple and had so much fun cooking and learning new skills together. After prepping and cooking, we got to enjoy our tasty meal!

We went to bed shortly after getting home.

SUNDAY:

I spent time with my mom and little one before my mom headed home.

Later, my husband and I took the baby for a walk since the weather was mild and we wanted to get her outside!

The rest of the day was more family time.

Needless to say, I had such a wonderful weekend.
