*Baby kicks like CRAZY…and her kicks are hard lol!

*I have been craving sweets….mostly chocolate and peanut butter

*It is hard to bend over, shave, roll in bed, etc.

*First trimester symptoms are creeping back in: nausea and extreme exhaustion

*I have to get up to pee constantly…my bladder must be a trampoline lol!

*My body feels okay overall

*I’m starting to nest! I can’t wait to hold her!!!

Okay….now onto this week’s recap…

MONDAY-NEW YEAR’S EVE:

I woke up and picked up Starbucks because my best friend was coming to visit! She came over and we drank our coffees while watching Sex and the City and chatting. It was sooooo nice.

She had a surprise for me from her husband, which was so sweet I wanted to cry. He got me a gift certificate for a pedicure at the best spa in town, plus he treated us to lunch at J. Alexanders. He is so kind!

Lunch was fantastic!

After lunch, we did some shopping before she headed home.

That evening, my husband and I picked up ice cream and ate it while watching the Avengers! We made it until about 11 before heading to bed.

TUESDAY: NEW YEAR’S DAY:

The hubs had the day off, so we slept in, then had coffee!

I worked out at home, doing a barre video and a little cardio on my new elliptical! Yes, we had the fireplace on because our house was cold lol!

I did some cleaning and class prep. We also took down our Christmas decorations. Dinner was a vegan frozen pizza and a salad.

WEDNESDAY:

I woke up, taught a few online classes, then did a workout on my elliptical.

After lunch, I did a little cleaning before heading to get a blowout. My husband and I had our maternity pictures that day and had so much fun!! I can’t wait to share them.

Before heading home, I ran to the post office to pick up a package from https://girlwiththepawprinttattoo.wordpress.com She had a giveaway that I won!

It was like opening another Christmas present! I love my goodies!!!!

Ready for pictures.

After our pictures, we had steak for dinner. It was delicious!

THURSDAY:

I woke up, taught online, then did a quick elliptical workout while listening to a podcast.

After a shower, I headed to a prenatal massage (thanks to my hubby)!!! It was so relaxing and I enjoyed every second of it!

I had lunch at a market nearby before heading home.

When I got home I cleaned, then spent the evening relaxing.

The cats were cozy, too! Haha!!

When my husband came home, we had brats and sweet potatoes for dinner.

I fell asleep on the couch.

FRIDAY:

We slept in this morning….well until 7….lol. We have a dr appointment at 10, then I plan on working out and cleaning. My best friend is coming back into town this evening so we can get our pedicures and have dinner together!

My mom is coming to visit and celebrate her birthday this weekend and help me sort more baby clothes!

I have enjoyed winter break so much, but it is back to thd grind on Monday!

I hope you all have a great weekend!

With love,

Carly

Our Chicago Getaway

Hello, everyone! I hope you are having a lovely weekend. We are driving home from our mini vacation to Chicago. It was a blast! It was a perfect way to celebrate Brad’s 30th birthday, our anniversary, and our “babymoon.” Let’s jump right in…

FRIDAY:

We left home around 8am and made the 6 hour drive to Chicago. We arrived at our Airbnb around 2:30 ish, unpacked and settled in.

We changed, called an uber, then headed into the city.

Our first stop was the bean to get some pictures!

It started getting a little dark, so we walked over to the Chicago theater to see it all lit up. It was so pretty!!

The evening was absolutely freezing, so we decided on an early dinner at Giordano’s! We got salads and pizzas. Everything was super yummy!

After dinner, we ubered back to our Airbnb, watched a movie, then crashed hard!

SATURDAY:

I woke up before my husband, so I did a short pregnancy workout video. When he woke up, we walked (in the 19 degree weather) to Starbucks for coffee and breakfast.

After breakfast, we got ready for the day and ubered into the city. We walked around until it was time for our first activity!

At noon, we did the Chicago Theater Tour and it was absolutely fantastic! We loved learning the history and not to mention, I adore the theater!

I was like a kid in a candy store Haha!

After the tour, we stopped at a food truck for lunch and ate in the sunshine. Chicago style hot dogs are no joke! YUM!!!

After lunch, we headed to the field museum. It was huge and there was so much to see! We loved the dinosaur exhibit, and also ancient Egypt.

After the museum, we walked a bunch more and saw the bean at night, along with other cool parts of the city.

Our next stop was the John Hancock building! We did Chicago 360, which takes you super high to see some beautiful views. I’m so glad we went at night! There was a wait for this and I was getting nauseous, but felt better once we got to the top.

Afterwards, we were both wiped out from walking all day so we headed to dinner at Gino’s East. I needed water and to just sit. It felt amazing to relax. I wasn’t in the mood for pizza again so I got minestrone soup and a delicious salad with grilled chicken, candied walnuts, cranberries, radishes, cheese chunks, and their delicious house dressing.

After dinner, we ubered back to the Airbnb and both crashed quickly. My total steps on my Fitbit was almost 25,000 for the day! Crazy!!

SUNDAY:

This morning, we packed up early, grabbed Starbucks, and started the trip home. I can’t wait to see my kitties!!

I hope you enjoy the rest of your Sunday, everyone!

With love,

Carly

Let’s Have A Mid-Week Coffee Date

Happy hump day, folks! How is the week treating you so far? Let’s catch up with a coffee date!

I would be having a coffee with soy milk!

I might be all over the place so here goes…

1) First of all, I have to share that I am so excited to see my mom tonight!! She has been gone for a couple of weeks on a cruise. I’m glad she’s home!

Isn’t she adorable?

She sent me a picture of Starbucks in Mexico!

2) Next, I would fill you in on my first fertility appointment and share my nervousness for my test tomorrow. I love the doctor! He is on top of things and I feel confident that he will help us figure out what is going on. We are still doing tests, so hopefully we get some answers soon!!

3) I would also share that I am stressing a little about some life decisions. I’ve been praying a lot and trying to stay positive! I am very excited about my online teaching job, and am teaching my first class tomorrow!

4) I would tell you that I am pumped for my upcoming vacations! Whooo!!! 2 lake trips and 1 beach trip. Hurry up summer!

5) I would ask how you are doing? Please share something with me!

Have a great rest of your day!

Let’s Have A Saturday Coffee Date

Hello all you wonderful people! How is your weekend treating you so far? I am currently cuddled up with my kitties and drinking coffee. I always see people do the post “If We Were Having Coffee…” and I wanted to do my own version!

So…onto our coffee date!

  1. First, I would ask, “How are you doing?” Listening is just as important as sharing, and I consider myself an excellent listener.
  2. Next, I would tell you that it is almost my birthday! I am turning 29 on March 23rd. I am not 100 percent at the place I thought my life would be, but I am pretty darn lucky. I mean would you just look at this handsome guy I get to be married to! FB_IMG_1520688020538.jpg
  3. I want to share that I am struggling with where I am going in my career. I am considering going back to school, but for some reason the thought scares me a bit. I graduated college years ago, but since I want more out of life, I know it would be a good decision to get back at it. Ahhh!!
  4. I would tell you that my journey with pregnancy isn’t all I thought it would be. It has been hard, and filled with tears and MANY negative pregnancy tests. I never thought it would be this way, full of medicine and constant blood draws, but I will say that it is part of my journey, and I am learning to accept that.
  5. I would share a new friend with you!!! Blogging has become a passion of mine, and we should all lift each other up. I met a new friend, Elle, over at http://labeaute.org/ and her blog is seriously awesome. I have been going through her posts and I just love what she is about.

Just look at what her about me says…

“LaBeaute.org is your daily dose of all things beautiful. Not just in fashion and beauty, but it’s all about the beautiful things in life. My true passion is inspiring and empowering women, so by creating this blog, I hope to give as much inspiration and motivation to other women out there seeking confidence in life.”

We just celebrated International Women’s Day, and I hope to continue lifting my fellow bloggers up! Here are a few of my favorite posts:

I hope you check her out!

6. I would definitely share some of my healthy chocolate peanut butter protein cookies with you, especially because they go amazing with coffee. I made them fresh this morning, and had a yogurt and nuts to go along with breakfast!

7. Last, I would give you a big hug (because I’m a hugger) and say goodbye!

Have an amazing rest of your weekend!

Fit Friday-This Week In Food And Fitness, Plus A Coffee Story

Hello and happy Friday, guys! I hope your week treated you well. Mine was long, and I am so ready for a relaxing weekend. Before I get to my weekly recap, I want to share a little coffee story.

My last two trips to Starbucks I have received a larger size than I ordered (not complaining at all). Haha! Anyway, the barista felt so bad that my next order is free. Heck yeah!! Can’t beat free coffee. This small gesture made my morning a little better.

Now, onto my weekly food and fitness recap.

SUNDAY EVENING:

Dinner Sunday night was so tasty! I had a chicken melt and a ceasar salad.

MONDAY:

I decided to workout after work and went to a class called the C9 challenge. It is a full body, intense workout. It was hard and kicked my tired butt! Haha!

Dinner was stir fry and it was delicious! I buy stir fry kits from Kroger (they have a variety of flavors) and add chicken. Yum!

TUESDAY:

I started the morning with a 45 minute spin class. I love spinning for my cardio!

My mom came over for dinner and I made beef and minestrone soup with cornbread muffins. I use the Bear Creek soup mix and add lean ground beef.

Of course I topped mine with cheese! This mix makes a lot and we had plenty of leftovers.

WEDNESDAY:

I started the morning with a TCX (total conditioning extreme) class. It was the last one before they take it off of the schedule, which is a huge bummer! It is such a good workout and always leaves me sore for days following.

Dinner was healthy pizza (made with Kodiak Cakes Pancake Mix and plain greek yogurt), topped with mozzarella cheese and turkey pepperonis, plus a salad!

THURSDAY:

After work, I went to the gym for a 3 mile treadmill workout. I mix up my pace, going from walking-jogging-running. It helps pass the time! Our treadmills have tv’s, so I watched Ellen. By the time I was finished, I was ready to get home and relax.

For dinner, we made chicken legs in the air fryer, plus coconut oil fried plantain! The air fryer makes the BEST chicken. It always comes out so tender.

After dinner, we caught up on our shows before bed.

FRIDAY:

I woke up early to go to the gym for a gluteus maxout class. It was SO cold this morning and it was hard to motivate myself to go, but I’m so glad I did! Class was packed (as always) and it was a good one. I love leg day!

Tonight, my husband and I have plans with some friends to get dinner, then help them get some things together in their new home. The rest of the weekend will be filled with house projects and some relaxing.

Have a wonderful weekend!

With love,

Carly
