Foodie Friday-Favorite Eats Lately, Plus A Life Update

Hello and happy Friday!! I hope the week treated you well. My sweet girl turned 2 on Tuesday and we had fun celebrating her. My husband came home mid-day from work so we could sing and open presents. When he headed back to work, my mom, mother-in-law, and I took K to lunch. It was so fun!

We also had her 2 year checkup this week. She is doing great, but is behind in speech. We are being referred to speech therapy and that makes me so happy!♡

Other updates:

WATCHING:

*The Vanishing at Cecil Hotel-oh my goodness! Is anyone else watching this??? So creepy!!

*The Bachelor-this has always been a favorite of mine!

*Hell’s Kitchen-I just love Gordon Ramsey.

EXCITED ABOUT:

*I am longing for spring and warmer weather! I can’t wait until we spend our days outside in the sunshine.

*VACATIONS:

*We have 2 planned: one is at Gun Lake in Michigan this summer, and one in North Carolina in Fall. Two of my favorite places!!

WORKOUTS:

*I tend to use my loop bands the most out of anything! It is awesome how I get so sore from them. I also take advantage of my large basement to run around for cardio.

FOOD:

Now onto all of the tasy things we’ve been eating….

Chinese takeout!
Potatoes, mixed veggies, chicken sausage, garlic, and lots of seasonings. I put mine over cauliflower rice! Soooo yummy!
2 of my girlfriends came over and we snacked on this plus had some wine! We had so much fun.
Okay so this was amazing!! It is a Reeses Cup smoothie from a place called Power Fuel Nutrition. Yum!!!

Some other favorites lately include pork chops, edamame spaghetti, and deer steaks!

Fit Friday-Mom Edition (Plus A Life Catch-Up)

Hello and happy Friday, all! I am currently drinking my nitro cold brew from Starbucks and relaxing while my daughter naps. Now that our house is sold, things have settled down a bit, and we have had more time to relax and enjoy life.

WHAT WE HAVE BEEN UP TO:

Family beach day! K had a ball, and my husband took us out on the jetskis.

I went to Coopershawk winery with one of my best friends and we each got a flight. It was so fun relaxing. I always love catching up with her!

My mother-in-law and I took K to the zoo and we had a great time!

My husband and I had an at home date night! He cooked dinner, then we played board games. It was so fun!

My mom is here today and we are going to take K to the park.

FITNESS:

I have been missing the gym quite a bit lately, but am doing my best to switch up my workouts and have fun doing them at home.

*Stroller barre and runs

*YouTube videos (my favorite is FitnessBlender and Gymra)

*Full body kettlebell workouts

*Yoga (I have been trying to do this more because it feels SO good, plus it helps a lot with my anxiety)

FOOD:

Acai bowl! Yum!!!

I went to my soon to be sister-in-law’s bridal shower and it was at a local pizza place. They had the tastiest cauliflower crust pizza!!!

Garlic chicken and noodles.

Salmon, sweet potato fries, and a kale salad kit! My husband made this for us! Delicious!!!

Food, Fitness, Family, And Friends

Hello, all! Happy weekend! We have had a lovely week. We are finally expanding our circle, and seeing more friends and family. I didn’t realize how much I had missed everyone until we got together. It is filling my heart, and K loves seeing her buddies again!


K has had so much energy lately, runs all around, and keeps me busy. She has a big, silly, fun personality, and I can’t get enough of her. I could gush over her forever! Lol!!

As far as fitness goes, I have been enjoying my at-home workouts!
This week:
*Barre
*Stroller runs
*Elliptical
*Kettlebells, bands, and bodyweight excercises
*Stair runs

FOOD FAVORITES:

Chinese takeout! I love the healthy options!
My mom and I grabbed lunch at Zupas Cafe! I had a mango salad, veggie soup, bread, and a chocolate covered strawberry! Yum!
Chicken sausage skillet. It has apple chicken sausage, sweet potatoes, peppers, onions, and lots of tasty seasonings! I put it over brown rice! So good!!
Northstar Cafe with my mom and K! I had a ham and cheese scone, a salad, and a fresh squeezed “shooting star.” Absolutely delicious!!!
Yet another Northstar meal! My cousins and their girls were over today, and this was the first time they had it. I got the sweet basil burrito with a side of peanut slaw as well.
I made pumpkin muffins this week and they were gone SO quickly!! I like to top mine with some chocolate chips and almond butter.
This weekend will be full of cleaning and enjoying family time! I hope yours is wonderful as well!

Sunny Day Workouts And A Weekend Update

Hello, all! I am in a swimsuit for the first time this year, enjoying a beautiful, sunny day! I got a high wasted suit last year from Amazon and love it. The rest of the week is supposed to be rainy, so I am enjoying being outside as much as possible.

SATURDAY was sunny and beautiful, too. We spent the day outside watering flowers, taking walks, working out, and waving to neighbors.

My husband did yard work the whole day. He is the best!

The day ended with City BBQ and finshing Outer Banks on Netflix!

SUNDAY was chilly and rainy, so we played inside, and I deep cleaned the house during K’s naps. Dinner was chickpea pasta with meat sauce. After dinner, we watched 17 Again. That is such a cute movie!

As far as WORKOUTS go, I did mine outdoors Saturday and today, while resting on Sunday.

On Saturday, I used bands, kettlebells, and stairs to do a circuit workout. It was fun, and being outside is so motivating!

Today, I did a few full body excercises with the bands, then K and I headed outside for a stroller hill and barre workout. It felt amazing, and the weather was PERFECT!

These nice days are making me so happy, and I am looking forward to steady warm weather.

Fit Friday And Other Favorites-Home Edition

Hi, all!! Pretty much everything is closed around here, so the baby and I are bound to the house. The weather is beautiful today, so we have been able to get outside some. That has been SO helpful. Every time I get sad, I just look at what I have, and remind myself just how blessed I am.

On that note, let’s talk some favorites from the week!

FOOD:

Whole grain crust pizza and carrot fries. This was absolutely delicious!!

Chipotle by the fireplace.

Hash with ham, sweet potatoes peppers, onions, and lots of seasoning! Yum!

FITNESS:

Since I have to workout soley at home, I have been trying to mix things up. I have been able to get out for two runs with the baby and it felt amazing.

I have also done hiit videos, barre, and the elliptical!

FAMILY AND FACETIME:

I can’t get over how much my little girl brings me life. She makes this whole situation easier for me because she is so happy and wonderful! She had so much fun driving her car around this morning.

My husband is beyond amazing, too! He is always a voice of reason and calmness.

Facetime has been so important for us! The baby and I facetime my mom and mother-in-law just about every day!

My birthday is Monday and since my mom can’t visit, at least we get to talk all the time!

OTHERS:

*Even though we can’t get too close to people, it is so nice to see our neighbors outside. Smiles and waves are good for the soul.

*My favorite snack lately: Perfect Bar. These are SO good and filling!

*Book: I randomly stumbled upon a book called Regretting You while searching for another one. It has been so captivating and I have been staying up way to late to read it! Haha.

This weekend, I hope to do a little home celebrating with my little family since I am turning 31!
