Our Weekend Of Food, Friends, Family, Fitness, And Sickness

Hello and happy Sunday, all! Our weekend started out wonderful, but that changed when our sweet daughter became ill. I will get to that, but let’s recap the good parts first.

FRIDAY NIGHT:

I spent a lot of the day cleaning because my husband and I were having our friends over for dinner.

Once I got the baby down, I put out cheese, crackers, and wine to have when our friends came.

When they got to our house, we chatted while my husband grilled steak and salmon. Our friends brought homemade mac and cheese!

Dinner was absolutely delicious, and we had a great time catching up.

After dinner, we played Cards Against Humanity. It was so fun! Such a nice change of pace from watching movies. We talked and laughed so much. When they left, my husband and I cleaned up and headed to bed.

SATURDAY:

The day started with coffee and hanging with the baby. When she went down for a nap, I went to the gym. I did 30 minutes of a spin class, then a short upper body lifting workout. It felt so good!

When I got home, we got ready, and headed off to a food truck festival downtown. It was such a nice family day!!

These two are my absolute favorites!

We waited in the longest line for a food truck called Cousins Maine Lobster. It was actually on the show Shark Tank! Guys, it was SO worth the wait. I had lobster tacos and my husband had the lobster roll.

We also grabbed a meal from Island Noodles, which was delicious! Noodles, veggies, and terriaki chicken! Yum!!!!

We fed the baby a bottle while we ate.

She was exhausted by this point, so we headed out after eating.

When we got home, we played until it was time to get our sweet girl to bed. She fell asleep and we had some leftovers for dinner. We rented the Avengers, and enjoyed some ice cream that we picked up from Kroger earlier in the day.

About an hour into our movie, I heard the baby somewhat gagging on the monitor. My husband ran into her room (I was right behind him) and rolled her onto her side as she started vomiting. I got her in my arms and the vomiting started again. It happened many times, until everything was out of her and it was just dry heaving. My husband did an excellent job staying calm, but I struggled with that. We talked to my husband’s aunt, who is a nurse, and she gave us advice on what to do.

We had her lay with us for a long time, until we knew the vomiting was done. We kept an eye on her the whole night. She slept well thankfully!

SUNDAY:

Baby girl was so hungry when she got up. She was also super happy!!

She has had a great day so far and seems to be 100 percent herself. My husband woke up not feeling well, and I have a sour stomach. Hopefully we don’t get any worse!

It was so terrible seeing our sweet baby in pain. This was the first time she has been really sick and it broke my heart. I’m so glad it was short lived!!

Well, that’s about a for today! I’m hoping to get my laundry all folded before dinner.

A Motivated Mamma Update

Hello and happy Friday, all! Do you have any fun weekend plans? We are having some friends over for dinner and I’m so excited! Luckily, I got my cleaning finished during the baby’s nap this morning. Yay!

Anyway, I have felt extremely motivated during my workouts this week, despite an extremely painful UTI. Those are the worst! Thankfully, my antibiotics knocked it out and I am MUCH better.

Gosh, this little cutie keeps me going. I just want to be the best mommy to her because she is amazing.

Let’s recap this week in healthy food and fitness!

MONDAY:

For my workout, I jogged with baby K. We did some hills which was challenging, but so fun for both of us!

For dinner, we made the most delicious meal from Hello Fresh. I have never tried a meal delivery kit, but it was delicious and so fun to make! They get expensive, but it was fun to try.

Lots of veggies topped with a grilling cheese. We put chicken on ours to make it more hearty!

We watched Bachelor in Paradise while enjoying our meal.

TUESDAY:

My workout was a Barre video at home. It felt good, but my UTI was in full force so I struggled with that all day. Ughh!!

For dinner, we had porkchops. I put mine in a salad! Yum!

I had a rough evening and did not sleep well.

WEDNESDAY:

I felt well enough for a 3 mile jog before my dr. appointment! My mom babysat while I got medicine and ran some errands! Thanks, mom!!!

We had a baby play date at my friend’s place, and it was fun getting baby K around other kiddos.

For lunch, we had food from Whole Foods because we love their salad bar!

My husband came home early to be on baby duty while I went to a Handmaid’s Tale Finale Party! We all brought a dish, dressed up, and watched the show. It was a blast and the episode was SO GOOD.

Anyone else watch the show??

I got straight into bed when I got home.

THURSDAY:

I woke up before 5am because my body doesn’t like to sleep in. I decided to take a spin class before I taught online. It felt so good!

Later, baby K and I had another play date! Starbucks and the park = so much fun!

For dinner, we had pasta! I added a veggie burger to mine instead of the meat sauce that my husband used.

FRIDAY:

The day started with a gluteus maxout class at the gym! It felt so good, but I’m already sore.

Now that the house is clean I need to shower before our friends come over, but my little one is napping on me and I love it so much. I never get these snuggles anymore, so I’m soaking it up!

Fit Friday-Mom Edition #8

Hi, all! Happy Friday! I am up before the crew, having coffee, and taking a few minutes to myself before I online teach. Do you have any fun weekend plans? Today, my sweet girl has her 6 month checkup. I can’t believe she is 6 months already.

I adore this little sweetie! She is just a blast. She is so happy (minus when her teeth hurt), loves her feet, chews on everything, eats like a champ, and loves taking in her surroundings. She is so chubby, and this mamma stays fit carrying her around all day haha! I honestly can’t believe that I get to be her mommy. God sure has blessed us.

Keeping up with a healthy lifestyle is so important to me. It can be a bit trickier these days, as I have little time to myself, but I sure do try!

FOOD THIS WEEK:

Chicken, corn, and sweet potato fries.

Chickpea pasta with veggie “meatballs” and a salad. This was my first time trying chickpea pasta and I really enjoyed it. It has a distinct taste, though!

Whole Foods salad bar with my mamma and little one. We love having her visit!!

A citrus crunch salad from Northstar Cafe! Baby K and I met with my friend for lunch. It was so fun! She has not seen her since she was 2 weeks old. This salad is amazing and has chicken, peanuts, and mangos. Plus, the peanut dressing is mouthwatering! Yum!!

Those were my favorites from the week. Some days we just throw an easy meal together, but we try to cook and eat as a family most of the time.

FITNESS THIS WEEK:

*HIIT workout video via Fitnessblender on YouTube. Guys, I can’t recommend this YouTube channel enough. They have tons of free videos and they are SO good. They are challenging, and range in level and time. I am sore days later haha!

*Barre workout video

*Elliptical

*Upper body lift at the gym (my mom babysat so I could sneak out)

*Today, I plan on going out for a run because my husband is staying home until baby K’s dr. appointment

Our Weekend Of Food, Fitness, Family, And Wine

Hello, hello, all! I am currently sitting on our deck with my sweet girl in my lap. We luck out having a huge tree to keep us shaded. Baby K loves looking around and listening to the sounds of nature.

Anyway, this past weekend was so nice, as we got to spend some quality family time together. Here’s the recap:

FRIDAY NIGHT:

After getting the baby down, I put together a quick meal. I stuffed a white sweet potato with chicken, bbq sauce, and cheese. I also had some veggies and ranch. It was easy and tasty!

After dinner, my husband and I rented The Upside. I thought it was such a well done movie!

SATURDAY:

I woke up early and snuck in a 3 mile run outside while the baby and husband were still sleeping.

Afterwards, we got all ready and headed to our favorite winery by my mom’s house. The drive is near 2 hours, but the baby did awesome! We had a lot of family meeting us there for lunch and to meet our sweet girl.

I love seeing these sweet cousins together!

Yum!

We all caught up and hung out for a couple hours and had the best time!

Once all the littles were getting fussy and tired we knew it was time to go.

Once we got home, I fed the baby and played with her until bedtime.

That evening, we just relaxed, as we were tired from our day!

SUNDAY:

My work bestie came over with Starbucks that morning! We caught up while my husband worked on her car.

We ended up heading to my husband’s shop because he needed extra tools. I loved it because it meant more time with my favorite girlfriend!!

When he finished up, we grabbed Jersey Mike’s on the way home for lunch.

I got the baby down for a nap and went grocery shopping.

Once I got home, I played with my girl until she was ready to eat and have a bath.

She made quite the mess with her green beans!

Once we got her down, my husband made salmon in the crockpot. It was delicious!

We watched some tv before heading to bed fairly early.

Fit Friday And A Mom/Baby Update

Hello, all! Happy Friday!! Do you have any fun weekend plans? We are visiting my family at my absolute favorite winery ever tomorrow. Many of them have not met the baby, and I am so excited for them to finally hold her!

Speaking of my sweet girl, she will be 6 months old a week from today. Time is absolutely flying!

She has gained SO many skills, and I adore watching her grow and show off her sweet personality. She laughs and smiles so big. I could not love this little one more. We spend our days playing, singing, reading, walking, and sitting outside (thank goodness we have had a few cooler days). I am so excited for fall, and constant cooler weather so we can get out even more.

As far as myself, I have been sneaking out to the gym when I can, which helps me be a better mom. I do wish I had more mom friends around because I crave adult conversation at times. I joined a mommy and me class that meets twice a week starting later this month, so that should help!

Now, let’s talk food and fitness…

FOOD:

My mom and I met some friends at BJs Brewhouse on Tuesday for lunch (baby had a hard time unfortunately), but the food was delicious! This salad was from their enlightened menu and it was filling and tasty!

Those are just a few favorites from this week!

FITNESS:

I made it to the gym a few times this week for some classes.

A 45 minute upper body strength class.

A cycle sculpt class.

I have also done hiit workout videos, jogged with baby, and pure barre videos!

That’s about all for this recap! I am off to clean a bit and hopefully sneak a workout in before the baby gets up from her nap!
