Our Valentine’s Day

Hello, everyone! I hope the week is treating you well. K has had quite a few no nap days, leaving this mamma pretty tired. I am SO thankful that she sleeps well at night! I planned on posting this on Monday, but you know, mom life.

Anyway, we had low-key Valentine’s Day, but I wanted to share.

My husband surprised me on Wednesday with beautiful flowers and my favorite almond butter. He usually waits until the day of, when all the flowers are picked over, but was sweet to go early this year!

Love them!

On Sunday, my sister-in-law came over and spent the day with us. We did some baking and hanging out!

Almond flour cinnamon rolls! These are delicious. We topped them with Simple Mills vanilla frosting.
Chocolate protein balls. Yum!

My sister-in-law left when we put K down for bed.

Once the house was picked up, I took a bath while my husband when to get us takeout.

We got Chinese, then spent the evening catching up on Hell’s Kitchen and relaxing! It was so nice.

So yummy!!!

Foodie Friday-Favorite Eats Lately, Plus A Life Update

Hello and happy Friday!! I hope the week treated you well. My sweet girl turned 2 on Tuesday and we had fun celebrating her. My husband came home mid-day from work so we could sing and open presents. When he headed back to work, my mom, mother-in-law, and I took K to lunch. It was so fun!

We also had her 2 year checkup this week. She is doing great, but is behind in speech. We are being referred to speech therapy and that makes me so happy!♡

Other updates:

WATCHING:

*The Vanishing at Cecil Hotel-oh my goodness! Is anyone else watching this??? So creepy!!

*The Bachelor-this has always been a favorite of mine!

*Hell’s Kitchen-I just love Gordon Ramsey.

EXCITED ABOUT:

*I am longing for spring and warmer weather! I can’t wait until we spend our days outside in the sunshine.

*VACATIONS:

*We have 2 planned: one is at Gun Lake in Michigan this summer, and one in North Carolina in Fall. Two of my favorite places!!

WORKOUTS:

*I tend to use my loop bands the most out of anything! It is awesome how I get so sore from them. I also take advantage of my large basement to run around for cardio.

FOOD:

Now onto all of the tasy things we’ve been eating….

Chinese takeout!
Potatoes, mixed veggies, chicken sausage, garlic, and lots of seasonings. I put mine over cauliflower rice! Soooo yummy!
2 of my girlfriends came over and we snacked on this plus had some wine! We had so much fun.
Okay so this was amazing!! It is a Reeses Cup smoothie from a place called Power Fuel Nutrition. Yum!!!

Some other favorites lately include pork chops, edamame spaghetti, and deer steaks!

Toddler Meal Ideas

Hello and happy Friday!! We are laying low this weekend because my little one and husband are a bit under the weather. I am doing my best not to catch their colds, but my sweet daughter has been extra snuggly, and of course I can’t deny her.

I thought for my post today that it would be fun to share some toddler meals! I do my best to keep K’s food healthy (mostly) and enjoyable for her.

Whole wheat pasta with pesto, peppers, and a cheese stick.
All white meat chicken nuggets with sugar free bbq sauce, and fruit.
Cheesy eggs, an almond flour brownie, a pouch, and a Honest Kids juice.
English muffin pizza, peppers, and raisins. K loves to help make this pizza!

Other ideas: protein pancakes, lara bars, overnight oats, oatmeal, rotisserie chicken and rice, and salmon. K can be picky with meat, but I do offer it!

I would love to hear some of your little one’s favorites!

Fit Friday-A 30 minute cardio workout, plus some food favorites

Hi, all! Happy Friday!! I hope you are well. My little one will be 2 in a couple weeks, which is crazy. Time feels like it goes so fast when it comes to her growing up. She has decided not to nap the last couple of days, but continues to be an excellent night time sleeper! We are starting potty training soon and I am kind of scared haha. Wish me luck! Other than that, I have been longing for warmer weather. I can’t wait until K and I can spend our days outside. I miss jogging with her and that wonderful sunshine! I know it will be here soon enough!

Anyway, moving on to the point of this post. I have continued my at-home workouts, and do my best to stay motivated. Yesterday was a cardio day and I really enjoyed my workout, so I want to share it!

1) 5 minute warmup on the elliptical. 2) 10 burpees, 10 star jumps, 10 squat jumps, and 10 kicks on the punching bag- repeat step two three times 3) 10 sprints. REPEAT everything until you hit 30 minutes!

I was pretty sweaty by the end of that workout! I will definitely do it again. *Please note that I only do what works for me and my body when it comes to working out.

Moving on to a few food favorites….

Edamame pasta with meat sauce and an Annies organic biscuit! So yummy!!!
My friend and I went to dinner at a delicious Thai restaurant. I only got a picture of the appetizer unfortunately! These steamed dumplings were amazing. The rest of the meal was, too!
My post workout snack lately! Dates with almond butter, dark chocolate chips, nuts, and coconut chips! Seriously so good!!!
This drink has been a nice little pre workout for me! Caffeine free, but still gives me energy. Double chocolate Criobru blended with ghee, coconut oil, and nut pods! I highly recommend Criobru!!! SO yummy!!

Fit Friday And A Little Life Update

Hello, and happy Friday!! It has been a long time since I have posted. I have been so focused on keeping up with my almost 2 year old and housework that I am consumed most of the time. My little one is always busy, and I am trying to navigate having a full blown toddler. She is a ton of fun and makes me laugh constantly! She is behind in speech, which I often worry about. We have an appointment the day after her birthday, and I am looking forward to figuring out the next step in helping her. Other than that, she is still in gymnastics and is very brave! I am so proud of her. We get to have play dates with gym friends, staying as covid safe as possible. We often spend time with my mom, which has been a lifesaver this winter!

Ughhh I love her!

As far as fitness goes, I have been continuing my at-home workouts. I got some new bands and love them! They don’t slip off of my legs constantly, which is awesome. I have been utilizing YouTube to find full body band workouts! I am so sore afterwards. On cardio days, I do the elliptical, use my punching bag, run sprints, jumps and abs. I have to mix things up to keep from getting bored! Yesterday was chilly, but sunny, and I was able to run outside for the first time in a while!

We have been enjoying some good food lately! We always try to eat pretty healthy, well me more than my husband haha. On New Year’s Eve, my niece came over and we made such a yummy dinner! Here are just a few pictures from lately…

Cheeseburger cups, a Mediterranean salad, and an edamame salad. It was all delicious!
We went out to dinner on my mom’s birthday and this was our appetizer! It was amazing.
My favorite snack lately! One date with Justin’s vanilla almond butter and sugar free chocolate chips.
Simple Mills pumpkin muffins! So healthy and tasty!!!
