Foodie Friday-This Week In Healthy Food Favorites

Hello, and happy Friday!! We just got the car loaded, and are on the way to Michigan for our annual lake vacation with my husband’s family. Now that K is running around, it will be even more fun. There will be a lot of kids for her to play with!

This is my absolute favorite picture from last year. It is so crazy how big this sweet girl is now! Excuse me while I go cry. Lol!

Okay, now let’s get on to the food part of this post!

We ate pretty darn well this week! Here are my favorites….

Chipotle!! Brown rice, fajitas, tomatoes, corn, guacamole, and a side of chicken.

Okay….this was legit the best salad I have ever had!! I actually got it twice in one week. My mom came for the day and we decided to try a place called Clean Juice for lunch. I got a salad with SO many tasty toppings and avacado toast. YUM!

Foodie Food-This Week In Tasty Meals And An Update

Hello, and happy Friday! Things have been crazy around here, and I am finally able to take a minute to myself. K is napping, and I just finished cleaning. Anyway, on to our big news….

WE ARE BUILDING A HOUSE! Everything has been happening so quickly, and we finally made the decision to just go with it. I am THRILLED with the design, and can’t wait to move my family to a beautiful community, close to my husband’s work. We have a lot to do, and actually have to have our current house in contract by August. We will probably have to move into an apartment until the new place is ready!

In other news, my sister-in-law is moving out when we get home from vacation because she found an apartment. I am excited to hit up her pool the rest of the summer!

Now that I have shared that, let’s move onto FOOD FAVORITES from the week. I decided to plan some fun meals and they all turned out so yummy!!

Chili mac! This was delicious!! I made it meat free and loved it.

Food, Fitness, And A Family Update

Hello, and happy Friday! I have been beyond sporadic with my posts lately. A lot has been going on, and honestly I am just so tired. Although this morning, the day started out with a Super Coffee, and an avacado banana muffin with almond butter on top. I also got a little more sleep last night! Yay!

BABY/TODDLER UPDATE:

My sweet girl has SO much energy during the days! I think we will be switching to one nap a day soon. We have been enjoying walks, her baby pool, and all of the bubbles! Lol!! She is chatty, silly, and loads of fun! She has started tantruming some, and I am trying to navigate how to handle that. She is so snuggly these days and I LOVE it!

FAMILY UPDATE:

My husband and I might be building a house! Things have happened so quickly, and it has been a whirlwind. We would be moving close to his work, and the community it wonderful!! The schools are nice, there is a pool, and so many awesome walking trails. We are trying to get the process rolling because it takes 6 months once they start!

FITNESS UPDATE:

I am still enjoying my at-home workouts! Some days I miss the gym, but the money I am saving is SO great!!

This week:

*Stoller barre-the extra weight of K in the stroller is awesome.

*1 min Elliptical, 1 min weights for 30 minutes

*YouTube: Spartan 500 from Fitness Blender

*Bands and Kettlebells

FOOD FAVORITES:

Chipotle bowl! I decided to go veggie with sofritas and guacamole on the side. I didn’t eat the sofritas because they tasted odd to me. The meal was delicious though!

I made a pork loin in the crockpot with white sweet potatoes, onions, and carrots. I put the pork on an english muffin with cheese and greek yogurt ranch dressing.

This delicious salad was from a vegan restaurant called Portia’s Cafe. I also had soup and a slice of strawberry cheesecake. Yum!

A sald bowl from Piada! A lot of the toppings were at the bottom. It was so yummy!

Other meals included: chickpea pasta with meat sauce, a frozen pizza, and chicken drumsticks with cauliflower mac and cheese.

Food, Fitness, Family, And Friends

Hello, all! Happy weekend! We have had a lovely week. We are finally expanding our circle, and seeing more friends and family. I didn’t realize how much I had missed everyone until we got together. It is filling my heart, and K loves seeing her buddies again!


K has had so much energy lately, runs all around, and keeps me busy. She has a big, silly, fun personality, and I can’t get enough of her. I could gush over her forever! Lol!!

As far as fitness goes, I have been enjoying my at-home workouts!
This week:
*Barre
*Stroller runs
*Elliptical
*Kettlebells, bands, and bodyweight excercises
*Stair runs

FOOD FAVORITES:

Chinese takeout! I love the healthy options!
My mom and I grabbed lunch at Zupas Cafe! I had a mango salad, veggie soup, bread, and a chocolate covered strawberry! Yum!
Chicken sausage skillet. It has apple chicken sausage, sweet potatoes, peppers, onions, and lots of tasty seasonings! I put it over brown rice! So good!!
Northstar Cafe with my mom and K! I had a ham and cheese scone, a salad, and a fresh squeezed “shooting star.” Absolutely delicious!!!
Yet another Northstar meal! My cousins and their girls were over today, and this was the first time they had it. I got the sweet basil burrito with a side of peanut slaw as well.
I made pumpkin muffins this week and they were gone SO quickly!! I like to top mine with some chocolate chips and almond butter.
This weekend will be full of cleaning and enjoying family time! I hope yours is wonderful as well!

Workout Wednesday- Kettlebells and Stairs

Hello, all! I hope everyone is doing well. Life is good around here. It has been so nice being able to see some friends and catch up!

Anyway, I officially cancelled my gym membership. As much as I love it, this pandemic showed me that I can get good workouts done at home, and save a ton of money. Since K was born, I only went a couple days a week, and the cost wasn’t justified at that point. I am so happy with my decision.

That said, I am going to share my favorite workout from the week.

I used 10 pound kettlebells and the stairs from my deck.

THE WORKOUT:

5 min warmup (I did the elliptical)

Circuit 1:

*Stair hops

*12 squats

*12 arm curls

*12 upright rows

Repeat 3 times

Circuit 2:

*Stair hops

*12 lunges + 12 lunge pulses each side

*12 deadlifts

*12 overhead triceps

Repeat 3 times

Circuit 3

*Stair hops

*12 push ups

*12 booty pulses each leg

*12 squat pulses

Repeat 3 times

I also jogged around the house in between rounds!
