A Taste Of Spring, A Day Off, A Night With Friends, Tasty Food, And A Week Of Fitness

Hello and happy Friday, all! I have had a pretty good week, minus feeling exhausted at work. Between the tasty food, new workouts, one stunning day, and a day off, I sure can’t complain.

Here’s the recap:

MONDAY:

Due to President’s Day, I had the day off of work. I took advantage of sleeping in and utilizing the time to clean, fold laundry, get in a great upper body lifting workout, get an oil change (thanks hubby), and shop with my mom!

As for this day in food….

For lunch, I had a chicken and couscous bowl from the cafe at my gym. It was delicious! I also had banana bread when I got home.

Dinner was grilled cheese and minestrone soup!

After dinner, we watched the Bachelor before bed!

TUESDAY:

The day was absolutely beautiful outside!! It got up to 74 degrees, which made me so excited for spring weather!

After work, I went over to the reservoir by my house for a run. It was so nice!

After my run, my husband and I got ready and went to our friend’s house for dinner. They made jambalaya with garlic bread. It was delicious!!!!

Also, they have a super cute puppy who just loves me.

We got home pretty late and went straight to bed.

WEDNESDAY:

I decided to try a new workout class before work, and I’m so glad I did! It was a tabata class and only a half hour, but so intense. It was 20 seconds all out, 10 seconds rest of a bunch of different excercises. I will be doing it again for sure.

Dinner was a turkey burger with avacado and coconut oil fried plantain!

THURSDAY:

I started the morning with a spin class. It was a good one, but I sure was tired.

After work, I took a nap before making dinner. Grilled cheese and leftover minestrone soup…

I’m a kid at heart.

I fell asleep early on the couch!

FRIDAY:

I started the morning with my gluteus maxout class and it was great as always.

I grabbed Starbucks before work.

I have a busy weekend ahead, but it should be fun!

Workout Wednesday-Arms, Back, and Abs

Hello and happy hump day!! I had the day off of work Monday, so instead of taking my early morning workout class, I slept in and did my own. It was a good one! I wanted to share.

*Please note that I am not a personal trainer and only post workouts that work for me and my body.

ARMS, BACK, AND ABS

Start with a warmup (at least 5 minutes). I did a light jog.

Superset 1:CHEST

*12 DB chest press, 12 pushups (feet on bench)

Repeat both excercises for 3 rounds

Superset 2: SHOULDERS

*12 half arnolds, 12 side raises

Repeat both excercises for 3 rounds

SUPERSET 3: BACK

*12 weighted back raises, 12 back rows (with plate)

Repeat both excercises for 3 rounds

SUPERSET 4: BICEPTS

*10 lower half curls+10 upper half curls+10 full curls with a barbell, 12 rope curls

Repeat both excercises for 3 rounds

SUPERSET 5: TRICEPS

*12 tricept lifts, 12 tricept pushdowns

Repeat both excercises for 3 rounds

SUPERSET 6: ABS

*15 weighted bench pikes, 50 bicycle crunches

Repeat both excercises for 3 rounds

Weekend Wrap-Up-Food, Fitness, Cute Animals, And Sunshine

Hello and happy Sunday, everyone! I am off of work tomorrow due to President’s Day, so my mom, niece, and nephew are coming to visit. I am looking forward to it!

This weekend has been pretty relaxing! We didn’t get out of the house much, but there is nothing wrong with that.

Here’s my recap…

FRIDAY NIGHT:

After work, I came home and relaxed until my husband called letting me know he was on his way. I made a simple dinner of salad (with crushed tortillas) and chicken. I made a healthy bbq ranch dressing for it. Plus, I had an english muffin!

After dinner, my husband fell asleep on the couch, so I watched Forensic Files until I was tired.

SATURDAY:

I woke up and made a pot of coffee and had breakfast. My husband and I ran some morning errands (Petsmart and Best Buy) before heading home.

I had wanted to go to a spin class at my gym, but ended up doing a cardio workout at home. If you search “Fitness Blender” on Youtube, they have TONS of free and awesome workout videos.

A little later, I decided to use up my bananas and make banana bread. I found a recipe on Pinterest and it turned out wonderful!

It was healthified and husband approved!

We ordered dinner from a favorite of ours: Roosters! I got the grilled chicken fingers and a ceasar salad.

After dinner, we watched some of the All Star festivities (skills and dunk contest) before bed.

SUNDAY:

My friend and I went to Starbucks and church this morning. It is always nice spending time with her.

After church, I had a quick lunch! Ham, turkey pepperoni, and mozzarella all heated up on an english muffin, plus sweet potato chips. I also had a yogurt with nuts!

After lunch, my in-laws came over with the family pup, Bella. My cats weren’t sure what to think!

My older cat hissed at her and hid the whole time. He usually does okay with her, so that bummed me out.

My little cat (who is scared of everything), was brave and interested in her. Their interactions were adorable!

We took Bella for a long walk and she had fun! It was sunny out, making me long for spring!

When we got back, we started working on a puzzle we got from the bookstore. After we complete it, I want to display it!

What it will look like when we finish…

Once my in-laws left, we cleaned up the house and showered. I did a short yoga video before dinner.

Salad+tortillas+cheese+sweet potato fries!

Now we are relaxing until the All Star game comes on!

Sunday night drinks! Yum!

This Week In Delicious Food, Fitness, A Musical, And Valentine’s Day

Happy Friday, all!! Gosh, I’m ready for a long weekend. Do you have any fun plans? I’m not sure what we are doing, but we will probably see Black Panther at some point.

This week has been AMAZING for food. I seriously ate something delicious each day! It was full of carbs and I’m not sorry about it. Haha!

Here’s the recap:

MONDAY:

I’ve been taking a class called cycle sculpt on Monday mornings. It is intense and I love it! 35 minutes of spinning and 25 of weights.

Dinner was SO GOOD! I found a recipe on Pinterest for antipasto squares, so I decided to make my own version.

Mine is made with Annie’s organic cresent rolls (as the bottom and top layer), filled with ham, pepperoni, mozzarella cheese, and mild jalapenos. The top is brushed with olive oil, parmesan, and Italian seasoning. Baked until golden brown. YUM!!!

After dinner, we watched the Bachelor before bed.

TUESDAY:

I woke up early and hit the gym to do an upper body lifting workout.

After work, I went to my hometown to meet my mom to see The Sound Of Music at a local theater.

Before the show, we met my best friend and her mom for dinner at Uno’s Pizza! I had a salad, and my mom and I shared the very veggie pizza! Okay, not healthy, but they got rid of their delicious wheat bread. We got the thin crust, and it was still super tasty!!!

Dinner was a blast and the musical was AMAZING!!! We had a fun night!

WEDNESDAY: VALENTINE’S DAY

I woke up exhaused because the play the night before ran so late! It was worth it though.

After work, I went to the gym for a 3 mile run. It felt good, despite being tired.

When my husband got home, he told me to go to a separate room while he got my Valentine’s surprise ready.

He got me beautiful flowers, my favorite almond butter, and is treating me to my hair appointment! He also went to Whole Foods and got all of the ingredients to make cheese stuffed ravioli with meat sauce. It was delicious!!!

I was so surprised! He is the best!!! We had such a nice evening together.

THURSDAY:

I decided to go to the gym after work and do a workout on the stair climber. I listened to a podcast which helped pass the time.

Dinner was a Bertolli frozen pasta and shrimp meal. I cooked up some chicken to add to it!

FRIDAY:

I woke up early and went to my favorite workout class: Gluteus maxout! I love leg day!!! I know I’m going to be crazy sore from it tomorrow.

Well, my lunch break is almost over, so time to go.

Wedding Pictures

Hello, everyone! Happy Valentine’s Day to all of you love birds. I know this holiday can be a little cliche, but I don’t care because I love opportunities to make my husband feel extra special.

In honor of love, I thought I’d share some of our wedding pictures since I didn’t have a blog at that time.

This was during his brother’s best man speech. It was hilarious!

Later into the reception we brought out props and they were a big hit!

I love reminiscing on this day! I love this guy with all of my heart!!
