Fit Friday-This Week In Food And Fitness, Plus Our Upcoming Vacation

Hello and happy Friday, everyone! Did you have a good week? Do you have any fun weekend plans? As soon as I finish this post, my husband and I are packing up the car and heading to Gun Lake in Michigan for vacation with his family! Whooo! We will be there until next Saturday and I am looking forward to spending time with everyone.

Anyway, let’s recap this week!

The day started with coffee and teaching some online classes. After teaching, I spent the day cleaning and getting things done around the house.

Lunch was a vegetable empanada from Whole Foods, nut things, a cheese stick, and cherries.

That evening, I went to a class at my gym called shred. It is a full body workout with free weights. It was fun!

After the gym and a shower, I made antipasto squares and a salad for dinner.

We watched the Bachelorette before bed.

I woke up and taught before heading to a dr. appointment. After the appointment, I drove to my home town to meet my best friend’s brand new twin girls!! I brought her lunch and loved on those sweet babies! It was so fun!!

When I left it was pouring, but luckily I didn’t hit much traffic. I went straight to the gym and did a workout on the arc trainer.

My husband worked late so I ate dinner alone before picking him up (late) from the shop.

I had another empanada with pesto quinoa.

The day started with coffee and teaching. I went to a barre class at my gym before spending the day with my mom!

We went to lunch at a vegan restaurant called Portia’s Cafe. It was delicious!! I had lentil soup and a Mediterranean wrap.

For dessert, I had a blondie macaroon. Yum!

My mom and I took my husband lunch before doing some shopping.

Dinner was turkey burgers and corn on the cob.

I woke up, had coffee and taught a few online classes. I made some protein pancakes for breakfast.

Later, I did a short jog outside, but I was pretty tired so I took a nap afterwards.

I went to Target for some last minute vacation items before coming home and picking up.

For lunch, I had a leftover turkey burger bean chips and a pickle.

That evening, my husband and I went to see the new Jurassic World movie so dinner was quick at home.

After the movie, we both crashed.

This morning, I woke up and had some coffee before heading to the gym for a barbell strength class.

Now it is time to get ready for vacation!

Have a wonderful weekend, everyone!

Our Wonderful Weekend

Hello, all! How was your weekend? Ours was extremely busy, but so much fun! It was full of friends, family, and delicious food. My heart is so full!

Before I recap the weekend, I want to wish all of those fathers out there a happy Father’s Day…especially my dad in Heaven and my father-in-law. I am so glad my husband and I had amazing examples growing up and I can’t wait to see my husband as a father some day!

My dad and I after my first half marathon (that he trained me for). Ugh I miss him so much.

Now, here’s the weekend recap…

My husband and I met up with some friends for dinner at a wonderful bbq place called Oak Hill BBQ. I have always had the best experience there!

I had chicken legs (from the smoker), smoked cabbage, greens and cornbread.

We all enjoyed our meals and stayed talking so long we didn’t realize that we stayed passed closing…oops. haha!

After dinner, my husband and I watched some TV before bed.

I woke up, had coffee and breakfast, and got everything ready to head out of town for the rest of the weekend.

I had a dr. appointment in the morning, then ran to the store before going to the gym. I did an express gluteus maxout class which was plenty for the day!

After the gym and a quick shower, I got a blowout on my hair since we had a big night planned.

When I got home, the hubs and I packed up the car and headed to Cincinnati (about a 2 hour drive).

We met our friends for dinner before heading to the Great American Ball Park for the Luke Bryan concert.

Dinner was delicious and we had so much fun catching up!

I had a black bean burger, fruit, and creamy farro (which wasn’t out when I took this picture).

We had time to kill after dinner so we walked across the river and sat at another bar.

We walked back when it was time for the concert. It was so much fun!!!! It was also SO hot. Being in the 90 degree heat for 5 hours was rough, but worth it.

The crew enjoying some music!

My college roomie (who also happens to be Brad’s cousin). How lucky am I to marry into one of my best friend’s families?!

The concert went on until after 11 and I drove us back to my mom’s place about a half hour away.

My mom loaded us up on presents and snacks as she always does. She’s the best! I read bit, then crashed hard.

I woke up this morning and went to Starbucks with my mom. We hung out a few hours until we met up with my family to celebrate my nephew’s 14th birthday at a place called Main Event. It has arcade games, bowling, laser tag, food and more. We had a ton of fun celebrating a wonderful young man.

The face you make when you throw up all over your uncle…

After the birthday celebration we had to make a detour to get a part for my car before heading home.

I grabbed Whole Foods for dinner. I loaded up a salad and had a cup of soup.

Now, I am relaxing with my sweet kitties!

Have a great upcoming week, friends!

We had planned on meeting some friends for dinner, but the weather was terrible so we decided to reschedule.

I ended up making a pizza stuffed sweet potato with lime flavored bean chips for dinner.

My husband and I caught up on some shows before bed.

I woke up and made a chocolate peanut butter keto coffee. It was SO good!!

1 TBSP of Ghee, 1 TBSP of coconut oil, 1 scoop of chocolate peanut butter protein powder, and a cup of coffee.

After I drank that, I took a spin class at my gym. It felt so good!

Yes, my pants glow in the dark haha.

I cleaned the house some, then went to Lowe’s with my husband. He has been redoing our bathroom and I am so excited.

Next, I put dinner in the crockpot before starting a new show on Netflix called The Five. If you like crime shows then I highly recommend it!

When it was time for dinner, we had sausage and bean soup with cornbread muffins. This soup is my favorite!!

After dinner, we rented the movie Game Night. We both thought it was so funny!

This morning, I woke up, baked my cookie cups for breakfast and had a coffee.

Cookie cup with almond butter, plus a yogurt with dark chocolate sea salt granola. Yummmm!!!

After breakfast, I prepped my classes for tomorrow, and got a new certification for my online job.

Next, I finished deep cleaning the house while listening to a podcast.

When I was done, I went to church, then grabbed some lunch on the way home.

After church, I helped my husband out with the bathroom. It is starting to look so good!

For dinner, I had an impossible burger (the best veggie burger ever) with corn on the cob.

Fit Friday-Summer Break Addition

Hello and happy Friday, all! How did the week treat you? Do you have any weekend plans? We have a lot to do around the house, but it will be nice to get so much taken care of. Tonight, we are going to dinner with some friends at a place called Oak Hill Bbq. Think hole in the wall with AMAZING food. I’m so excited.

Anyway, this past week has been my first full week of summer break. It has been wonderful! I am still teaching online, but I finish my classes by 8:30 am each day.

Let’s recap, shall we?

I woke up and taught 3 classes before heading to the gym. I took a gluteus maxout class and decided to do lighter weight and focus on form. I’m so glad I did this!

After the gym, I met a girlfriend for lunch at Northstar Cafe. Their food is fresh and SO tasty!

We had been waiting about 10-15 minutes before the waiter apologized that is was taking so long. Our next meals are free! I wasn’t even worried about the wait at all (our food came out right after), but I won’t turn down free food! Haha!

After lunch, I took a nap before prepping my classes for the next day.

The hubs and I had stir fry for dinner while watching the Bachelorette.

I woke up, taught my classes, then went to the gym for a new class called upper body extreme. It was a really good workout and I will take it again!

I also stayed after for yoga. I needed it!

After the gym, I came home, cleaned a bit, had some lunch, and took a nap.

Later, I did some organizing and just hung out until my husband came home.

Dinner was pasta! I added veggie sausage, but hated it, so I took it off and just enjoyed my pasta with parmesan.

We watched TV until bed.

I woke up early and went to the gym for some cardio. I did 10 minutes on the stair climber, a mile jog, then 10 minutes on the arc trainer.

After the gym, I got ready, taught one class, then headed to my hometown to visit my best friend! She is due with twins this month!

We went to Starbucks, then had lunch at Potbelly! Afterwards, we hung out at her house with her two little ones, her mom, and brother. It was so nice!

I headed home mid day and was so tired, that I had a nap. Seriously I NEVER nap. What is wrong with me?! I also tried on my new nighty haha!

I did a closet purge until my husband came home. We had salmon, air fried veggies, and watermelon for dinner.

My husband spent time playing video games, so I watched some old episodes of American Horror Story until bed.

I woke up, taught 3 classes, then headed to the gym. I took a spin class, but only stayed 30 minutes. I am working on listening to my body and stopping when I need to.

I grabbed a smoothie before heading home.

Once I got home, I showered and watched some TV before my husband called to meet him for lunch. I love mid-day dates! We met at Chipotle and I had chicken tacos.

I took a nap when I got home because I was so tired again. When I woke up, I cleaned and did some more organizing before my husband came home.

Dinner was a salad with almonds, terriaki chicken, plantain, and leftover pasta.

We caught up on Masterchef before bed.

I woke up this morning and taught two classes. The kids we great and super respectful, which makes my job so easy! I had a keto coffee while I prepared!

After teaching, I went to a barbell strength class at the gym. I used light weights and worked on form. It felt good!

I have a chiropractor appointment later and need to clean some!

I hope you all have a great weekend!
