Weekend Wrap-Up-A Treadmill Workout, Healthy Food, And An Evening With Friends

Hi there, everyone! I hope you had a lovely weekend. I sure did! I can’t belive I go back to work tomorrow after 2 weeks off. Here’s hoping the kids aren’t too crazy haha!

Here’s a little wrap-up of the weekend!

FRIDAY NIGHT:

My husband and I had friends over for dinner. They recently got back from their honeymoon in Hawaii and had some great stories! Lots of laughs and tasty food is good for the soul. 

For dinner, I made a chili pasta and cornbread muffins. My friend brought a poppyseed salad to go with it! We also had some wine and champagne. Yum! 

SATURDAY:

I woke up and had coffee with my husband before heading to the gym. I decided to do a 30 minute treadmill workout that I came up with on the spot. I liked it a lot and will do it again for sure!

Here’s what I did: I started at an easy jog pace. I sped up the pace every minute until I reached 5 minutes. Next, I walked a minute before repeating the 5 minute build. This went on until I hit 30 minutes. It kept my heart rate up and I left super sweaty. 

*note that I am not a personal trainer and only post workouts that work for me and my body! 

After the gym, shower, and a quick lunch, my husband and I met his mom to pick up some tools to work on our house. We spent the rest of the day  (and into the evening) working on trim and stairs. Our house is becoming so homey with each new thing we do and I love it!!

We finally chilled out, made dinner and watched a movie before bed. 

Chicken sausage, sweet potato fries, and an english muffin. Quick and tasty!

SUNDAY:

Today is a tough day for me. My dad passed away 6 years ago today. He was such an amazing man and I miss him dearly.

We have kept busy today which helps! This morning, I made coffee and relaxed until my husband woke up. We decided to go out to brunch at a place called Scramblers. I love their breakfast food! 

My plate of scrambled eggs, turkey sausage, an english muffin, and fruit!

After we ate, we went to Lowe’s to get some things for the house. I dropped my husband off at home and headed to the grocery store. 

Once I got home and unloaded everything, I picked up the house.

By the time I finished I was hungry and made dinner.

A large salad with chicken and coconut oil fried plantain! 

Now I am watching Shark Tank while my husband continues to work on the house. He is the best! 

I’m off to check on him…
