Good morning, everyone!! It has been crazy waking up this week and not going to work. Summer break = perks of teaching. My co-worker and I celebrated the end of the year by taking a road trip to Nashville. My cousin lives there so we stayed with her and she showed us around. It was great having an insider because her suggestions (what to do, where to eat, shop, etc) were awesome! Here is a little recap!
We arrived on Sunday (mid day) and our first stop was Broadway, where we had a drink a listened to some live music.
Stop two was a walk along the Pedestrian Bridge. Hello beautiful views!!
After the bridge, we walked around and saw the music city walk of fame which was so awesome.
Here is one of many! Others include, Elvis, Vince Gill, Alan Jackson, etc.
The Grand Ole Opry tour was next. It was fantastic!! They took us all around and we even went into some dressing rooms. We also got to go on stage. I was like a kid in a candy store. For me, it was a life-long dream fulfilled!
Our last stop was dinner at The Tavern. Guys, this place was bomb!! We all split the buffalo cauliflower, and I had the kale salad with grilled salmon. Both were AMAZING. If you ever go to Nashville, I recommend this 100 percent.
Monday started with a hot and muggy 3 mile run, followed by a much deserved Starbucks trip!!
After getting cleaned up and hanging out a while, we went to brunch at an adorable place called Fido! YUM!! We all split a beet muffin (so good), and enjoyed lattes and cappuccinos. My main meal was an egg & cheese sandwich with veggie sausage on a wheat bagel.
After brunch, we did some shopping because it was pouring rain! The evening was spent seeing some live music from Rodney Atkins and Kip Moore in the middle of town. So fun!! Then a few drinks and music at Tootsies.
We finshed our evening with dinner at Clyde’s on Church. We split the brisket nachos (omggg fantastic, especially after a few drinks), and I got the kale salad with chicken (tasty, but not as good as the one from the night before).
Well, there you have it!!! I hope I could give some good recommendations. We had a great trip and can’t wait to go back!
Have a great day!
With love,
Carly
TN girl here! You need to go back and do some true local things! Spend time in 12 South, go to hillsboro village, eat at the local spots, go out to the Naches Trace! So much to do without traveling all over the place!

Lacey

My cousin just loves living there!! The only downfall is the parking. The Opry was even better than I expected! I sure hope you get to go sometime!
