Hi there, everyone! I hope your weekend is great so far. My husband and I saw the new Pirates of the Caribbean on Friday and enjoyed it a lot. Yesterday, my husband worked all day and I went shopping with my mother-in-law. We didn’t have dinner until 9:30 which is SUPER late for me. I was a tad hangry by then, but once we ate our seafood stuffed salmon I was fine! Today we have worked on our house all day. It’s a lot of work, but it is paying off like crazy. I hope to do a post to show our before and after pictures!
This past week, I have been feeling a little off. My anxiety hit me hard, and my body was exhausted and over worked. I have been working to be more body positive, and letting my body rest when it needs it. This has always been a struggle for me. After losing my dad, I became obsessed with working out and counting my calories. I was in a bad place mentally and physically. I am blessed to say that I got out of that stage of my life stronger, and with a healthier balance, but there are still times I struggle. I realized last week was one of those times. So, mid week I stopped myself, took a day off from working out, took a bath, and a breath. I reminded myself that my husband, family and friends love me for who I am. And you know what, I love me, too! I’m thankful for that reminder during those tough times.
Anyway, enough of the sappy post and onto my favorite breakfast smoothie! I made this last week and it was SO good. My husband even requested it this weekend (I make ours slightly different).
It is super simple, but oh my gosh, talk about tasty!!
INGREDIENTS:
- 1 cup of almond milk (or milk of choice)
- 1 scoop of your favorite protein powder (I used chocolate peanut butter from Ideal Lean)
- 1 cup of iced coffee (I used Starbucks medium roast)
- 1 frozen banana
- 1 TBSP of peanut or almond butter (optional – I added this in my husband’s smoothie but not my own)
DIRECTIONS:
- Blend everything in a high power blender (I used my Ninja blender)
- Serve immediately
I enjoyed mine with a side of cherries and a yogurt with nuts!
I hope you guys enjoy! Have an awesome rest of your weekend.
With love,
Carly

I HAVE to get a Ninja blender. The old tank I have is 20 years old and needs to be put out to pasture. Looking forward to trying smoothies once I upgrade that beast.

Hey Carly! Just wanted to let you know that what you are feeling is TOTALLY normal! So proud of you for working past your previous struggles and trying to remain positive and strong moving forward.
Also, you should be proud that you put yourself in check last week instead of continuing down the negative path!
You got this girl! Keep being you.
